Today, we gladly announce the launch of the new storefront project.
It’s not just about a modernized look.
The team has been focusing on improving the shopping experience without changing the uniqueness of BrickLink.
It also is a stepping stone of upcoming changes. Here are three main points we want to highlight:

Upgraded Store Landing Page

The Store landing page is the face of each store, and each seller has a different idea of what it should look like.
To give more control to the seller, you can curate items as you wish.
For example, in the Shop tab, you can choose items you want to promote and show them to buyers upon entering store.
You can even designate which tab, Shop, Terms or Splash, will be the landing page of your store among.

Enhanced Search

As one of the most important features, Search also received some updates.
Before, you had to exit the item page to use search filters in a store.
It wasn’t easy to keep narrowing down a search result.
We wanted to make this easy.
Now, all filters will stay in the left panel so it can be applied to Items and Wanted List items in a store.

New Feedback Design

Previously, buyer and seller feedback were mixed in one page.
However, store feedback is totally different from user feedback, so we separated them into new Store Feedback and User Feedback (current feedback page).
In the new Store Feedback page, Buyers can check recent 6 months and lifetime feedback of a store.
Infographic stats of recent 6 months feedback can help buyers better understand a store at a glance.
You can view each type of feedback by selecting the Praise, Negative, or Neutral tab as well.

What’s Next?

After polishing the Storefront, the team will focus on improving seller tools, such as Inventory management.
We will first work on Store Settings so that sellers will have better control over their stores.
The project will kick off with a New Skin and Inventory Dashboard.

A joke at best. Restore it to the way it was. Why fix what wasn't broken?
Some serious issues here. A very cumbersome and unintuitive design.

Fantastic job. I'm sorry I doubted the BL team in regards to this latest
update. I really look forward to "What's Next" portion of the BL updates...

Thank you BL team

Works okay for me. Maybe a browser-specific issue?

I'm finding that a lot of the pages load in a zoomed format on an iPad using
the Safari browser, whereas before this update every page automatically zoomed.
Is there any way to get back to that behavior as it takes time to resize the
screen (zoom out) on every refresh? Also, is this the appropriate forum for
reporting these kinds of bugs, or should this be elsewhere (it's not easy
to tell from looking at the site)?

You are correct. On my iPad In portrait mode, the pages all load zoomed in to
the upper corner. Every single page must be zoomed out. The whole page loads
correctly in landscape mode.

I will report the bug officially, in case no one has noticed it here.

Let's roll it back to the old design. I'm already wasting more time.
Or at least give us an option to choose how Bricklink appears to us. Maybe I
will learn to look it

But now it looks like every other website that I can't use because I cant
read the text so how is it unique?

I do like the way the categories break down but the colour scheme really really
does not work for me, can we at least have a user setting to change the background
colour? That way the cranky old gets like me can be just as happy as the iphone
generation folks that like everything in shiny white. please.

(note, Im old fashioned and cranky, I will not faff about going to a 3rd party
website to do one of those background colour change thingymibobs that was mentioned
in the previous thread on this subject)

The Store landing page is the face of each store, and each seller has a different idea of what it should look like.

I like the editability of this

Tiny steps on this please, call me old and not the core customer anymore if you
like but I'm struggling to get used to what you moved about already

I am also old, but the white background pleases me. Please try and look beyond
the surface, there are a lot of clever features built in to this new look. I
dare you to name 5 other websites that let the user change the background.

I would rather the dev team concentrate on fixing any bugs that have surfaced
since the update than giving abilities to change colours.

So is this where we report bugs???

The Orders pages have a broken image link where the old Bricklink icon used to
be. How can this not have been noticed?

