Kwartaal
na kwartaal daalt het volume met 10 procent."

Gek he? Volgend jaar zal dit dan waarschijnlijk 20% worden.

It was paid ánd canceled by Bricklink.

How can this happen?
Does Bricklink allow buyers to pay with PayPal Onsite with a pay button, although
they choose to pay by bank (IBAN)?

Strange thing is: I give 3% credit if buyers pay with IBAN and the PayPal payment
was without this credit. So the amount was correct for PayPal payment.

Despite that, I wouldn't like to receive PayPal payment if someone chooses
IBAN.

Is this a known problem? I never experienced it before.

Same thing happened to me when a buyer said he had some API error with the Paypal
payment. Paypal showed it as a cancelled payment in my account. Although in my
case the order was manually invoiced so I don't know how it would work with
instant checkout. But I guess that your buyer originally placed the order with
Paypal but got an error when trying to pay (the cancelled payment in your Paypal
account). And then placed the order again with IBAN as payment method.

Why didn't I think of that?
That must be it.
I had buyers before though who contacted me about these errors, but it didn't
cause a canceled PayPal payment on my account.

Thanks Paul.

Diana

Is that even possible? Changing payment method without adding another batch?

If PayPal onsite doesn't work, there is no order yet.

They were definitely available as an accessory in the Build-a-Minifig stations
here in the U.S., because that is where I got mine.

Cheers,

ok, thanks both.

Some seller must have send me the wrong ones then, because I haven't been
to a Pick a Brick for ages and they don't come in any set.

This is frustrating news for sellers.

Earlier this year, we notified you that we were updating our User Agreement
to change our refund policy. We want to let you know that the policy change is
going into effect beginning on October 11, 2019.

In line with industry practice and according to our updated policy, we will not
charge a fee to process refunds, but the fees from the original transaction will
not be returned. This policy will not apply to duplicate transactions, voids
and most disputed transactions.

I have yet to be able to find this anywhere on their website. When it was first
announced and now again. Is this across the board for ever country?

Because I think Canada may be exempt. Any Canadians receive this email?

Tyson

Not sure if it applies to Canada, I found it in our user agreement, under Refunds,
Reversals and Chargebacks:

"If you refund a payment for goods or services, we will retain the fixed fee
portion of the fees you paid as the seller. The amount of the refunded payment
will be deducted from your PayPal account."

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full?utm_source%3Depsilon&utm_campaign=T_EM_201909_US_22590_Return%20Fee_DataBuild_US_US&utm_medium=email

That is not it, we have that same provision and its been around for a long time.
What it means is that in the event of a partial refund, paypal keeps some of
the fees.

Our fees for EUR transactions: 3.9% + EUR0.35
So for example: Transaction is EUR27.88, fees are: EUR1.09 (Variable) + EUR0.35
(Fixed) = EUR1.44 Total

On a full refund from me as the seller, all of the fees are refunded by Paypal;
On a partial refund: Say EUR20.00 only EUR0.78 is refunded (only 3.9%), same
on EUR27.00, again only 3.9% at EUR1.06.

When I send a full refund, PayPal also keeps the fixed fee of 0.35 euro.

Starting at EUR27.52 in the example, a pro-rata portion of the fixed fee is also
refunded up to 27.88, at which point everything is refunded again.

I've not had any communication from paypal regarding refunds of fees, only
the increase in fees which kicked in on 23 September, with no change in the above
policy. I've always paid that portion of the fixed fee on smaller refunds.

  Hi,

Does anyone know if payment with PayPal Onsite on Bricklink overwrites the PayPal
address with the Bricklink address?

Thanks in advance.

Diana

You mean on paypal's address settings when you pay? If so, yes.

If you try to change it whilst paying with paypal, a message pops up to say that
the address detail is from the store and that it must be changed by the store
concerned.

It would appear that sellers cannot change the address, and buyers would have
to cancel the order to effect a change in address. Merely changing it in BL after
the order has been placed does not work.

HTH

Hi Jean

If you alter the address when placing the order it works, but as I said do not
mark change this to default. After the order has been raised it cannot be changed
via Bricklink.

The design was flawed from the beginning and has stayed that way ever since they
released the feature.

We have multiple paypal address and 2 addresses for Bricklink activities so we
go through this on an order by order basis. If you create a temporary address
at checkout which coincides with a valid Paypal address it works.

Yep, same problem with me - I have at present about 8 addresses for freight forwarders
I can use in different countries. BL also does not allow a change to the country
when placing the order, you have to change the actual country address in your
account settings for that to take effect. Of course for domestic orders it is
not a problem, but it is really an issue when placing international orders.

Also, sometimes I do not want to go through that rigmarole so I just message
the seller and ask them to use the forwarding address, but then of course the
onsite payment does not change the address from my home address. This is not
ideal for all sellers. For a manual payment through paypal, I have manged to
change addresses in paypal, but never for onsite.

A really cumbersome affair, which should have been changed long ago. Interestingly
paypal does not allow addresses in multiple countries and also blocks your account
if you log in from a different country when travelling, at least until you do
verification of your address and identity again.

I believe I am more confused now as I was before

I am the seller.
An Briclink 'EU-member' orders in my store.
He sends an off-site PayPal payment, which I refunded, because I wouldn't
have had seller protection. Buyer's PayPal account is from outside the EU,
where he lives.
The second payment, using PayPal Onsite, shows the exact same EU-address as Bricklink
shows.

I was happy with this, because now I do get seller protection. So I wondered
if a PayPal onsite payment ALWAYS overwrites the address.

Or (do I understand now) that it is a choice a buyer can make??

