Hello, I'm new to selling, as of today I am at my 27th order. Should I change
the status of an order to shipped after I Drop it of at the post office or when
the package leaves the post office. An insight would be greatly appreciated

My general practice is to change the status to Shipped once I either hand it
over to USPS personnel or drop off the package in a USPS mailing box. This tells
buyers that the package is indeed on its way.

Yeah, those heads have been going back and forth on the metronome of Bionicle
colors. The shiny green ones are Chrome Green, and there are definitely White
AND Pearl White heads, but the red ones have stayed "Red" for a while.

Is there any time line when the Rivendell set inventory will be available? I
see that stores are already selling individual figures under the entry Incomplete
Set, and also complete or partial sets of minifigures using the same type of
entry. What appears unusual is that obviously an incomplete inventory of only
the standard parts has been uploaded some 10 days ago, but not a single one of
the new parts has been included. I wonder if there is a political order by TLG
or the BL Admins to hold back on this inventory because the sale of individual
parts may negatively impact the sales figures of this expensive set.

Axaday's already on it -- give them time. The items and their images
-- in beautiful detail -- are in the approval waitlist. Large inventories
can either be done quickly or correctly, but rarely both.

When a seller offers free shipping for orders over a certain amount is it customary/expected

Not really. My shop offers free shipping after $80. I will go for the cheapest
shipping when I can, but that kind of money usually means a large amount of parts,
so these orders will typically be sent Priority anyways. But if someone orders
a bunch of minifigs, hits the marks, and it weighs under a pound, they'll
get First Class. It still comes with tracking, and so far, no one has had anything
to say about it one way or the other.

, thx for your ideas .

First off, please read this charitably as my tone is as considerate as I can
be.

After a few years of seeing this come up in the forums from time to time, I'm
going to finally chime in. Your feedback are split fairly well along the buying/selling
lines, so I'm going to assume you had a halfway decent store up and running
before 2018.

The best answer you're going to get here is to do your own homework. We don't
know the local prices for product in your area, nor do we know your store capacity,
buying power, time commitments, etc. There are a lot of variables to consider
when you ask "what should I part out." And even if we had all that info, there
is still the matter of your motivation and view for the future, each of which
are highly personal and highly variable.

The best place to start is to compile a list of all the sets you can acquire,
their prices, their partout values, their contents, and find a set or sets that
hits the sweet spot of what you can afford, what you can process, what you can
store, and what you are excited about selling.

After that, learn, iterate, and learn some more.

Cheers!

What do yours look like, or have you even given thought to the subject?

Pretty decent Top 5, then the long tail starts.

  hi,
how do we differentiate flat silver and pearl light gray ?
thanks

I've dealt with this a lot over the last 18 months.

Here's my best method.

Lay all the parts of the same mold out in the same orientation on a flat surface.
Then, instead of looking at them straight on, move your head off to an angle
off to the side or put the parts at near eye-level. You should find that some
"appear" shinier or darker. The darker ones are Flat Silver, the others are Pearl
Light Gray.

Your mileage may vary using this approach, but it's worked for me pretty
well so far.

In Suggestions, Alico64 writes:
I've made it a habit to count a selection of drawers periodically. Personally,
I track what and when I counted on a spreadsheet, but it would be nice to be
able to enter this in my inventory.

I'm not sure if other users would find this useful or not, but I could at
least bring this up to see if this could be relevant for other users.

So the suggestion is to add another field (could be date specific) that kept
track of when you counted those Remarks/locations. I know the Remarks field could
be used, but a separate one would be better in my opinion.

Thoughts?

I like the idea here -- something to keep track of in-store audits.
I do the same thing; I intermittently audit either a set of trays or cabinets
juuuuust to be sure my inventory is accurate.

The field/button would start blank, then when interacted upon (clicked/changed/etc.),
would update to that day's date to show "Last Audit Date".
