Hello dear LEGO Colleagues,

Now, I will try to come up right to the point. -
________________________________________________

It would be just great - if Administrators, of this great site, came up for the
the permanent rule for all the sellers, to add ACTUALL photos, especially for
the LEGO sets!

As this is very anoing, when You contact member, asking for some real photos,
and seller, says something like this: " .... hey man, look at my feedback, its
100% nice, dont be afraid ....." or " .... legos is unasabled..." or something
from this point.

So, here You go - how can You buy lego set for like 70+ EU then cant see the
actuall item!?
________________________________________________

Would be nice, to hear some other opinions from other BL members.

If a seller is unwilling to send me a quick picture, then I am unwilling to send
them money. Simple as that! There are many sellers who will take the time to
send you a picture.

Hang-on.....

Maybe this is the case for some sellers....

I once had a lengthy discussion/negotiation with a potential buyer over a set,
and even after supplying the pictures (my time) I didn't sell the set.

So, maybe it's that factor of time being involved with a potential sale and it
falling through puts people off from supplying their own pictures etc etc

No worries or issues with me as I rarely sell sets. (all of the used ones I have
are dismantled anyway)

Posting actual photos for every set would be a major hassle and I love the fact
that BL does not require it. However if you asked for a photo I would gladly
provide it. If you have encountered a seller who is not willing then I would
simply bypass that particular seller. I don't think in most cases they are trying
to avoid showing you something, but rather for some the hassle is too great,
they're not set up for it, not very technologically savvy, etc. Especially for
used sets: rather than being built they are often just inventoried and bagged
for storage, so a photo would just show you parts in a bag. But again here, I
had a 0 feedback buyer ask me for photos of a used set to see the condition of
the parts, I obliged, and he purchased!

I allways make photos of my used sets and new sets when the box is not perfect,
otherwise the description is efficient - very good condition of the box...

Ico used sets, might be a good idea. For new sets it is not neccessary imo.

Hi Romas,

Photos often say more than words and I believe Photos may give the Buyer as well
as the Seller more safety, when it comes to Minifig/Box/Instruction Condition/Quality.

I do understand your point. Nevertheless, it takes a lot of time for a seller
to unpack unassembled packed sets to build them for photos of the condition,
just to unassemble them right after and pack them back into my stock.

As an alternative when I get picture requests of sets in my store, I would take
out minifigs, special parts (sails/white bricks/wall pieces/printed parts), and
instruction for Photos. The reason for white parts is to show stain-free condition.
I also apologize, and explain to members why I can not assemble the complete
set.

Many Greetings Tony

In most cases, a new set looks the same.
If you are looking for conditions, then you can ask.
The reason it shouldn't be 'a rule',
1) is what if you are selling 100 copies of the same set, that photo is only
good for the set in question. Are you to take 100 photos of the same set? Then
that means they have to sell you that particular set
2) the photo is only good to describe the condition of the box 'at that moment
in time'.. So, should a seller re-take photos every week? every time they move
a set around.. All those things can impact a box. Hey, tape can come loose over
time even without being moved
3) You can always ask for a picture, if they refuse or feel it's not worth their
time, then move on. I think we've encountered someone that actually charges
for both pictures and postal quotes, feeling that someone who asks the question
will never really buy.

I would like to see new users listing a lot of sets have to demonstrate that
they own them though.
Video tour maybe of their storage room.

Hello,

Well, to be more clear - I'am not talking about the 100 photos of the one set
in one auction.

For me - for the first glance, would be nice to have a first look, at only one
photo ( full set, on desk with instructions ). Just like on E-bay, where You
can see the real item wich is for sale.

So, - I realy understand, that You can allways ask for some spare pictures from
the seller ( as is it now ), but it is really time/money consuming, especially,
when You are waiting for like 4/5 days to get the answer, and You get negative
reply, or even seller do not reply at all ....

So - Some descriptions like: "Black Falcons Fortress" full. Good instructions.
- dont say nothing to me, even if seller have 100% feedback.
________________________________________________

I think, is is kinda problem, that some sellers, just have "steady" buyers, and
dont care to answer for new ones.

Someone asked me for photos of the

Set No: 10030 Name: Imperial Star Destroyer - UCS
*
10030-1 (Inv) Imperial Star Destroyer - UCS
3106 Parts, 2002
Sets: Star Wars: Ultimate Collector Series: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6
set I have for sale.
But didn't specify anything else.. Just a photo.

So, I have this in a box, in plastic bags.. What did they want? The box it was
in, the bags they were in, did they want to see it assembled? (probably wasn't
going to happen)
Did they want to see the instructions, the sticker, the conditions of the bricks?

It was just a photo that they requested, so I took a few, but since I never got
a reply back, I have no idea if I answered their question with the pictures I
took

So, let's say I take a picture and post it with the set, what am I taking a picture
of ? The bricks and instructions just lying on a surface?
Or should I build it, in which case, you are really only seeing the bricks that
are visible, maybe 30% I suppose?

They wanted to see that you had the set.
A pic of the open box full of 3000 grey pieces and some other stuff.
Another pic of instructions and sticker would be nice.

But most people asking for pics aren't really buying.
So that's where I'd start, estimating their interest before doing anything.

I would say yes, but for a cut off point of a level of money. Say 50 or more
(US dollars).

I don't think it would be very practical as some sellers literally have hundreds
of sest to sell ...
For a lot of people (the non-professionals I mean) Bricklink is already too time-consuming
and it would only add to their workload.

For 99,95% of the cases I don't really see the point either: why do you absolutely
need to see a picture of a 70$ set? It can't be very rare for that price, so
I don't think box condition can be that important.

No, I think it's only logical you ask the seller for a picture of the set; if
he/she's refusing you that, just shop somehwere else; there's literally thousands
of sellers here.

Reki

PS: by the way, there's no point at all in posting a "suggestion". No one from
the admins has bothered to even look at suggestions for over 2 years now.
