Jennifer explained things rather well already, so I do not have much to add.
(H/T Jen)

I will just simply restate that BrickLink uses the numbers molded into the parts
to number items rather than use the design numbers that the LEGO Group assigns
to the individual decorated parts.

As with all things, this may change in the future, but there are no current plans
to deviate from the process that has always been used to number items here.

Cheers,
Randy

It's frustrating when those numbers will turn up a result on Lego's Bricks
& Pieces but not here, with no obvious way to connect the two.

Edit: 84085 is the black dog 83188pb01 and 84056 is the tan one 83188pb02

When I look here at the images of all the colors for that hair piece

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp?itemType=P&itemNo=25412&v=2

your photo is there with your name under it.

David

I didn’t know that it wouldn’t show up if there wasn’t one for sale/part of a
set. Thanks for checking!
