| I was told nicely to change our name when some took offense to it.
I did.
It took a month and our offending name is still there under our current name.
I would like ask that if this occurs that an email be sent to the person, then
the name be changed without the offending name being put under the (XXXXXX) name.
Once we found out that the word "pimp" offended, I wanted to change it, but it
took my 30 days.
We modeled it under the "Pimp my ride" program. Adult program=adult name.
A poster on here just posted on the forums. I am sure some will be upset with
his colorful choice of names.
Thank you for your consideration.

Vote Yes
As for the word "Pimp", I had no idea the word had an alternate meaning until
the show "Pimp your Ride" came out.
Maybe over time this use of the word will become more common than the more offensive
use of the word.

I would vote YES if it was a majority vote by all members.
My thought is if you did not like 'Pimp' in the name then don't buy from them.

| Sir, I am offended by the use of the word "war" in your username and the OP's
name bragging about "BigBricks" (which is often done to compensate for certain
um.. shortcomings).
I know this suggestion means well, but where do you draw the line on what someone
somewhere might find offensive? I remember a few years back a new member joined
BL whose username was not particularly supportive of then-president Bush. He
was blasted in the forum and some complained to Admin that they found his usermane
offensive even though there was nothing vulgar and profane about it. I know we
cannot discuss religion or politics in the forum, but do we want a similar ban
to extend to usernames such as "DemsRule", "NoBama", "GodlyBricks, "GodBlessTexas"
or "LordSkylark" (some of which are actual usernames here). What about "TheDogFarted"
for a store name and "FriendsofFoster" (which is REALLY offensive to a few here)?
No, the latter - though real - is not a duplicate account of mine. LOL
This suggestion might be better if it were tweaked to ban obvious profanity in
usernames and store names. But other than that, the only "ban" should be the
one that naturally happens in the market when someone chooses a name that so
many customers find offensive or tasteless enough to not want to have anything
to do with you.

How many languages do you speak? What may seem inoffensive in one world, may

So long as it doesn't violate laws, who cares? ( yeah, laws... I care about

If one wants to be "Im a big jerk and I'll rip you off at every chance I get"
If it fits in the allowed space, why not?
Seriously, who'd name themselves or their store "I'm a child porn star"
Let's just behave in a somewhat slightly serious modicum of decency...

Seems to me that it is just not a good name for a store that deals in building
toys. I could have named mine Naked Barbies Inc, but what would that do to business?
Foremost when advertising a business try to make the name friendly and conducive
to the business you are involved in.
I am not sure how Fuddruckers got their name. I would like to see the choices

True, those may not be good names, but are they offensive enough to be banned?
What about FuchsBrichs for a member whose family name is Fuchs? BTW, I have a
friend with that last name who enjoys seeing how people awkwardly go out of their
way to avoid saying his last name. Remember also that the name "john" is also
slang for something else. And then there is the name "Diana" which often causes
surprised looks in Japan.

Are we voting on the subject line, or the content? The subject line would imply
a banning of offensive user names. That brings up a lot of questions like who
decides what is offensive, how it is enforced, etc.
I thought the core of the suggestion message text was that the old username be
displayed as "XXXXXX" in the month transition before new username is implemented.
That seems fine with me.

Because the first is more important?
I still find the store name of the OP quite offensive. I don't understand why
name is accepted here.
best regards

| I was told nicely to change our name when some took offense to it.
I did.
It took a month and our offending name is still there under our current name.
I would like ask that if this occurs that an email be sent to the person, then
the name be changed without the offending name being put under the (XXXXXX) name.
Once we found out that the word "pimp" offended, I wanted to change it, but it
took my 30 days.
We modeled it under the "Pimp my ride" program. Adult program=adult name.
A poster on here just posted on the forums. I am sure some will be upset with
his colorful choice of names.
Thank you for your consideration.

Doesnt bother me, in fact I'll be honest (pimp) didnt bother me either. Lego
is my addiction and I would do anything for them so maybe I need a Lego pimp????