Unfortunately I don't have much experience myself (as a buyer). Most orders
are paid by IBAN ánd I only have one address to worry about

Diana

You did right. On the offsite payment the buyer was supposed to change his address
in paypal when he paid the order as a common courtesy to you so that you have
matching addresses for the address and the order. I do not know the situation
elsewhere, but here it is quite difficult to do since you cannot change the paypal
address beyond 4 digits on he postal code. So correct you refunded.

When the buyer made the payment onsite, the address is "supplied" by you from
the order detail. So if he has an address on Brciklink different to his normal
address and country in Paypal, the Bricklink address will be used, and it will
overwrite the actual Paypal address every time. The buyer will not be able to
change it in paypal at all. As a matter of fact, you should see only that address
in your transaction list in paypal.

So you now have seller protection and of course you only need to provide proof
that the forwarding address received the goods, no sweat.

Great, thanks! What a relief

Again I refunded a payment. This time for an off-site payment.
Buyer from outside EU, has a UK PayPal account. Payment shows an addres outside
EU in the United Kingdom. It says I do have seller protection, but when I phoned
PayPal, they told me I DO NOT!!

Buyer told me he got an error when trying to pay with PayPal Onsite.
Probably, because the country on BL is not the same as on PP?!

Thought it too good to be true, it's worked well for 24 hours.

It really makes me SICK!!!

It's not you. It's us.
Something's just not right between us (500).
Maybe at another time things would be different?
We just can't connect now. No hard feelings?
Try refreshing the page or try again later.

No hard feelings?
Can't even describe my feelings, so HARD.....

Maybe 'US' can do something about it, for it's NOT RIGHT indeed!

As it appears this morning, the navigation on the site is largely broken. When
I am on the My Orders list, I cannot reach any of the menus (like Market, Studio,
Community, Sell, My BL, Want etc.) any more. The tabs do not show up and clicking
on the symbols at the top of the site has no effect. It only works on from Wanted
list, and from the frontpage of BL. Everything else is dead.

Anyone havig similar experience? I use Firefoy 67.0.1 on a Windows 7 system,
but tested also with an older Internet Explorer which gives the same result (site
not working properly).

Same here.
For every action I have to open another Bricklink session.
It was before and after the daily maintanance.
So I'm afraid we will have to wait untill Tuesday, to be able to work again
properly?!

Also Mass Feedback doesn't work as it should.

  Hi,

since the daily maintenance, we can't enter any stores - just getting ERROR
500. Anybody else experiencing this problem?

Best regards,
Wanja from MagicMagnus

I couldn't even enter Bricklink.
1 hour lost: 07:50 - 08:50

6 days ago the same problem, right after daily maintenance.

Not happy with this, nor with Bricklink's response to problems

- forum, no response
- facebook, no response
- customer support, no response

We just have to sit and wait and loose income!
We will never know what the problem was, or how it got fixed, for
during this time 1:50 - 2:50 USA this couldn't be fixed by Bricklink.
"It's not you, it's us". That's about the only thing that seems right.
After contacting other sellers that is.

The only thing we receive from Bricklink is the bill every month. That's
it.

Or does somewhere out there have another experience??

Hi Donna,

Thank you for your time. Nice to see that there are people out there who want
to help me.
So, thank you all for doing that.

DNS settings, changing IP addresses…. is indeed to technical for me, so I need
some professional help on this. Hope it will be gone soon.

Problem is that once in a while it works fine, for an hour or less.
So I hope if someone comes, he can see the problem.
Not like finally going to the dentist and when you arrive the pain is gone

Thanks again all.

Kind regards,
Diana

So sorry you are having trouble. The speed of your connection is equal to the
"SLOWEST piece of equipment" on the route to the website you want to visit.

So that means if there is a connection that includes a 56kb dial up modem (very
very old technology) then from that point, your data that says you want to look
at BL, will run very very slow. (this is an over exaggerated story to make it
easier for some to understand). It can also be a broken or badly performing piece
of equipment that no one knows needs fixing.

That means the route your request to see FaceBook takes is different than the
route your request to see BL goes. It may not be your computer, but it could
be another piece of equipment somewhere along the route, and out of your control.
Your DNS settings can help if you change the IP numbers to something different.
Google: "google dns servers: and it will give you some numbers that are different
and that change may be a faster route to BL.

There is also a link to show you how to change them. This change is not for
novices, don't change anything you don't understand unless you are being
helped by someone who does.

Again, I am sorry it's so frustrating for you. As someone else said, you
are not alone. Trying to help long distance through a forum is difficult for
us.

HTH
Donna

p.s. opening this thread took 4 minutes

I don't know where you get your internet connection at, but if possible try
somewhere else. Sounds like a traffic congestion between you and BL. Find someone
technically savy and ask them to assist you by running a traceroute. That should
help to pin down the problem.

Nita Rae

Well, I'm afraid the only thing left is to get technical assistance.
CCleaner was ready in seconds. Didn't expect it otherwise.

The internet connection seems fine.

I'm not very technical myself, but I really don't understand that I am
ONLY having problems with Bricklink. Not with Facebook, Brickowl, Marktplaats,
Administration software, banking, etc etc etc. No problems at all, only with
Bricklink. THE site that I depend on to make my living

I started this morning at 4.00 (over ten hours ago).
So far I updated about 5 items, send one message and opened and replied to this
thread.
The rest of the time I wasted on cleaning, installing browsers and cleaningsoftware
and restart my desktop.

I had the same problem today. The loading of a page took approximately 1 minute.
This problem has nothing to do with your computer.

Now at this moment everything is just normal again.

It looks normal over here also now.
I didn't do anything else after my last message and I was having big problems
from 4AM til 4PM.

Could it be the provider? Do you use KPN?
