request for set 5056 has anything to do with set 6989.

Is there a mistake in this post? If not, I do not understand what the change
request for set 5056 has anything to do with set 6989.

Because of the required variant for set 6989, the "b" version of the part was
introduced by 1990 at the latest (likely 1989 or even earlier). It would follow
that set 5056 from 1993 also has the "b" variant.
