When a part is listed with color (not applicable), the sample image is white.
When listing white parts, this can cause confusion because they wouldn't
come up in a search for white and the error is hard to detect. When the parts
are actually some other color, the confusion is more obvious.
Perhaps the Not Applicable image could be a line drawing or otherwise altered.

Could you give an example? Not applicable is primarily used for stickers and
part assemblies.

It happens to me when using http://www.bricklink.com/inventory_add.asp?act=a&a=P
to list parts one lot at a time. Sometimes I don't select a color or BL doesn't
recognize that I made a selection.

When clicking Add To My Inventory on a catalog page, BL doesn't automatically
fill in the color I had selected in the catalog.
