Hi,

I would like to see an option (like complete/incomplete) for excluding supelots
from the pricelist. It completeley messes up average pricings, because some people
make one lot of their superlot outrageous high in price and the others just 1
cent. It would be nice if people would use more realistic pricing, but I don't
think that's gonna happen, so that's why I propose this.

How do I get a vote button???

Kind regards,
Remko van Rosmalen

Superlots are marked with an (S) on the catalog page, isn't that good enough?
Foe example...

Minifig No: sh174 Name: The Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) - Printed Black Legs, Reddish Brown Hair
*
sh174 (Inv) The Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) - Printed Black Legs, Reddish Brown Hair
Minifigures: Super Heroes: Avengers Age of Ultron

I think he wants it so that superlot prices aren't included in the price
guide averages. Right now the (s) by them still includes them when calculating
average prices.

Ah, well, I guess I would have to agree with that then. I do hate to see the
superlot ability abused, and this at least would fix the price guide.

Good suggestion. I vote yes.

In your settings, you can already exclude incomplete sets from showing in the
Price Guide. See:

http://www.bricklink.com/priceGuideSettings.asp

So it should not be too difficult to code an additional setting for superlots.

Good suggestion. I vote yes.

So you want to penalize sellers who use the superlot function in good faith and
don't mess up the PG?
I voted no of course!

There's more abuse than honest use of that function.

The abuse permanently distorts the price guide history, and that's a serious
problem.

As long as you can't back up this claim with reliable numbers I disagree.
Misuse of superlots is more noticeable, though, but I claim that the majority
of superlots are honest. They are less visible as they are in the normal range
of the PG and not on the low end with one item.

Just personal experience: I encounter superlot abuse very regularly, and I haven't
yet casually encountered a honest use of a superlot when browsing normally.

Like I said:

We need a way to filter these out, abuse or not.

How does giving some buyers the option to exclude superlot prices from price
guide averages "penalize" sellers who use superlots? They can still list their
superlots at whatever price they want and those superlots can still be seen in
search results.

Do you also think sellers of incomplete sets are "penalized" because members
have the option to exclude incomplete set prices from price guide averages?

BTW, superlots can already be excluded from any search result. So again, how
does merely excluding superlot prices from price guide averages hurt superlot
sellers?

I don't want to penalize anyone. I just don't think ALL user will use
the superlot-lotvalues in a "right" manner. So if I can switch superlots on and
off, just like complete/incomplete, I get a more realistic pricelist. If you
want to have an example, check the pricelist for this:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=col13-3

In no way the average price is a realistic view of the items available for single
selling.

I will kindly ask you to reconsider your vote

Remko

got my seal of approval, i'd like to also make it an option where all superlots
can be excluded from searches if not already so.

I think a superlot can be a good functional tool.

But I do see too much misleading use of superlots.
I see it the most in CMF, the most expensive CMF in that serie is put in the
superlot with a low price misleading buyers and disturbing the priceguide.

Therefore I voted 'yes'.

Yes, I am good with this.

I add sellers to my least favorite list when I see super lot combinations where
one (or a few) items are on the low end of the price scale, and others on the
very high end of the price scale.
Some super lots make logical sense to me, others look like an attempt to manipulate
something.
