Set No: 41758 Name: Advent Calendar 2023, Friends
*
41758-1 (Inv) Advent Calendar 2023, Friends
24 Sets, 2023
Sets: Holiday & Event: Advent: Friends

Was sorting some of these sets and noticed there are 2 versions, the contents
are mirrored inside and the design of the calendar numbers is also mirrored,
got 18 of the top one and 22 of the bottom one.

Box item numbers are the same 6425718, but the code below the barcode is different.

124957-308 Top
124957-322 Bottom

Should a note on the catalog be put? And also I can upload photos of each box
to the original box entry.

For many times i have been searching for this part:
99021 Pneumatic hose connector with bush,
and did'nt find this in the technic department.

The "technic" category is a bit cloudy with 254 part listings.

I would like to suggest a few category changes:

Re-name and -categorize;
3713 Technic Bush
to; 3713 Technic Bush 1L;
4265c Technic Bush 1/2 Smooth
to; 4265c Technic Bush 0,5L, Smooth
4265c, 4265a, 4265b, 45799, x1299, x148, 424 into
New Category; "Technic, Bush"

Re-name and -categorize;
2852, 2853, 2854, 2850, 2850b, 2850a, 2851, 3652 into
New Category; "Technic, Engine"

Re-name and -categorize;
6539, 6539, 2473, 18947, 32187, 35186, 35186pb01, 32167, 2426c01, 32170 into
Sub-Category; "Technic, Engine, Gear"

Re-name and -categorize;
46453, 46453c01, 46453pb01L, 46453pb01R, 46453pb02, 46452, 46454, 30535, 43121,
43121c04, 43121c02 (Inv), 43121c01 (Inv), 43121c03 (Inv), x577, 4868a, 4868ac01
(Inv), 4868b, 4868bc01 (Inv), 4868bc02 (Inv), 4869, 3475, 3475b, 98302, 3475a,
30358, 4229, 53983pb02, 53983pb01, into
Sub-Category; "Technic, Engine, Cosmetic".

Re-name and -categorize;
49828, 46455, 46456 into
Sub-Category; "Technic, Engine, Exhaust"

Re-name and -categorize;
2908, 32072, 5405 into
"Aircraft"

Re-name and -categorize;
2950, 24120, 18943, 28216, 4700, 2951, 2814, 32030, 46891, 15265, 88289, 30275
into
New Category; "Bucket";
and New Category; "Bucket, Decorated";

Re-name and -categorize;
32310, 32310pb06, 32310pb07, 32310pb01, 32310pb05,32310pb03, 32310pb02, 32310pb04,
32310pb08, 32165, 32173 into
"Bionicle"

Also a new category: "Technic, Decorated" for all the stickered and color
printed parts which make the other category's a bit overcrowded. This would
be in line with all the other decorated categories like; "Brick, Decorated",
"Plate, Decorated" etc.

Remove Category "Technic, Plate"
and merge whole category into "Plate, Modified" with 13 parts.

Remove Category "Technic, Link".
Re-name and -categorize;
30397, 2739, 2739b, 2739a, 32293 to "Technic, Ball Joint",
3711, 3249, 69900, bb0076, 3873, 69910, 57518 to "Technc, Gear",
14149, 24375 to "Technic, Pin",
64451, 4586, 6247, 2637 to "Liftarm".

Category "Plate, Modified" could move out the angular extension parts
to "Wedge, Plate, Decorated" or to "Plate, Modified, Decorated".

I have 2 types of pans here and both have the same identification number, it
was good to at least write it down in the notes that there are 2 types, or divide
it into a) and b)

While working on a project today I pulled my supply of 92693c01s and noticed
that some looked different. Further investigation revealed a different part number
on the side (37773), numbers on the dark gray part (2 variations-(31x9) & (46x9),
and differences in the construction of the main housing. All three parts have
the Lego logo, connect and function the same. Is this known variant are new piece
for the catalog? In the photo 92693c01 is at the top the lower two are 37773.

Please add a note to part ID 45535 that some were sent out from the factory in
an alternate format: Without the outer circle, but including the three masks
and the center sprue, all loose packed in a clear bag.

In one sense, the image on the item makes a presumption that all new parts will
include the outer circle with the masks attached to it. That is not the case.

How to better deal with the sets that come with LEGO magazines?

situation
Currently there are LEGO magazines with added sets (they are glued to the magazine)
in 6 countries, each in the language from the country where they are published.
- Germany
- Czech Republic
- Poland
- Netherlands
- France
- Sweden
It is painfully obvious that there are no English speaking countries in this
list.

The frequency in which they appear varies a bit. I have no exact data but 6-8
magazines per year seems to be sort of average.

themes
The magazines come in 8 themes (not each country get the same themes covered):
- Avengers
- Batman
- City
- Friends (this is the oldest one)
- Jurassic World
- Minecraft
- Ninjago
- Spiderman

current Bricklink coverage
The extent to which all these items are included in the catalogue depends on
the cooperation of volunteers in different countries. As far as I have been able
to determine, the sets are always added to the catalogue, but the magazines in
which they appear are not always added - they need a separate entry in the catalogue.

how to find these magazine sets on Bricklink?
Until recently you could find them by searching for the theme and add 'foil
pack' to your search criteria.
For example here is the list of Minecraft Foil Packs: minecraft+foil+pack
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=foil+pack+minecraft&tab=S#T=S

However, somewhere in 2023 TLG began to replace the foil packs by paper bags
glued to the magazine. Accordingly, Bricklink catalogue admins understandably
changed the description from foil pack to paper bag.
The result is that you now also have to search for the paper bags minecraft+paper+bag:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=paper+bag+minecraft&tab=S#T=S

