Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 8855 Name: Prop Plane
*
8855-1 (Inv) Prop Plane
573 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 1988
Sets: Technic: Model: Airport

* Change {62 to 65} Part Black 4459 Technic, Pin with Friction Ridges Lengthwise WITHOUT Center Slots

Comments from Submitter:
61 are needed for the plane and 4 extra pins are needed to use the electric motor from set 8700.
So its a total of 65 for this set.

I'll have to look at the instructions and count all of them. This is going
to take some time, and at the moment I've got this turtle project going.
It should be taken care of by the weekend, though.

I counted 61 for the prop plane model. I am looking into the alternate build
right now.

Cheers,
Randy

I counted 62 for the alternate model. So, a minimum of 62 are definitely needed
for both main builds.

Then it gets tricky.

The back of the instruction manual for 8855 does show it being combined with
set 8700. Set 8700 does not include any black pins, so any extra pins to add
the power pack would have to be included in 8855. What I am not sure of yet is
whether any extra pins are needed for this or whether pins that are already in
the prop plane model are being repurposed. It will take a little bit to figure
this out.

Cheers,
Randy

As far as I can tell, the four pins needed to build the assembly to add the power
pack from 8700 are not repurposed from disassembling the prop plane model. Therefore,
they would have to also be included in set 8855.

The only question now is if the set came with:

(1) 61 pins (main model) plus an extra four pins for the change to the main model
(65 total);
(2) 62 pins (alternate model) plus an extra four pins for the change to the main
model (66 total); or
(3) 62 pins (alternate model) plus an extra *three* pins to ensure the changes
necessary to the main model when combined with set 8700 (65 total)?

It is two 65s against one 66, so a change to 65 sounds good.

Cheers,
Randy

No problem, Russell. I had been looking at it already, but the prodding by the
OP made me finish the task.
