My grandfather once asked me if I felt like BrickLink inventory change requests were a path to enlightenment or an exercise in futility. I told him that he was excessively enamored with false dichotomies and politely requested that he return to his assigned task of ironing my seersucker suit. He asked me this question in 1980 and I have often wondered since then how he knew about inventory change requests, being that he asked the question two decades prior to BrickLink's launch. We never spoke of the matter again.