Currently there are about 500-600 sets that are part of a magazine. And there's
no easy way to find them all in a single search or a limited search by theme.

therefore my suggestion about how to deal with this
I looked at the way how Brickset deals with the same problem and they have a
very clever and simple solution for it. They just call all the foil packs and
paper bags 'magazine gifts'.
If you want to search for these items you can do so: https://brickset.com/sets/subtheme-Magazine-Gift

My suggestion is to follow this example and change the description of all those
sets. For example

Set No: 662308 Name: Alex, Baby Llama and Bee paper bag
*
662308-1 (Inv) Alex, Baby Llama and Bee paper bag
32 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2023
Sets: Minecraft
would become: Alex, Baby Llama and Bee - Magazine Gift

Even more nice would it be to make additional changes to the sets catalogue tree:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogTree.asp?itemType=S
and add a new subtheme called 'Magazine Gift' for each of the 8 themes
TLG has magazines with sets. Star Wars already has 45 subthemes so one more wouldn't
hurt

This way we have several options to search for the magazine sets: by keyword
(Magazine Gift) or by browsing/searching for the theme and selecting the subtheme.

Martin

(And of course I offer to help with this. I have lots of free time.)

I have two different variants of this part, but it does not appear to be mentioned
in the catalogue, like I have seen for other similar parts.

I hope I am not overstepping by reporting this.

Also I would be interested to learn if there is any way to find out how the different
variants were used.

51289pb01 appears to be covering two different prints:

Part No: 51289pb01 Name: Duplo Utensil Telephone, Mobile with Keypad and Display Pattern
*
51289pb01 Duplo Utensil Telephone, Mobile with Keypad and Display Pattern
Parts: DUPLO, Figure Wear & Utensil {Orange}
has blue buttons and a light yellow screen.

Part No: 51289pb01 Name: Duplo Utensil Telephone, Mobile with Keypad and Display Pattern
*
51289pb01 Duplo Utensil Telephone, Mobile with Keypad and Display Pattern
Parts: DUPLO, Figure Wear & Utensil {Blue}
looks to have light lime buttons & screen (probably requires
in-person confirmation).

Thus, should these be split?

Pearl Light Gray PCC 4283900 uses the same ID as the blue one, 51820.

While going through the listings of Tile, Modified 2x3 with clips, I noticed
that there was a discrepancy in naming. The part is 30350b, 2 Open O clips.
The first 123 patterns of this part (except for 1 that I found) do not have
the descriptive 'Open O' in the title:

Part No: 30350bpb111 Name: Tile, Modified 2 x 3 with 2 Clips with White Bowser Head Pattern
*
30350bpb111 Tile, Modified 2 x 3 with 2 Clips with White Bowser Head Pattern
Parts: Tile, Modified, Decorated {Black}

Starting with pb124, the 'Open O' appears in the titles:

Part No: 30350bpb125 Name: Tile, Modified 2 x 3 with 2 Open O Clips with Armor Pattern (Sticker) - Set 80006
*
30350bpb125 Tile, Modified 2 x 3 with 2 Open O Clips with Armor Pattern (Sticker) - Set 80006
Parts: Tile, Modified, Decorated {Magenta}

Is there an easy way of rectifying this? If not, I am more than willing to go
through and submit requests for each entry to add the 'Open O' to the
titles that are missing it.

Hey there.

This part had us stumped. Without any context this part is hard to identify.
Especially in a non-silver color.
Obvious ideas were Technic or Technic Connector.
Could this maybe moved or at least be added to the the obscure parts locator

3838 Minifigure Air Tanks

Minifigure Air Tanks 3838 should have two mold variants. At some point
(I don't have an exact year), the mold was updated very slighty to widen
and re-shape the two openings at the bottom. With the newer variant, it's
possible to insert a standard bar partway in, whereas this couldn't easily
be done before and is something that has been noted on other sites. The top part
is a tad more defined as well. This is significant when trying to locate era-accurate
parts for older sets. As a buyer, I've come unstuck with this, and it's
essential to know what type I'm getting.

I have this special press release in hand. It`s mentioned in the catalog.
But what about adding it to the catalog with its own entry?
The set contains next to 3200 a picture frame and a press kit with lots of information
and real photos.

11090 and 44873 are listed under the same item number 11090. The parts look identical
other than the injection molding dimple on the side of 44873. Also, the bar hole
on 44873 goes a bit deeper than 11090 and I suggest this either be added to the
description or they be listed as mold variants as that hole depth might make
a difference, which is how I came to realize this and was able to sort both types
easily by looking at the injection mold dimple.

There are some LEGO catalogs that look similar enough to each other that I think
it would benefit sellers if the respective Bricklink listings made this fact
more explicit. Specially these three catalogs:

Catalog No: c81uspg Name: 1981 Medium Parents Guide US (109717/109817-US)
*
c81uspg 1981 Medium Parents Guide US (109717/109817-US)
Catalogs: 1981

Catalog No: c82uspg Name: 1982 Medium Parents Guide US (114717/114817-US)
*
c82uspg 1982 Medium Parents Guide US (114717/114817-US)
Catalogs: 1982

Catalog No: c83uspg Name: 1983 Medium Parents Guide US (100317/100417-US)
*
c83uspg 1983 Medium Parents Guide US (100317/100417-US)
Catalogs: 1983
And these two:

Catalog No: c73us Name: 1973 Medium US (97800-US)
*
c73us 1973 Medium US (97800-US)
Catalogs: 1973

Part No: 54821 Name: Ball, Bionicle Zamor Sphere
*
54821 Ball, Bionicle Zamor Sphere
Parts: Ball {Pearl Light Gray}

PCCs:
4297031 should be removed from Trans-Dark Blue. It is idential to 4296577 and
6024162, and like those, is are already listed as Trans-Medium Blue.
4585759 should be moved to Trans-Medium Blue. It is identical to the aforementioned
3.

