To make a long story short, I saw a very cute build for something my SO would
love on Etsy. But I discovered it long after it sold out and restocks will be
minimal, if at all. I sat down with this site, and a picture of the build and
actually managed to find every single part number.

What is the best way to try and purchase all of these parts though? I can check
one store at a time to see if they have more than just a single piece, but that's
like finding a needle in a haystack. Most of the set is random assortments of
hodgepodge minifigs. I'm really out of my depth here and could use some guidance
on affordably tracking these pieces down. If not, it looks like I'll have
to spend $5 in shipping per part, and $125 just for the minifig parts (hair,
head, torso, legs, accessory) seems excessive to say the least.

Welcome to BL.

Your best and easiest way is to create a "Wanted List". In the upper right,
click the Heart, then create a list. From there, you can then "buy" your list
and it will search the seller for parts to build your order.

Thanks! I didn't know it had that function. That'll make shopping through
stores so much more efficient. Now I just need to copy all the item numbers from
excel to the site hah.

I would recommend using the buy all from your wanted list rather than the easy
buy option the buy all is actually more efficient as I have previously used the
easy buy and even though some parts I added were available from one of the sellers
showing it sourced them from another seller, so now I only use the buy all or
go to a store and search using the wanted list tab in their items.

Would someone in the U.K. be kind enough to point me in the right direction for
a good storage system for my stock, like most I don’t want to spend too much
but I don’t want something that won’t last very long.

I expect i’ll need a large number of boxes/trays to cover all the categories
/ groupings.

Looking to push stock towards 200,000 pieces once I start up again.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Stuart

Although they normally tend to sell out quick, my local Aldi still had some of
their storage racks in stock yesterday. But they were only the ones with the
larger containers down the middle and not the small drawers across the whole
thing. If you have one local to you. you might also get lucky.

Although when I bought mine, I made sure to get their early on the first day
and bought the six with smaller drawers that the store had and have added to
them a couple at a time when they come in again.

I got one of each delivered from Online on Friday I will probably get another
of the 33 drawer ones as for me those will be the more useful, as I want to avoid
using the resealable bags which I have used at the moment in the bigger blue
drawers. Due to quantity I have for some of the more common parts I split them
over multiple drawers these were 1 x 1 plates, 1 x 1 round plates and 1 x 1 slopes
- with the first one I was able to just split between solid colours and trans
colours, with the other two I had to split the solid colours further to light
and dark

  All -

I'm interested in doing a bit of a study. For myself, as a seller and
as a buyer, I'm firmly of the belief that the seller should leave feedback
first. I myself leave feedback when I've shipped the order, even in some
circumstances once the order is packed - at any rate, definitely before the buyer
would leave it. Some have the opposite opinion - that the buyer should leave
feedback first.

Limited evidence (I have a small store, not many orders, maybe my store attracts
a certain kind of buyer?) suggests that leaving feedback when I do has a positive
effect on whether or not I receive feedback in kind. The reason I say this
is that my feedback-to-orders ratio has consistently been between 65-70%, and
yet I've heard that the average feedback-to-orders ratio across BL is more
like 50%. Now I try to be professional and communicative, and because my store
is small I can ship quickly, but many other stores on BL that are larger than
mine offer exemplary service, and I don't think my service is so good as
to account for the higher feedback ratio.

So, if you're willing to answer, would you mind answering with:

- when you leave feedback (before or after the buyer: I don't know if it
has to be specific)
- what your store's current feedback-to-orders ratio is

Thanks!

I'm finding the discussions interesting as a buyer only here my feedback
ratio currently is about 99% posted and 94% received, I leave my feed back when
I mark order as complete whether the seller has left it for me.

I can see the reasons behind why people do the different approaches and can understand
them.

For example:

If you leave it once you have received payment/shipped it the buyer has in essence
completed their part of the transaction and anything that comes up after that
is around after sales service

However if you wait until it is marked complete or a specific timescale and leave
it then you are ensuring that the full transaction including any potential after
sales incidents have been dealt with.

And why do you feel like buyers are happy with their order only if they leave
feedback? I'd assume as long as they don't complain they're happy.
There are many times (not on bricklink) that I just never got around to leaving
feedback though I was satisfied with my purchase.

I rarely leave feedback/reviews on purchase I make on other sites regardless
of what there for, admittedly that maybe partly because of what use I plan for
them

I believe that I might, with great difficulty, get a refund of the VAT in this
situation but I wouldn’t get the collection fee back which in this scenario is
the main cost I want to avoid paying.

I've done multiple EU purchases over the last several months and had no issues
with being charged VAT twice on any occasions.

I think they both do them a couple of times a year. It is just a case of looking
out when they get them at a local store.

It’s been a couple years I haven’t seen them advertized in Lidl’s flyers & app

And they are advertizing LEGO Ninjago bed sets for next Monday…
Small size…

Just get two or more, split them down the side and sew them together

Thought I'd share this as it made me laugh, yesterday I bought and got delivered
from Argos a Lego set 60281 and a pack of 3 smart light bulbs. This morning I
got an email from their support team offering support for my recent purchase,
and thought it might be the smart bulbs, nope it's for the Lego set.