Hi,
I must have been in the dark for a while as this new development with the Bricklink
site is a complete surprise! At first, I thought why didn't the admins let
us know this major upgrade!! When I first logged in this morning, I noticed the
logo and such and thought, oh yeah, few little changes again with the last maintenance,
no big deal. But when I was on 'my Bricklink' page, "what!!", couldn't
find any of the links I always use!! What a pain in the neck! This is the last
thing I need, to learn how to navigate this site again!
But after doing some searching, I realised that the Admins let the 'forum'
readers know of this development a few months back! Please remember that not
'all' members read the forums! I very rarely do myself as seen by this
major development news which I only found out today! Many years ago, we used
to get major news links on our 'my Bricklink' page whenever their was
a major development. Please in future, with any major developments, please give
us a link to the announcement on our 'my Bricklink' page. This will help
all sellers especially to prepare for such a change.

I have no comment yet on this change as I haven't had the time to look through
it all. The benefits, the negatives, or read the hundreds of forum messages over
this change. I don't know if I ever will read them all as I don't have
the time anymore to do such things! But I will have to take the time to navigate
these changes sometime, especially if it effects your shop in some way.

Thank you for the efforts put forth by those who did the changes as it would
have been a lot of work to do.

Brett.

  Hi,
I must have been in the dark for a while as this new development with the Bricklink
site is a complete surprise!

HERE HERE!! I wish just one time that developers would improve things without
rearranging EVERYTHING!!

Back to relearning....

Looks good so far! I am spending more time browsing and figuring it all out,
but once I get familiar with the new design... it should be great!

I haven't found any serious bugs. Our inventory is intact! We're still
getting orders! Things are good! Thanks, Admin!

Great upgrade Brick Link team

- using Want Lists is amazing now, much improved and easier to order

- Appreciate how the seller’s prices show are above/below the avg. price, so
we know if they are charging a fair price or not, will help builders not getting
over priced

Hey guys. Really not a fan of the new site layout. Version 2 was excellent, this
is an eyesore. Home page is a mess as well. I know it's probably not what
you want to hear after working hard to complete but it's the truth.

Great redesign, BUT:

- when searching IN a store, all the lego part numbers (listed at the back of
all new Lego instructions), give no result anymore ?!

I really like some of the new features. However, I don't like how flashy,
bright and modern it looks. Especially my store. I like the green color, so I
selected that as my store color. Now the store color doesn't even work! It's
all white.

What i really don't like now (and never will):

- tiny numbers used by prices and qty (may cause mistakes during ordering/selling
process)
- choosed font is not the best (prices/qty)
- ''in cart'' items by searching marked, but almost invisible
on first sight (different colour would be appreciated, at least)
- checking shopping cart = NO PART NUMBERS, just part description and picture?
why?!
- example from my cart when i'm shopping: 50(x2) - fine, but 50 (x2) would
be clearer
- LEGO IDs - should be an option to turn them on, like in case of Lot ID / Date
Listed, but they don't work by searchin' in a store like before, this
is the great upgrade? (donwgrade, definitely, or is it temporary?)
- adding to wanted list, thanks for another nightmare (graphically tragical).

ALSO - not all people understand EN, what about partial translating BL into many
other languages (ES, IT, DE, PL, CZ, RU, PT...)? At least the most used sections
and legends. I don't believe there would be nobody from any country to help
with this. This should help much more than new look, many people don't understood
BL with the old look and they don't will the new too, until they understand
no one word here (experience from my country, i gave BL-links to many people,
just few of them were able to search and buy here, i estimate that 99,9% of all
parents who need spare parts for kids will even never know about BL existence,
it's no joke).

I just don't think, i'm sure that there is still a lot to fix for the
future, and the best way is - to give the people more options to choose from,
simply - settings enhancement would make the things better. Or it will be
an neverending fight between OLD and NEW times, wider customization could really
help to make the users happy

Sorry for the criticism to all the people who worked on the improvements, but
remember that this was just another step and not all is now perfect now just
because it's new.

aaaaaaaand ... anybody is reading this?

Nicely done! Looks great. I like the changes. They are make things much more
intuitive and easier to navigate.

It truly is unfortunate that no matter what you do inevitably a bunch of people
will complain.