4296080 should be removed from Trans-Bright Green, but stay as Trans-Neon Green
or be moved entirely to part 54821pb05.

4583979 I believe should be moved to Trans-Light Green.
Though they are not actual Trans-Light Green since these parts are marbled, the
general appearance of these is what's seen in the image currently assigned
to Light Green, and sales data also shows sellers listing it as Trans-Light Green
or Light Green. Neon Green seller listings are typically 4296080.

4297034 should be added to whatever 4583979 is. They are identical.

Images:
Images for "Bright Green" and "Trans-Green" depict the part in
Trans-Bright Green (PCC 4655587).

Image for "Trans-Neon Green" and "Trans-Bright Green" depict
part 4296080 - the former is the marbling described by 54821pb05. The latter
should probably be moved to TNG, while the former is moved to 54821pb05.

Trans-Dark Blue image is not necessary. It's a LEGO render in solid blue.

I only ask this as the original Ghostbusters minifigs had their ID’s switched
from idea to gb (seems a sensible approach) but then why not the same for various
other minifigs where dedicated Theme I.D’s already exist such as TV Friends,
Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings and even basic themes like castle and pirates.
Drives me crazy not having them located under the same I.D format

Would it be possible to add a category for the “figures” in the chess sets that
don’t fall into existing categories ?

Perhaps added as sub assemblies ?

Both the Knight and Bishop ( with or without shield ) “figures” can’t be listed
assembled.

Thanks in advance.

I know I’ve raised something about these before but I can’t remember or find
what was discussed.

Not sure admins want any more variations for the catalogue.

How would you list these :

1. Version of door 33.
As 33bc01 but has no holes in the top, has glass and hollow studs.

2. Version of 646.
As 646 but has glass, holes in top, hollow studs and standard lip not extended.

3. Version of 604.
As 604c01 but has no holes in top.

Despite only appearing in one set in 2004, at least 23 other parts exist in this
color. Since 2019, 18 of these have been seen, many of which are sourced from
LEGOLAND model shops. In 2023 alone, thousands of plates have been listed as
‘Light Orange’ and ‘Very Light Orange’, despite not being either of those colors.

This color also comes in 3021, 2357, 44237, and 3794a.

The lack of a Warm Yellowish Orange makes it very difficult to know what color
you’re getting from sellers, especially since many of these parts also come in
Scala Light Orange and Very Light Orange, the latter of which is also showing
up at various LEGOLAND PAB walls alongside Warm Yellowish Orange.

6490 Duplo, Plate 8 x 16
Parts: DUPLO, Plate {Light Orange}
is the only production part in this color.

Every part in the aforementioned list has its own element number that can be
added to the site. This color should be added as Warm Yellowish Orange.

Please change the category "Dragon Knights" to "Dragon Masters".
While both names have been used, "Dragon Masters" is the more common
and well-known; additionally, "Dragon Knights" is the name of the Kingdoms
faction, so I would like to avoid confusion.

Also, please merge the categories "Lion Knights" and "Crusaders";
they are the same faction. "Crusaders" was the first official name (with
Lion Knights being the colloquial name for the earlier sets of the same faction),
though "Lion Knights" has now been canonised via the Lion Knights'
Castle.

Hi all,

The 2015 Technic Turntable with 60 teeth (Part #18938) has been replaced by its
redesign, Part #88738.

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=18938#T=P

Currently, #88738 is listed as an Alternate Item No for #18938. However, I own
both versions and they are not quite the same. I've attached several images
to this message to show the difference.

Part #18938 has bevel teeth, whereas the redesigned turntable #88738 has straight
teeth. Another way to tell these two apart are the amount of snap-fit joints:
the newer turntable has six of them, whereas the older one only has four.

The main reason why I request to split #88738 from #18938 is because #88738 is
functionally different from its predecessor.

#18938 has bevel teeth, meaning that other bevel gears can be used perpendicular
to it. However, because of the wider teeth, this turntable is incompatible with
Technic chain links (#3711, #3249 and #3873), which only fit spur gears.

#88738 has the same teeth width as other Technic spur gears, which matches the
older 56 teeth turntables (#2855 and #48168). This means that the newer turntable
is compatible with Technic chain links, but has lost the bevel teeth in the process.

As for the exact year when #88738 was introduced, it is probably 2022?
- I've checked my 2020 copy of #51515 (Robot Inventor), and it contains #18938.
- Looking at reviews of 2021's #75313 (UCS AT-AT), it also contains #18938.
- Reviews of 2022's #76210 (Hulkbuster) shows #88738.
- Reviews of 2023 sets, such as #42158 (NASA Mars Rover Perseverance) and #75362
(Ahsoka Tano's T-6 Jedi Shuttle), shows that these sets also include #88738.

How I got my hands on #88738 was through buying these from LEGO's online
Pick a Brick last week, in research of this topic. They no longer have #18938
for sale, which implies it is out of production.

As a normal Bricklink user, I cannot request to add part #88738 to the catalog,
because it is listed as the Alternate Item No for #18938. If possible, I would
prefer #88738 to have its own entry in the catalog because it is functionally
different enough to justify it. I'll leave it to our admins to decide.

Thank you in advance and for reading this.

Item 55824c01 has three other part numbers on it that may be useful for finding
it. Battery cover is 56451, sword is 56452, and electronic component (light +
battery holder) is 55823. None of these part numbers currently have a result,
and I'm too new to BrickLink to know how to suggest these changes.

