I would like to suggest for Brick Link 2.0 that the forum block goes both ways.

Not only can you not see what the other person is posting, but they cannot see
your posts either.

I believe that will solve a lot of disputes.

Thank you.

And just in case this is ever implemented...Mods need to be exempt. We have to
read all of it ...

Less MODs of course. This is for dispute resolution only.

I believe that a LEGO site comprised of adults should be able to act like adults
and not need to implement nanny filters since it's members can't exercise
restraint.

"Should" being the tricky word, there.

Really...Dealing with school age children is often easier...

Personally I didn't think we had an Ignore/block list aside from stop-list.

I want to make sure I understand your suggestion.

If a forum reader decides that they don't want to see my posts anymore, and
they put me on their ignore list, then I won't be able to see their posts?

Why would I want someone else to have any control over what I am allowed to read?
I can take care of that myself. If I don't want to read something, I simply
don't read it. I have precisely zero people on my ignore list.

If you mean something else, please clarify. If you mean the above, then it's
a huge NO vote from me.

+1 Thats exactly what he said. I agree.

+1

I am on one ignore list. I do not ignore anyone. This does not cause any problems.
I want to control what I read, I do not need somebody else to decide this for
me.

All either of the parties have to do is log out, and they will be able to read
each other's posts.

A definite no from me.

As others have said I want to be able to control what I read, but also what happens
if I decide to flame someone on here or complain about a seller who didn't
handle an order the way I wanted, all I would need to do is block them so they
can't read it and they would have no recourse to what I say.

Also the way it is now the ignore feature is anonymous, I am on 1 ignore list
but cannot see who it is (although I am aware who it is) if this suggestion was
implemented everyone would easily be able to see who is ignoring them and then
complain about them on the forum again with no recourse because the message would
not be able to be read.

I'm not suggesting this would be common practice but I can think of a handful
of people that might use this to there advantage.

Voted no for the same reason.

I have to vote NO.

Really, anyone that gets into a forum war-of-words with another gets everything
that is coming to them.

One of the joys of growing up is learning when to and when NOT to engage someone,
as well as when to disengage.
