I was wondering if it was possible to add new data entry of all sets:

Bar code (ISBN)

With that added, add ability to find sets quickly by using bar code scanner.

We were discussing something like that in chat.

I say it should show the price guide average and the part out average.

Thats precisely the conversation that led to this suggestion.

Essentially, if Bricklink allows a field in the database to enter the barcode
number, then the boffins who write the apps can do any number of things that
might be useful to various sections of the community. (maybe there would have
to be some back system tweaking to allow it to be read and connected together?)

There can be apps for finding price guide info, part out value, search those
available to sale, maybe even check your own inventory to see if youve already
got one .......

Of course theres always the arguement to just enter the set number... but that
doesnt cover the countless gear items where it isnt clear which number to search
for or in some cases its in the catalog under a different number or a name because
it doesnt have a number ...

I like it but you may have to have multiple bar codes per set. The same product
can show up with different UPC codes in different places.

It shouldnt be too hard to add method to support up to N barcode numbers per
set.

Quick bump for some ideas/ramblings:

01. If we were to collect the barcodes for each set, it should show how serious
we are about this.
02. As Rolf said in chat, "theres thousands of sellers selling boxes yeah", so
the above should not be too hard.
03. Yes, as stated before, the barcodes may vary by region/release/box (like
those sets with two boxes). If you have the set number from the catalog, I'd
add that and your region to your barcode list.

I'm making a list of the barcodes from the Bionicle boxes and sealed sets that
I have for sale.