Hi all,

Wondering why

Part No: 3535  Name: Panel 3 x 3 x 2 Corner Convex
*
3535 Panel 3 x 3 x 2 Corner Convex
Parts: Panel
is not a cylinder, like

Part No: 30562  Name: Cylinder Quarter 4 x 4 x 6
*
30562 Cylinder Quarter 4 x 4 x 6
Parts: Cylinder

It’s not simply “convex,” it’s a quarter round.  It matches

Part No: 79393 Name: Tile, Round Corner 3 x 3 Macaroni
*
79393 Tile, Round Corner 3 x 3 Macaroni

Why is this part under the Bar category:

Part No: 61680 Name: Projectile Arrow, Bar 6L with Round End
*
61680 Projectile Arrow, Bar 6L with Round End
Parts: Projectile Launcher
but this very similar one is (rightfully so) under Projectile Launcher?

Part No: 15303 Name: Projectile Arrow, Bar 8L with Round End (Spring Shooter Dart)
*
15303 Projectile Arrow, Bar 8L with Round End (Spring Shooter Dart)
Parts: Projectile Launcher

Meanwhile both of their respective bricks are under Projectile Launcher:

Part No: 61185c01 Name: Projectile Launcher, 2 x 4 with 5 Studs, Axle Hole and Pin Lever
*
61185c01 Projectile Launcher, 2 x 4 with 5 Studs, Axle Hole and Pin Lever
Parts: Projectile Launcher

Part No: 15301c01 Name: Projectile Launcher, 1 x 4 Spring Shooter with Light Bluish Gray Top
*
15301c01 Projectile Launcher, 1 x 4 Spring Shooter with Light Bluish Gray Top
Parts: Projectile Launcher

Also, how come there aren't relationships that match projectiles with their
compatible launchers, and vice versa? I feel like that would be useful.

Hello,
I recently came across an item in a bulk buy that matches both of the following
descriptions:
Cloth Picnic Tablecloth / Blanket with Red Checkered Pattern, 16280
Duplo, Cloth Blanket 6 x 6 with Red Checkered Pattern, blankie05pb01

In trying to narrow down which version I have, I contacted a few sellers (thank
you to everyone who responded to me!), and, long story short, these two items
appear to be identical. The 12.5 stud x 12.5 stud dimensions of the 16280 are
based on regular Lego studs, while the 6 stud x 6 stud dimensions of blankie05pb01
are based on Duplo studs.

Further investigation into the measurements indicate that they are the same,
and the patterns appears to match as well.

I believe these two entries are the same item, and I would like your input if
this is correct.

Thank you,
Dennis

I can't believe the BL catalog is how I find out scientists have discovered
some land-dwelling species of otter

Seriously though, shouldn't they be under Animal, Water? Their habitat classifications
range from semiaquatic to marine.

Can https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=bb0517#T=C be unmarked
for deletion? I just discovered I own 4 of them, and I'd really like to
sell them.

"Instructions did not come in the set package but only as separate sheet
in a magazine"

I believe I was the one who added the instructions to the catalog for the set.
Most foil pack sets don't have instructions in the catalog since they are
an integrated part of the magazine and not a separate sheet. As I recall, this
may have been because the set was a 'bonus' second set (a second time
around) in a later magazine, so the instructions were inserted as a loose sheet
in the magazine. In retrospect maybe it was a bad idea to add the instructions
to the catalog.

Alternatively to adding the note, maybe the instructions for the set should just
be removed to keep it consistent with the other 99% of the foil packs.

Here are my thoughts on

Part No: 7049a Name: Brick, Modified 2 x 4 with Wheels Holder, Opaque Bottom

*
7049a Brick, Modified 2 x 4 with Wheels Holder, Opaque Bottom
Parts: Brick, Modified {Black}
.

It's very hard to see the actual color of the bottom of the black part in
the current picture, but it doesn't look opaque to me. More like semi-transparent,
possibly Milky White. Not a single one of the 104 sellers have uploaded a photo
of the part to actually show that it's opaque.

All the ones with opaque bottom that I have seen have red bottoms, and they are
all early CA bricks with old logo. All transparent bottoms that I have seen are
ABS bricks with new logo.

So I do not believe there exists a black version with opaque bottom. Just more
or less transparent ones. See examples from my collection in attached image.

I therefore suggest that either

1) the black photo is removed and the part is renamed to "Brick, Modified
2 x 4 with Wheels Holder, Red Bottom"
2) a new part created with the name "Brick, Modified 2 x 4 with Wheels Holder,
Red Bottom" and the current part marked for deletion.

Please advise.

/Jan

I have been searching through the catalog for a minifigure to go with a book.

The book is listed with a picture of the minifig but the minifig is not linked
to the book or in the book listing it says it doesn't consist of anything,
whereas it should consist of 7 books and 1 minifig

The book is 9781465466709 and the minifig that goes with it is SW0503

Minifig No: sw0503 Name: Special Forces Commander
*
sw0503 (Inv) Special Forces Commander
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Yoda Chronicles
[B=9781465466709]

That would make it appearing in 5 books and not 4 as listed.

Many thanks.

Wanted to see if any catalog admins could make changes to the these motorcycle
tires as they are not listed correctly between the 3 sizes...

88516 - narrow - 94.2mm D. x 22mm motorcycle racing tread
67140 - medium - 94.3mm D. x __mm motorcycle racing tread narrow(which would
not be narrow as listed and has no width measurement)
46335 - wide - 94.3 Dmm. x 38mm motorcycle racing tread

Wheel and tire assembly 88517c03(88517/67140) in the catalog looks exactly like
88517c019(88517/88516) so we will need to get a new pic for 88517c03...which
I have added to my part in my store.

