  Good morning!

We need some advice. Can we easily ship Lego from the UK to Australia?

I was stopped by Royal Mail’s post office as it is considered a toy and considered
restricted goods.

I’ve cancelled and refunded that order to minimise issues but I wondered if anyone
else had solutions for the future.

Also, how do I change the map in the shipping terms to remove Australia? I removed
it from the shipping options but it is still showing that we ship to 100% of
customers when we would like to remove Australia all together?

Thank you for your help!

Never write lego! write collectables, plastic parts, collectable figures or something
along those lines.

I've never had an issue. FYI - if you're going to remove shipping to
Australia due to this you better remove Canada as well!

you're correct -

Complete - Contents are brand new and may have been removed from their plastic
bags and handled for inventorying purposes only. Includes all contents that originally
came with set including extra parts, stickers, instructions (if any) and original
box/packaging.

Maybe the seller doesn't realise or made an error? as for used for it to
be complete it doesn't need to include the box to be considered complete.

Family' please for orders under £3.00'

You really need to take that out of your terms.

If paypal ever cottoned on to this then you would get your account blocked in
an instant!

Did any other UK sellers receive a letter from HMRC a few months back and are
you intending to register in order to continue the importing/exporting of goods?

After reading that I may need software in order to do the declarations myself
or use a broker to do it on my behalf its all sounding a bit too complicated
for just sending a few Lego orders overseas!

It seems the deadline of 31st march for registering for CDS has been extended
to November but after that point I think I will just be doing away with all international
trading!

Didn't get the letter and not heard anything about this.

But I do work in cargo at heathrow airport!

I quick google tells me this is just a new system (CDS) which is replacing the
old system (CHIEF).

The only reason you would need to do customs declarations is if you were shipping
the item yourself - customs declarations aren't required for mail. (i'm
talking about proper customs declarations to HMRC and not the CN22 forms we stick
on mail packages)

This is the letter I received:-
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1083824/You_should_now_start_moving_to_the_Customs_Declaration_Service.pdf

and what your saying seems to make sense as I also had doubts that it was relevant
to my own situation but because of the letter being sent to me by name (Possibly
because I have an EORI number) it was enough to make me feel the need to give
them a call. I explained that I wasn't shipping cargo containers of goods
and simply shipping small Lego orders in the post with CN22's to which she
replied it doesn't matter how small the goods you are exporting everyone
will need to be registered to CDS if they wish to continue importing/exporting?

I don't know if she was poorly trained or something so I may take what she's
saying with a pinch of salt and speak to someone else for more clarity!

I'm going to hazard a guess at poorly trained/new/completely misunderstood
your situation!!

If you don't currently use CHIEF then I honestly can't see why you would
need to register for CDS.

copied from Royal Mail website , tracked and signed can be posted from today

As a result of this progress and the growing capability of our alternative export
solutions, we can now announce that from Thursday 26 January we will be resuming
our International Tracked & Signed as well as International Signed services to
all destinations for business account customers and customers buying postage
online. This includes parcel, large letter and letter formats of these services.
Online shipping solutions will be enabled to allow customers to select these
services, print labels and send items from Thursday 26 January.

Note: Customers in Northern Ireland are also able to submit both export letters
and export parcels for all services bound for Ireland into the Royal Mail network
through all channels. These services are currently only available for customers
based in Northern Ireland.

Delivery of International Tracked & Signed and International Signed items posted
from Thursday 26 January may take slightly longer than usual and customers may
notice different tracking information as items leave the UK.

We continue to ask customers not to submit any new Tracked or Untracked (Standard/Economy)
export parcels into our network just yet. We are aiming to provide further updates
on these services in the coming days.

And yet one of my customers orders (to Ireland) is still sat at Heathrow distribution
centre where it has been sat since 7th January!!

  Hi,

Can anyone help or is familiar with pneumatic hose pieces.

I've got a load of parts from set 8868 to add to my store including a load
of pneumatic hoses pieces which I believe are original but can't be 100%.

it's listed in the catalogue as being black however they're more dark
grey then black, they're only shown as coming in black - part no. 5102.

Can anyone advise if these are likely genuine - I don't want to list them
as black and then someone get upset and say the colour is off!

Thanks
Alex

a photo would help lots!

The photo really doesn’t show the colour very well, hoping someone familiar with
these pieces can chip in!

goes to. I took a couple of pictures o the larger pieces. The pictures are taken
through the plastic so its difficult to see the whole piece, but can anyone identify
what this is or what set it goes to? The first piece is a bronze or copper color
and the other one is dark gray. TIA!

That doesn't look like any kind of plastic bag i've ever seen lego come
in.

Are you sure it's lego and not a knock off?

Thanks for any tips.

You need to submit the IOSS number to customs before the package arrives - normally
done when you purchase shipping.

I know in the UK this does not work if you purchase at the post office - you
need to purchase the postage online.

Have had a spurt of these over the last couple of months - IC is not the answer
for us we need another tool or option, perhaps where we can set a minimum feedback
level for a buyers first order - an option of course and that would allow stores
to choose rather than Bricklink.

I really don't understand why you haven't set up instant checkout.

14 different boxes and we did set it up when it was first introduced. There are
currently over 4000 of the 11000 stores who do not use it for one reason or another.
If you do and it works well for you great that isn't the case for us. It
currently generates about a 5% error rate on shipping and it doesn't deal
well with large lot orders. The terms and conditions for the onsite payment
methods are also unacceptable to us.

so you won't accept an alleged 5% error rate on shipping but complain about
13% of buyers? That to me doesn't make any sense!

I currently have approx 9 or 10 different sized boxes and envelopes - it works
most of the time - the occasional undercharge of postage I can easily swallow
as it's pennies we're talking about. And if it's an overcharge then
you issue a refund - simple! A lot easier and quicker to deal with then NPB's.

And as a buyer - i'll always head to a store with instant checkout over one
that doesn't - the 4000 stores that don't offer IC are missing out.

Honestly from outside point of view it looks like you're making excuses and
are afraid of change. Just my 2p!!

40% of registered members are in North America

I feel so honoured! I finally got the 'everything shop' spam message
that a lot of other members have been getting.

mine was from 'wspam_97raj.fr' - so seems like they're not even trying
very hard - even including spam in the name of the account!

I've obviously reported it but surely bricklink can do something to prevent
all these obvious spam accounts being setup in the first place?

As per the other reply - i've only ever heard of short term results with
