I’m kinda surprised to see such a feedback left for you and your son, James.

Just realized how much time has elapsed since dealing with you guys. That your
son would have grown-up and may no longer be a part of the running of your store.
Time does seem to vanish before our eyes, when considering our kids

I know what a fantastic store you guys operate. One of the better ones, with
your top notch service and care. I hope the other member will reconsider. Until
then, and in addressing your question:

- Go to your Profile in Feedback Forum by clicking-on your feedback number

- At the bottom of the page you’ll see “If you are McBricks, you may Reply to
comments” the word “Reply” is the link you need. Exampled in screenshot below…

Thanks yes that is correct.

Still can’t find a way to add “request quote” nor “request invoice”

I’ve now been able to view my checkout flow using my wife’s account.

I have 4 shipping methods set up, and enabled, but only two show at checkout
(the most expensive only)

Why aren’t all 4 available?

Also I have enabled request quote but that isn’t showing either.

Help appreciated! Thanks

No. Note that users opt in to receive notifications.

Well its easy enough but no one has done it, also no employee interaction on
forum for a week or two now, BL email account full not taking more messages,
Are we adrift without a direction? Has anyone had recent direct contact? seems
to be a bit strange.

It would be nice to be able to “buy” from your own store as well, which is possible
on BO

An often-mentioned reason is that someone could use this possibility to manipulate
the price guide.
As if they couldn’t do that with a second account (connected from another IP).
They’d just need to remove “sales-to-self” from the PG.

Exactly.
But that was Dan's code and it's probably rocket science to them, considering
they didn't manage to prevent their own store from getting suspended due
to NSS procedures (is that right? I read it on the forum, but didn't confirm
it. Sounds hilarious anyway)

  Hello,
I have ordered 2 sets of a special AFOL edition from BrickLinkCorp. Unfortunately
only one has arrived, and I tried to contact BrickLink on all channels here,
then filed a non-shipping alert, but since received no response. Now I could
cancel, but unsure whether I'd receive a payback, and also much rather resolve
the issue and get the 2nd box, even so delayed.
Can anyone assist on how to chase BrickLinkCorp?
Thanks,
David

Did you buy them at the same time? If not, the second one might arrive later.
It appears BL sends each box separately

Hi,

yes, same time, same order ID

The shop is closed because "Reason: Three or more Completed NSS/NRS". Technically,
to get an NSS removed the shop owner needs to provide proof of shipping to BrickLink.
Assuming they keep records of their own shipment info, that is easy enough to
do for themselves. The help pages are not clear on whether BrickLink can be asked
to remove an NRS, so the shop might be closed because of too many NRS issues.

Niek.

Try to get familiar with paypal.me

Then you can simply include a link in your invoice that for the payment (also
including the amount that should be payed), something like:

https://www.paypal.me/yourname/29.82

... or for your invoice template: https://www.paypal.me/yourname/DISPGRANDTOTAL

(the DISPGRANDTOTAL needs to be in pointed brackets)

I was concerned about a second account from same IP address raising a concern
from “management” my son is over 18. So I’ll get him to sign on.

Have a friend sign up or parents or "do it for them" so you can check out your
own store that way and try things out. My father-in-law is a member so I ask
him to try certain things out for me or I do it when I visit him.

Significant others can also setup an account (or anyone in the household 18+)
and you can check with them, or temporarily borrow the account for testing.

I think you can send proof to Admin of the refund and they will remove the NSS.
Maybe this emailaddress can be found in the problem part of the order.

Looks like the buyer finally removed the NSS and submitted an order cancel request.
Things are right with the world again. Thanks everyone!

Always reply to the NSS in the applicable Problem field of the NSS.
Your buyer should close the NSS.

Someone from Bricklink is now going to talk to Fedex and investigate how they’re
filling in the customs forms but there’s still no admission of a mistake / any
responsibility which is what is bothering me the most.

In Help, Westminster writes:
I've got the same problem with 60th Anniversary set from Bricklink
See my post from yesterday 'Import VAT UK'
Today I've sent a second enquiry to FedEx & store@bricklink.com with a copies
of both the Bricklink receipt showing shipping paid as $35 and the Fedex calculated
shipping of £95.66 (for VAT of 20%).
I await a reply from both, but I'm not holding my breath.
Thanks for the reference to claim form C285 - I'll look into that.

In Help, karnka writes:
Had a long chat with Fedex about the VAT / duty on the AFOL sets and it is very
clear that Bricklink have failed to fill in the customs paperwork properly.

They left the cost of shipping blank (not 0, not a broken out proportion of the
total order cost, blank) which causes European countries to apply ‘average shipping
costs’ to the duty calculation. In the case of the Wild West set this is actually
more than the cost of the set itself. There is now no way to resolve this.