Hello,

I just noticed that the inside of the new version (which would be 44873) of the
"bar holder with clip", the one with the ugly mould mark, is slightly
deeper.

It's not even a bad change (although more friction would have been a better
solution), but it's a serious problem of metrics for things that rely on
fully inserting bars, and can make connecting stuff a problem in MOCs.

Not sure if it's worth adding a separate entry for this, even though it's
totally not just "a new mould", but it would be worth adding a note to
it.

It also means that the inside metrics aren't compatible with 23443 anymore,
unless they also updated that part and I've missed that.

(side note, I'm a little annoyed by this change, as this is the kind of inconsistency/lack
of backwards compatibility that you expect from offbrand parts (and indeed those
can even be much deeper inside), not official Lego)

Casually buying instructions and I noticed that there was 2 non listed( as far
as I a can tell )0variants of set 7261s instructions. See picture provided. I
am wondering if the non light up also has two variants. Should this additional
variant be cataloged or just noted? Could also be regional discrepancies, the
larger brighter, more colorful one is from a European copy of the set, and the
smaller one from an eBay seller.

Shorter Light up version-27.63 CM long, 19.68 CM wide.(US Version)- stapled seam
Longer light up version- 29.84 cm long, 20.65 cm wide. (EU version)- pressed
or glued? seam.
-
for point of reference I have one copy of non light up, US version
27.63 cm long, 19.68 wide- stapled seam

If this is already a thing that's known sorry, if not I'm eager to learn
more about it, and if you are in Europe and have non light up, please measure
them!

Hey all,
just found something odd in the catalogue about these:

Part No: 801 Name: Door 1 x 3 x 3 Left with Window and Vertical Handle (Undetermined Type)
*
801 Door 1 x 3 x 3 Left with Window and Vertical Handle (Undetermined Type)
Parts: Door, Decorated
Marked for Deletion

Part No: 802 Name: Door 1 x 3 x 3 Right with Window and Vertical Handle (Undetermined Type)
*
802 Door 1 x 3 x 3 Right with Window and Vertical Handle (Undetermined Type)
Parts: Door, Decorated
Marked for Deletion

Part No: 825  Name: Door 1 x 3 x 4 Left with Window
*
825 Door 1 x 3 x 4 Left with Window
Parts: Door

Part No: 826  Name: Door 1 x 3 x 4 Right with Window
*
826 Door 1 x 3 x 4 Right with Window
Parts: Door
Is there a good reason why the 1x3x3 doors are in the "Door, Decorated"
category, but the 1x3x4s are plain doors?
Cheers,
Patrick

Please combine Categories "Lion Knights" and "Crusaders" into
a single category; the terms are used interchangeably (and IIRC, only the Crusaders
name was used officially until last year's Lion Knights' Castle), and
there is no difference between the two 'factions' (as they are the same
faction).

Until we have a working tag system it would be helpful if minifigure descriptions
also included the species so that they can be located and identified in one place
using this search criteria alone

For instance many people will know this is a Wookiee, yet how many people will
know the name let alone how to spell it correctly?

Minifig No: sw0626  Name: Wullffwarro
*
sw0626 (Inv) Wullffwarro
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Rebels

I therefore think we should always try to include the species in brackets

Wullffwarro (Wookiee)

Minifig No: sw0530 Name: Chief Tarfful

sw0530 (Inv) Chief Tarfful
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 3

Wald (Rodian)

Minifig No: sw0241 Name: Onaconda Farr
*

Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Onaconda Farr (Rodian)

Minifig No: sw0639 Name: Captain Tarpals
*

Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 1
Captain Tarpals (Gungan)

Minifig No: lor079  Name: Thranduil

Minifig No: lor107 Name: Dain Ironfoot
*
lor107 (Inv) Dain Ironfoot
Minifigures: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
Dain Ironfoot (Dwarf)

Minifig No: lor025  Name: Lurtz
*
lor025 (Inv) Lurtz
Minifigures: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings: The Lord of the Rings
Lurtz (Uruk-Hai)

Minifig No: lor038  Name: Yazneg
*
lor038 (Inv) Yazneg
Minifigures: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings: The Hobbit

Besides we already appear to have done this for certain species like Ewoks:-

The legs on the left are part 4293489. This part was used until 2009 and has
BL Light Purple/LEGO 198 Bright Reddish Lilac print. This color was retired at
the end of 2008. These legs come from set 3834.

The legs on the right are part 4644875. This part was used from 2011 to 2012
and has BL Magenta/LEGO 124 Bright Reddish Violet print. This color is still
current. I believe these legs were introduced in 2011 as 198 was no longer available
to set designers. After all, these two colors aren’t that far apart.

Should this entry be split? Will a note about print colors suffice?

Hi,

As per the subject title, should SW0158 (chrome c-3p0) receive a catalogue variant?
There is clear difference's in the print gradient between the North American
version and the version released in Europe/ROW. In addition the chrome plating
on the European/ROW has a warmer gold chrome compared to the NA version.

Thanks

...Ghostbusters ECTO-1

The reason is that we have DeLorean put into this category:

Set No: 10300 Name: Back to the Future Time Machine
*
10300-1 (Inv) Back to the Future Time Machine
1864 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 2022
Sets: Creator: Creator Expert: Back to the Future

As we can see, the ECTO-1 has similar box design and in addition it looks like
a Creator Expert car:

Set No: 10274 Name: Ghostbusters ECTO-1
*
10274-1 (Inv) Ghostbusters ECTO-1
2352 Parts, 2020
Sets: Ghostbusters

the category should be: Creator: Creator Expert: Ghostbusters

Thanks

Apparently, minifigure sh010 was released in two versions:
- with black lines on the torso, as shown in the catalog image of the minifigure;
and
- with green lines on the torso, as shown in the catalog image of the torso.

