I was having the same issue. I had created a variant want list per a previous
forum post on variants that I was using to see what variants I had in my inventory.
Once I deleted that want list the issue cleared up.

1.) Use Pirateship. It integrates with Paypal.

a.) Printing labels on your own is significantly cheaper than paying retail
rates.

2.) Brick Freedom works well for picking orders, automating feedback, and posting
tracking info.

3.) Buy a Zebra LP2844 thermal printer. If you search eBay by new listings, they
can be had shipped for under $50. They are old but are built like tanks. I buy
as/is models and have never had an issue getting them to work. (I stopped buying
after 4 of them because I had too many)

The Chinese thermal printers you can buy off of Amazon are sold by fly by
night sellers. Good luck getting support (drivers) a couple years after you buy
or replacing the printhead.

I didn't realize that Pirate Ship would integrate with PayPal. Thanks for
the information; I will give it a try. I like Pirate Ship better than ShipStation
but I have been using ShipStation because I had learned that it integrated with
PayPal for free. I had continued using the free Pirate Ship service for Stripe
orders. It would be nice to consolidate all orders with one good service that
works well.

I will also look into the Zebra printers; however I will likely need to have
a larger order volume to justify the expense of the hardware and labels.

Thanks for your answer. Your explanation was vey helpful. From the description
of the Groups under Shipping Settings, I couldn't really understand how what
the groups were suppose to do. I gave it a try per your instructions and it
worked!

Pirate Ship is good. I concur with what everyone else said about it.. Another
option you may want to consider is ShipStation. It is free to use with your
PayPal orders and ties right in with address pre-filled in. However, for Stripe
or other payment orders you would still need to use Pirate Ship for a free service..

I don’t use a special printer for the labels. Just a basic inkjet with plain
paper. You have to cut out the label and tape it on the package. A bit of extra
work, but if you are not a high volume seller not too bad and saves money on
special printer and labels.

I am a long time seller but a relativity latecomer to Instant Checkout. I have
been using IC with good success for about a year but still a bit shaky on how
it works. Recently, with the introduction of USPS Ground Advantage, I have been
trying to revamp my shipping settings to improve shipping options for my customers.
However, I am stymied in how to get it to work properly.

Since Ground Advantage does not have the 16 oz weight restriction that First
Class Mail had, I want to offer this option for packages of any weight. However,
I also want to offer an option for USPS Priority Mail for customers to who may
want to receive their Lego shipments faster regardless of weight.

I have set up an IC shipping method for both Ground Advantage and Priority Mail,
but as best as I can tell, at checkout it defaults to the Ground Advantage option
and does not give customers a choice to select Priority Mail.

Does anyone know if what I am trying to do is possible?. And If so, how to I
set it up so that it works properly?

Thanks,
Mike

  Hey people on Bricklink,

I found this set here and I am wondering how much it would be worth. It has all
the parts, including the box and I've checked and it looks 100% complete.

Set No: 9605 Name: 4.5V Technic Resource Set - Small

9605-3 (Inv) 4.5V Technic Resource Set - Small
268 Parts, 1985
Sets: Educational & Dacta: Technic

Whats it worth?

I would suggest referring to the Part Out Value in the Price Guide tool under
the Bricklink Market tab. It will give you some indication of what the individual
parts might sell for. The results for the "Average of Last 6 Months Sales" is
likely to be a better indicator than the "Current items for Sale Average"

Thanks. That is what I was looking for. Related question - is there a log somewhere
that shows all the past history of parts that have have been re-categorized?

There is a link to the Change log near the bottom of every catalog item page
that has a change history. (Chg Log)

There are logs available on the main Catalog page. It's called What's
New. (thanks BrickLink! great name)

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogReqList.asp?viewYear=&viewMonth=&viewGeDate=&q=&viewStatus=1&itemType=P&viewAction=P

That's Changes -- To Items
Status: Completed
Item Type: Parts
Change: Item Category Change

Hope that helps!
Jen

Thanks. I always seem to forget to look at the links on the bottom of the page.

I agree. This should be a fairly commonsense and noncontroversial move.

let me know if I should just hold on to similar
thoughts until the reclassification project is officially launched.

Yes, please do hold onto your ideas for changes until then. It won't be
long now.

Thanks, I will start making my list.

I am posting this now for the announced reclassification project.

This part is currently classified as Vehicle, Base. While it is a vehicle base,
I would propose it is a better fit in Aircraft category.

Part No: 35106 Name: Aircraft Fuselage 4 x 16 x 1 with 2 x 10 Recessed Center and 8 x 4 Wings with Cutaways, 9 Holes
*
35106 Aircraft Fuselage 4 x 16 x 1 with 2 x 10 Recessed Center and 8 x 4 Wings with Cutaways, 9 Holes
Parts: Aircraft

There are no similar airplane parts in the Vehicle Base category while there
are some similar items in the Aircraft category, such as this:

Part No: 18929c01 Name: Helicopter Body with Top Pin
*
18929c01 Helicopter Body with Top Pin
Parts: Aircraft

and

Part No: 41327 Name: Flying Helicopter Model Body
*
41327 Flying Helicopter Model Body
Parts: Aircraft

There are also many other fuselage parts in the Aircraft.

NOTE TO CATALOG ADMINS: I am posting this now, because I happen to be parting
it out and it is on my mind, but let me know if I should just hold on to similar
thoughts until the reclassification project is officially launched.

Thanks for your consideration and all the hard work you do.

  In Suggestions, Shintaku writes:
I personally am fine with three but I've heard people complaining that 3
stockrooms are very few, as you can have a lot of wanted lists, a lot of featured
items, it's limitating that you only have 3.

I don't think it would be dramatic to increaase this number.

What do you thinK?

I don't get the idea of "multiple stockrooms" in the first place. The way
I see it, it is a binary thing: something can either be for sale or not for sale.
(Maybe a second Schrödinger's stockroom for items that are neither for sale
nor not for sale? )

If I understand it correctly, multiple stockrooms are kind of like tagging items
with remarks. The remarks feature already exists. It's overlapping functionality.
I'm guessing multiple stockrooms are needed for inventory operations that
apply to one tag only, and the remarks field is not available for this operation?
Then Bricklink should have made the remarks field available to that operation.
That way, the whole multiple stockrooms thing could have been abolished and at
the same time you would have kept all the functionality. It's like you can
define an infinite number of "stockrooms", but in your remarks.

(Bricklink's cockpit is abandoned and we're left to our own devices,
it's not like it will change of course.. so I say "could have been" )

I like having multiple stockrooms because I use them for multiple purposes (back-stock,
items temporarily removed from sale, items that have been misplaced and need
to be found, sets I am parting out, sets I am considering parting out, parts
for my own use). I often find myself juggling the stockrooms, and wish I had
more, but I manage with three.

I hadn't considered using remarks to keep things categorized. Thanks for
the tip; I will experiment with it and see if it works for me.

But most importantly, it is sad to think we have no pilot or crew for Bricklink.
Is it fated to crash and burn eventually? Do we need to get our parachutes
ready?