  Hello everyone,

Just wanted to see what you are thinking about adding the packing slip/order
overview to a shipment. Do you prefer this as a buyer? Or are you typically verifying
your order with your tablet or laptop at the side?

Curious to see if the packing slip improves the buyer experience or not.

Cheers,
Arnold

For me I don't find it necessary as probably about 80-90% of the parts I
order are from wanted lists that I have so I always have to go online to be updating
those, which depending on what wanted list they are means deleting them from
there or updating the have quantity.

A lot of the parts I order are to complete second hand sets and I have a Spreadsheet
saved to Teams which I update simultaneously as it allows me to allocate the
parts to the relevant set and spares to a tub to be placed with other parts the
same.

I think it can have merits depending on the order size and if it is what you
have used to pick the items and you are not printing just to include it, as we
all need to be aware of the impact on the environment of what we are doing.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I've been having this issue for months and it was raised previously on the

Placed 6 orders in order to get 1 feedback to open my own store

1. Order placed, cancelled due to too high shipping cost. Left positive feedback
regardless.
2. Order received in a very damaged LEGO box, packaging was taped to the Lego
box. Left positive feedback regardless.
3. Order placed, shipped two weeks ago, not received.
4. Order placed, never shipped, ignored all my messages, NSS case and Paypal
claim. Left negative feedback.
5. Order placed, shipped a week ago. Hoping to receive it at some point.
6. Order placed, cancelled, owner on holidays, can't ship.

So one month and 6 orders later, not one order received and not one positive
feedback left for me.

One person, who I never dealt with, has blocked me, and ignored my message asking
why.

Is this normal? I take the blame for order 1 being cancelled, that was a learning
curve. The other 5 orders don't fill me with confidence using this marketplace.

Thoughts?

As others have said I would definitely say not normal I try to use instant checkout
stores more so I can see the shipping costs first or try and check them out
before as like you I don't want to place an order and have to cancel.

I checked my stats just now and since being a member and most of them within
the last calendar year I've placed 184 orders a handful have had issues either
incorrect/missing parts, some have been picked up by the sellers first all have
been resolved quickly and positively by mutual discussion. of those I currently
have received feedback on 172 of those orders.

hopefully you will be able to get a feedback from one of those orders soon

I think it would be good to have a setting in the forum for sales notifications
to avoid seeing notifications of sales from stores that don't ship to you.

Especially as some of those sellers provide valuable non sales posts and therefore
don't want to block them and not see any of their posts

I have bought multiple times from overseas, in the EU and outside of it, most

only time I had a slight issue was one from Canada which seemed to get stuck

Don't disagree with what you say. But if Bricklink list it as a variant then
it should belong within a policy statement. So if 15573 is classed as a 3794
variant then that is a Bricklink issue not a store issue. (By the way we agree
with you on that one).

Thsi is why a definition of what a variant is or is not is needed before you
can have a policy on variants. Does being in a list of "similar to" something
mean it is a variant? After all, some parts, such as this ...

Part No: 60596 Name: Door, Frame 1 x 4 x 6 with 2 Holes on Top and Bottom
*
60596 Door, Frame 1 x 4 x 6 with 2 Holes on Top and Bottom
Parts: Door, Frame

have known variants, as indicated by the note "Part has a variant in which the
two end studs on top are partially hollow."

Or

Part No: 92582 Name: Hinge Plate 2 x 2 Locking with 1 Finger on Top
*
92582 Hinge Plate 2 x 2 Locking with 1 Finger on Top
Parts: Hinge

has variants (and two numbers) "This part has variants with noticeable appearance
differences. Part 53968 has around half of the top indented."

Rather than having a variant policy that can vary from store to store, I think
it might be better to have a site wide policy such as listing 3794 as an undetermined
1x2 jumper, with a list of parts that you might get if you buy it. Catalogue
admins can decide whether that is 3794a and 3794b only or whether or not to also
include 15573. Then anyone listing as 3794a must check they are listing the right
part there. If they don't distinguish types, then they should put them into
the undetermined part type 3794.

One issue I could see with that is when people are searching using their wanted
lists, especially if they have added items through the set inventory as those
are now removing the undetermined types from them. This would then mean that
although stores may have ones that could be used they wouldn't necessarily
show up when searching. I have had this the opposite way round where I was searching
for an undetermined type as that what was in the set inventory at the time I
added it and I could never find it when searching using my wanted list.

This included some much more recent purchases that were on backorder that weren't

Ok, thank you! Btw, do you know when they are supposed to ship out? I'm thinking

I wasn't able to get it to take my money to get any, however I believe it
was January for all those ordered in the initial window and then those that were
ordered in the second window would be later. Although everything keeps changing

Looking at the catalogue it seems that the head is the only part that comes off

and small amount of toothpaste to clean the inside