Minifig No: sh010 Name: Poison Ivy, Hair Over Shoulder
*
sh010 (Inv) Poison Ivy, Hair Over Shoulder
Minifigures: Super Heroes: Batman II

Part No: 973pb1107c01 Name: Torso Batman Poison Ivy Plant Foliage Pattern / Light Nougat Arms / Light Nougat Hands
*
973pb1107c01 (Inv) Torso Batman Poison Ivy Plant Foliage Pattern / Light Nougat Arms / Light Nougat Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor. {Lime}

Looking at the catalog images, it looks like this might be a difference between
production for the 2012 (green version?) and 2015 (black version?) sets, but
I cannot confirm that. Looking at the instructions, all use the same ElementID
so that would make it a variation and not a different part design.

If both versions of this figure are common (and I think that they are), I think
that the variations are so different that both should have their own catalog
entry. Is there a reason not to do this?

I do not have the required parts to do submit them to the catalog.

Hello,

I am posting a question that arose from this conversation:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1410840

rbritton31 has pointed out that one tire is currently called 'Narrow'
yet is no longer the narrowest of 3 similar tires in our catalog.

Part No: 88516  Name: Tire 94.2mm D. x 22mm Motorcycle Racing Tread
*
88516 Tire 94.2mm D. x 22mm Motorcycle Racing Tread
Parts: Wheel, Tire & Tread
LEGO calls this MOTORCYCLE TYRE Ø 94.2.
Our dimensions are: 10.6 x 10.6 x 2.06 cm

Part No: 67140 Name: Tire 94.3mm D. Motorcycle Racing Tread Narrow
*
67140 Tire 94.3mm D. Motorcycle Racing Tread Narrow
Parts: Wheel, Tire & Tread
LEGO calls this TYRE NARROW, DIA. 94.3, NO. 1
Our dimensions are: 9.43 x 9.43 x 2.7 cm

Part No: 46335  Name: Tire 94.3mm D. x 38mm Motorcycle Racing Tread
*
46335 Tire 94.3mm D. x 38mm Motorcycle Racing Tread
Parts: Wheel, Tire & Tread
LEGO calls this: TYRE, WIDE, DIA. 94.3X38, NO. 1
Our dimensions are: missing

We would appreciate some guidance on updating the names for consistancy and to
avoid confusion.

Thanks!
Jen

Hello there.
I have found another variation of Space Iron Man sh229. I know the original is
already on Bricklink, but I have found another variation that is my own collection.
You can see the difference in the pictures I have attached.
Basically the difference between the two Iron Man minifigures is the very similar
torsos because one has missing lines compared to the other. Now you may think
it's a misprint but from my research I have found that several people have
the missing lines minifigure instead of the one with lines. So technically it's
a different minifigure I would say. I think when it's set was released the
first few several sets contained the Iron Man with missing lines on the torso,
then eventually they fixed it. Anyway so I was wondering if it's possible
you could add it? If you think it's a good idea? I do actually own this variation
figure.
Many thanks.

or should that be kept as 1 listing and instead a version without a head is added
so an inventory for it could be added. i have the part on hand and can take photos

Hi - Samonsite produced a bunch of Basic Sets in the early 1970s that were sold
via catalog through retailers like Sears and JCPenney. These sets were simply
in brown cardboard boxes vs more traditional marketing packaging. I don't
see these in the Bricklink catalog. Can they be added? I'm specifically
interested in seeing the "LEGO Samsonite 846 Piece Basic Set" added as
I have one in an open box but sealed original plastic bags I'd like to list.

Here is a link to Brick Economy with the specific set I'm interested in but
you'll see a bunch of similar Samsonite era sets that I don't see on
Bricklink...
https://www.brickeconomy.com/set/SID00125040-1/lego-samsonite-846-piece-basic-set

Apologies if this is in the Bricklink catalog already and I've just missed
it. In that case, if someone could point me in the right direction that would
be helpful!

Thanks!

There is a Welsh version of a book with minifigure, see English version below.

Presumably it would be listed with the bracketed part reading [Welsh - UK Edition]

How would the part number be configured ?

Dear BL Team
Last time I was talking in topic "6057 different lenght" about 2 different
versions of part 6057 and also uploaded photo of comparision of them.
Now I would like you to add another picture that shows length of both parts with
scale so seller could measure his versions.
Please consder uploading this picture.

I’m looking at my tower roof parts I noticed a difference I couldn’t find a reference
to.

Part No: 33215  Name: Tower Roof 6 x 8 x 9
*
33215 Tower Roof 6 x 8 x 9
Parts: Roof {Glitter Trans-Dark Pink}
The sand green one second from left is marked with both 33215 and 42000 and as
you can see the 2x2 round attachments are 1 plate higher than the others.
The others are all marked LEGO 2011 10487.
Just didn’t know if this should be noted somewhere or if they should be different
parts which might be a nightmare for inventories.