I can't wait to see more changes and it's exciting to watch this archaic
old website brought into modern times

Hey there,

I just wanted to let you know my sales are decreased extremely since the "big
update".
The loss will be about dollar thousands monthly. (Will see the monthly fee at
the end of month.) I spoke with other sellers in Hungary and they think/feel
the same.
I would say you pull that money out of my pocket with your thoughtless update.

Final thought: "What is working good, no need to repair"

Hello,
yes i can understand it, normally i make a lot of orders in the month, (I am
reseller),
I stopped buying at the moment, due the time I loose. It is a nightmare to pick
parts. I lost the view on quantity on weight on total price , it is slow, too
much clicks, a nighmare. And still a lot bugs without any end in sight.
For peolple with search with a wanted list , perhaps better than before, for
a search without a wanted list the new view is absolutely not usable. Try yourself
to buy a instruction if you have no number, you will need hours..., you can´t
compare on an easy way. You cant optimize your order on shippimg cost...etc etc...In
my eyes revenue of a lot of seller will drop down because it is not a fun to
do oders here at the moment.
greetings Roland

Final thought: "What is working good, no need to repair"

Same here, orders have really decreased, dont know if its all due to this upgrade
or if its just a slow season though.

Why?!

Since the update until two days ago I was unable to log in to Bricklink, was
given 413 error page constantly, and when I finally was able to log in it was
the worst thing I ever saw.
The Bricklink user-friendly ,lego-related design was destroyed . Now it
looks like a website for kids - sliding images , fancy design; It doesn't
looks like a website that is reliable , it looks like an ad
You even changed the logo , something that was the most iconic thing of
all this website!
With the previous version I NEVER had any problems, no errors , EVERYTHING
was perfect!!!

Because an update was due. Unlike yourself, many others do like the updated look.

Since the update until two days ago I was unable to log in to Bricklink, was
given 413 error page constantly, and when I finally was able to log in it was

Let me bump BL down your list for you, and take a quick peek at this gem:

The old BL might have been user friendly for you, but it certainly was not user
friendly for a lot of newcomers. From the feedback on other sites it looks like
a lot of people find the new version easier to use.

With the previous version I NEVER had any problems, no errors , EVERYTHING
was perfect!!!

Everything was maybe perfect for you, but not for others. That is not to say
this new incarnation is perfect, but at least there is some movement in the site
development.

I just want to understand why BL would get rid of personalized shopping settings.
Every single time I view a store I must select them again. It seems like every
so called improvement made to shopping has caused me some kind of issue. I get
the feeling they decided to cater to new buyers while saying goodbye bye to the
long-term ones.

Everything was maybe perfect for you, but not for others. That is not to say
this new incarnation is perfect, but at least there is some movement in the site

400,000 zero FB (potential maybe one day) buyers can't be wrong 😁

That's something that I believe will be corrected. I don't see how *not*
remembering settings could be a deliberate feature.

#GIVEBACKOLDBRICKLINK

Good morning

There are an awful lot of people who use this site who support your views, but
unfortunately Bricklink have made up their minds as to what they are doing and
where they are going with the site. It takes more than getting used to to understand
all the 'new' features (those that work properly or have been fixed to
work. A very large number of stores have reflected a rather dramatic fall in
sales since the impact of the change and we have had comments from buyers who
are both confused and dismayed by what has taken place.

Having said that, it does appear that we are stuck with it, if we wish to continue
with Bricklink.

The way the site looks is definitely down to personal taste - we share your views
- some others do not and on a forum like this that is probably as normal as can
be.

The proof of the effect the changes have made is in the 'eating' so to
speak and we have now had two consecutive months at significantly lower activity/order
levels than what was expected (and very much against the historical data for
our shop). This was reflected in the fees that we paid Bricklink for June and
will be the same for July (unless there is a dramatic change over the last remaining
days).

You are definitely not alone or isolated - despite some of the comments you see
here.
