It appears there are 2 versions of instructions for this set. The early version,
which you have, is reflected in the set images. The newer version has a modified/improved
vehicle elevator rack system which uses an extra yellow 1 x 2 tile, and replaces
a 1 x 4 white brick with a combination of 4 pieces:

1x WHITE:

Part No: 3023  Name: Plate 1 x 2
*
3023 Plate 1 x 2
Parts: Plate
2x WHITE:

Part No: 3710  Name: Plate 1 x 4
*
3710 Plate 1 x 4
Parts: Plate
and 1x RED:

Part No: 2422  Name: Bracket 2 x 2 - 1 x 4
*
2422 Bracket 2 x 2 - 1 x 4
Parts: Bracket

Your requests account for the yellow tile, the red bracket, and the white brick,
but the white plates are still a problem. And we have to make changes to the
inventory in such a way that both versions are represented.

What I have done is to represent the original version of the set in the regular
section, linking the substitute parts (for the second version) in the alternate
section via match number 1.

If you have access to a scanner or camera, could you please post an image to
this thread of step 8 in your version of the instructions? Thanks!

A side question.

Does anyone actually have the original pieces for this set?
I am trying to track down where my
[p=46212]
in white originally came from, and I'm thinking they might have come from
this set.

Hi Andy

Yes they came with the 'without' side supports,open studs and the partn°
is 2454.
Same for this set:

Set No: 6349 Name: Vacation House
*
6349-1 (Inv) Vacation House
193 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 1988
Sets: Town: Classic Town: Building

The newer (like in set 60003) are with closed studs and 'with' side supports,
also partn° 2454.

Mabye we need a 2nd part and the 2454 is the 'without' and the '2454b'
'with' supports.