Can I suggest some description improvements for hoods. Right now we have them
differentiated with non-descriptive wording like basic and smooth

Firstly it might be beneficial to name these types of hood a Cloaked Hood as
they are primarily used in conjunction with capes and/or have a medieval robe
type look about them:-

Part No: 30381 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Hood
*
30381 Minifigure, Headgear Hood
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

Part No: 59276 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Hood Basic
*
59276 Minifigure, Headgear Hood Basic
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

To differentiate further I would add the wording 'Open Neck' and 'Closed
Neck' respectively though there is this one already in the catalog using
the term 'Open Front':-

Part No: 37340 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Hood, Open Front, Tied in Back
*
37340 Minifigure, Headgear Hood, Open Front, Tied in Back
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear
This also works fine but then would a 'Closed Front' hood cause some
confusion compared to Closed Neck' but will leave catalog team to decide?

On the other hand these modern type hoods are better described from adding the
word Hoodie as they are primarily intended to represent a modern style hood attached
to a fleece/jacket:-

Part No: 74528 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Hood Basic Smooth
*
74528 Minifigure, Headgear Hood Basic Smooth
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

Part No: 30668pb02 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Hood Basic with Dark Brown Bangs Pattern
*
30668pb02 Minifigure, Headgear Hood Basic with Dark Brown Bangs Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

Part No: 30668pb01 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Hood Basic with Tan Bangs Pattern
*
30668pb01 Minifigure, Headgear Hood Basic with Tan Bangs Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

I just have a

Part No: 825p01 Name: Door 1 x 3 x 4 Left with Window and Red Cross Pattern, Lower
*
825p01 Door 1 x 3 x 4 Left with Window and Red Cross Pattern, Lower
Parts: Door, Decorated
in my hands. It's not white, it's trans-clear
with white and red print.

So please move the images of this and

Part No: 826p01 Name: Door 1 x 3 x 4 Right with Window and Red Cross Pattern, Lower
*
826p01 Door 1 x 3 x 4 Right with Window and Red Cross Pattern, Lower
Parts: Door, Decorated
to Trans-Clear and I'll
make inventory request to change the two sets they appear in.

If I'm not allowed this, at least add a note to the two parts.

Hello. Parts 11090 and 44873 are listed under the same entry in the catalog.
I would recommend splitting them out as separate parts as the internal spacing
is different. Part 44873 has a deeper interior spacing.

There is clearly enough of a difference between molds to cause issues within
sets and Mocs.

Please view 3rd pic on part 6005. Reference https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1400378

For instance, I was building

6005 Arch 1 x 3 x 2 Curved Top
Parts: Arch {White}
and was short
5. I ordered them on Bricklink and when I put them on the set, there was a clear
difference in the arc for 3 of them. I placed another order for 10 of them in
hopes that I would get 3 with the correct arc and thankfully I did BUT if this
part had been split, I would have been able to order the correct part the first
time and saved myself some time and money!

I've just received in the post a replacement "Wedge, Plate 3 x 4 with
Stud Notches" that I was missing from set 7959.

Unfortunately it’s the wrong type, and will fall off the build at step 7. It’s
not the seller’s fault, as 91094 appears as an alternate item number to 48183,
and 48183 is the one listed in the set inventory.

As the two parts aren't 100% interchangeable, please can the two be separated?

I would like propose the addition of a stickered assembly piece to the catalog.
This piece would then be added to the inventory of #10143 "Death Star II
- UCS" as a counterpart.

This piece consists of two 4 x 12 black plates and twelve 1 x 8 black tiles with
a sticker over top.

I found this assembly in a bulk lot and there is currently no way to list it
on Bricklink. A check of the instructions for this set show that the sticker
is correctly applied as the Lego Group intended and none of the pieces can be
removed without damaging the sticker.

Parts: Modulex, Tile, Decorated {Mx White}

is also listed as either "M" / "W", but in my opinion this is
only the "W"

These are not the same, the "M" has a full length middle leg, while the
"W" does not go full length.

One could make an argument for the other way around, but I think the first entry
is an "M" only, and the second a "W" only.

I have 17 of these, all 12 that I would call "M" have no internal lining,
and all the "W" do.

In addition, if someone likes /wants to upload items to the catalog, I will happily
send them ~20 Modulex bricks, currently not in the catalog, for free (US only,
other countries will get them free too, but you'll have to pay postage).
You get the keep the bricks of course. I can also send an "M" and a "W".

I bought some 73090bs and the bottom of the brick says 2378.
This is authentic lego because it says lego group on the bottom.

I am getting frustrated with the Catalog not being updated. I have a Death Star
UCS 10188 set. It had some minifigures missing which I am trying to replace.
In particular 2 Imperial Troopers with Black Helmets and Thick Black Circles
on the Silver Belt Buckle. I have purchased 3 Imperial Troopers so far and they
all have different Torso's. It's an Unlucky Dip as to what Torso they
have.

I have
1. Large Black Circle on the Silver Belt Buckle.
2. Thin Black Circle on a Heavy Painted Silver Metallic Belt Buckle.
3. No Black Circle at all.
Picture is attached.

Members are telling me that they are either Misprints or Play Wear. The Black
Circle isn't printed, it's the Background Colour of the Minifigure. The
Silver is printed. On the Thin Black Belt Buckle the Silver is Thickly painted
and a Metallic colour. So it's not a Misprint. Neither is it play wear because
it can't wear off.

I have tried to contact sellers before buying a Forth one, and they didn't
know. I have asked for a Photo of the Imperial Trooper, and only one has replied.
They had the Thin Black Circle version. In the means time most of the Imperial
Troopers for sale have been sold. There are only 2 left and only one seller replies
to emails.

I have spent over 6 months, and over $50 trying to replace these minifigures.
And I could spend another $30 in buying a forth one because they seem to be rare.

The three versions do exist and can be found around the net, and on Lego's
Boxes and Instruction manuals.

So why aren't they listed in the catalog to prevent Buyers getting frustrated
and Sellers having to refund items when it's not either of their faults.

Just as a side note, if you think that they don't exist then look at the
parts break down of the sw0208 Imperial Trooper. The Torso as the Thin Black
Circle.

Sorry for ranting.

Ian.

Hi,

I have seen Power Adapter 45539 and 45540. Perhaps we should update and add information
about these devices. These adapters were supplied in a set 9833.
45539 - European plug
45540 - English plug.

Now I have a 45540 adapter, so I can take additional photos and measurements.

Regards
Alexei

I have no idea how to submit this stuff, so if someone else wants to run with
it, that would be great.

This fig:

Minifig No: sp087s Name: Star Justice Astronaut 2 - with Torso Sticker (glasses, gold badge)
*
sp087s (Inv) Star Justice Astronaut 2 - with Torso Sticker (glasses, gold badge)
Minifigures: Space: Factory

does not get the gold badge, just a silver. Book 2, page 1

There are 2 of the minifig below in the set, one gets the gold, one stays silver,
so it is a tad complicated (Book 2 page 26 for gold, Book 1 page 7 for silver):

Minifig No: sp087s Name: Star Justice Astronaut 2 - with Torso Sticker (glasses, gold badge)
*
sp087s (Inv) Star Justice Astronaut 2 - with Torso Sticker (glasses, gold badge)
Minifigures: Space: Factory

I am not sure why the used the same head 2 times in a set with only 4 minifigs....

The correct listing makes more sense, anyway. The fighter pilot is likely to
outrank the truck driver.

There is a significantly old mould for part number 3010 (Brick 1x4), which has
a cross-beam support that goes all the way down the central tubes, preventing
hollow stud connections in this area.

This seems like something significant to note, especially considering alternate
numbering exists for other parts with older moulds such as 3003old and 3001old.

Other sites like rebrickable already make note of this difference. I've attached
the distinction they make as an image.

Date used
Inside the suitcase there is the part number, the mold- and cavity number and
(C) 2008 The LEGO Group.

This suggests that this suitcase has been in use many years ago, but was never
included in the BrickLink catalog. I would guess that it was used after 6427
and before 20302.

The different shape of the suitcase handle might make it possible to identify
the different versions in set images.

Info on Brickset
The part number 87075 is not known in the LEGO replacement part database as seen
on BrickSet.
Looking at part 6427, a few of the images do show a square at the position of
the LEGO logo.

This suggests that 4624835 (Orange) and 4508202 (Red) might be the ElementID's
for this version of the suitcase. I do not consider it enough proof though.

This square is not visible on the thumbnail images for design number 20302

There is a duplicate entry for item coltm-1 - Rowlf the Dog, The Muppets (Complete

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=rowlf#T=I

They both link to the same page:

In description there is information about 2 different length of 6057. I have
picture of both parts. Shorter is proper to use in 6271 because longer is to
high to connect to grey part of mast. I added additional leyer of 3020 black
on bottom so longer one can be used. I also asked LEGO support what to do with
this situation. I'll post answer.

I was parting out set

Set No: 8000 Name: Pit Droid
*
8000-1 (Inv) Pit Droid
223 Parts, 2000
Sets: Technic: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 1
And it is supposed to include 3 of
[P=23229,11]
But I received 3 of these band which don’t look like them at all but also don’t
look like any other ones in the catalog. They look similar to
[P=71509,11]
But those were also included in the set and they are very noticeably different
(no picture of them so they don’t confuse)
In the event that they are actually
[P=71509,11]
Then what are the ones in the second message?
I know I’m probably missing something obvious but didn’t see any notes about
the bands having very different appearances
And advise would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Please consider adding a note to part

Part No: 7039 Name: Wheel with 4 Studs and Metal Axle
*
7039 Wheel with 4 Studs and Metal Axle
Parts: Wheel

I have found the variant shown on the left. It seems like there are traces of
glue, so I believe there may be some versions of the tire/wheel assemblies with
this part were factory glued and that the left variant was used for this purpose.
The ridges may have been there to better hold on to the glue.

Any thoughts?

/Jan

I just noticed when comparing two of my Eomer minifigures (lor010) that they
had slightly different coloration on the legs (970c120pb01). One set of legs
has a red sash that matches the torso color and the other has more of a brown
sash. The brown sash is what's shown on Bricklink. Initially I thought
maybe I'd mixed up the legs but I found this article on Eurobricks explaining
the same thing...

https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/75775-uruk-hai-army-changes/

Looks like the brown sash is the original and the red sash a subsequent version.
Should the Bricklink catalog be updated to include both? Please let me know
if this is already pointed out somewhere on Bricklink and I just didn't see
it.

Thanks,
Michael

Add description to

Part No: 42027 Name: Duplo Dolphin / Orca / Killer Whale
*
42027 Duplo Dolphin / Orca / Killer Whale
Parts: DUPLO, Animal {Trans-Light Blue}

Some variants of the whale have different air bubbles on the left and right of
their face, some can have air bubbles on both sides. The bubbles are just in
front of the tube close to the front of the whale. They are almost like eyes.

From this thread here

This is my second catalog request so I don’t know if this is the correct way
to do it. (:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=2563&name=Plant,%20Tree%20Palm%20Base&category=%5BPlant,%20Tree%5D#T=C

and not all of 2536(x) can be connected to 2563.

it is not mentioned in part 2563?

Thanks

Part 18822 seems to be refered to as 86224 on the LEGO Pick A Brick Site. If
these are the same part can this be added as an alternative part number?

This Bricklink color finally contains another obscure 2004 color! The color box
in the color guide no longer resembles the poor-quality Red parts. Is it appropriate
to finally move them over to Red with catalog notes?