Having communicated with Bricklink they simply don’t care. They messed up but
are unwilling to even admit that.

I’m not considering cancelling my Castle order because presumably they’ll mess
it up again costing me a not insignificant amount of money (again).

Pretty disgraceful to be honest.

More seriously, it’s about the Season 3 of Ninjago, called “Rebooted”.
LEGO changes the minifigs for each season (and then some) and the name of the
season is used to describe which is which. It helps to have it in the name for
quick searching and seeing the differences.

this is good news but a shame I have to let the buyer down. Thanks again everyone.

Hi Gary,

I think your buyer might be right.
I do not see the word ‘Lego’ on the stud of the torso, also not on the legs that
also look different in color and slightly different appearance.
The hat doesn’t seems to show a Lego trademark but this is more difficult to
see.
So, in my opinion this is a fake.
That is quite a loss.

Since some years, you have to ask permission from the Bricklink administration
to get these options. I believe you need to have some kind of good feedback reputation
in order to get it. Not sure if that really solved any kind of problem, but at
least it's not completely removed for new sellers like they once planned
to do.

  Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue.
Before I sent each invoice I usually change some stuff from the template to reflect
savings and promotions in a discount summary section. However, as of today, I
can no longer edit the invoice for each individual order, when I click on the
icon it takes me to a page that just shows what's going to be sent, with
no way to edit it.

I'm not sure if this was a change bricklink rolled out last night or what,
but it seriously is annoying. Anyone else having the same happen?

Do you mean where you edit in the "Comments from Seller" area? I was able to
no problem today. Even for one that's been sent, if I click on the invoice
icon, I still get the editable window.

Nevermind, figured it out. I managed to screw up some of the macro tags.

Exactly, I no longer have that window for some reason. It's weird, will have
to contact the helpdesk about that.

It seems this is a Fedex problem. Don't let it put you off using US BL stores,
just be sure they post with USPS, then it comes into Royal Mail, who handle it
fairly using the formula of VAT+basic handling charge (about £8?).

Good luck trying to sort fedex out, hopefully the store will stop using fedex
and start using sensible services

I recently had an issue with FedEx massively over-declaring import duty for something
not lego related.
To solve it, i contacted HMRC and asked them what the correct commodity code
should be for the specific product, and what duty should be charged for that
code.
For me, FedEx were trying to charge close to 50% when the commodity for the product
was 0.5%...
It still took about 2 weeks of chasing them and many phone calls for them to
finally escalate the issue to the right department, but I eventually got them
to charge the correct amount.
Sometimes it feels like FedEx have become a complete scam company.

Contact HMRC for advice, open a case with FedEx and keep telling them what they
are doing wrong, eventually they should fix it. Good luck!

Hi,

I've both converted to the old PF without any problem. Just sell the new
part you don't use in order to fund the change.

If that order was cancelled through BL with the excuse it was bought by an underage
child, then it will probably remain banned.

Annoying, I always wonder why others are having weird customers like this and
I never do. Guess I'm luckly

I think there are two reasons:
1) you are professional, correct and good seller;
2) If you spend 24 hours in hospital, you realize many people die there but if
you spend 24 hours in a park, nobody die there (generally speaking)! Where do
we hear about scams or problem orders? Answer is "Forum". How many sellers are
there on BL? how many orders are submitted in a year? Well, many many many but
a good percentage of the problems/scams are reported hear however the percentage
"the total number of scams or problems with a bad buyer or seller"/ "the total
number of orders"
is very small. (at least I hope!)

Cheers

I am not sure but your feedback says something about your mom cancelling your

Brian

Brian,

I just looked at the 60197 train instructions (web friendly) and looked at the
battery box placement. The dimensions of the PU and PF battery box are identical.
The main difference being the port location (top for PF, side for PU). You would
need to include the placement of the PF Receiver as well, but it looks like there
may be room right in front of the battery box. The PF Receiver has a foot print
of 4x4 studs and there is 4 stud width gap between the sides of the train for
it, so seems easily doable. You would just need to leave a gap in the roof for
the Receiver to receive signal from the PF controller, but a minor issue that
can be done to conceal it with additional slope bricks. The train motor is identical
to PU and PF otherwise, as far as dimensions and connections.

Here is the instructions link to the 60197 train for quick web viewing.
http://lego.brickinstructions.com/en/lego_instructions/set/60197/Passenger_Train

I have not looked at the 60198 train, but here are the web friendly instructions
for it
http://lego.brickinstructions.com/en/lego_instructions/set/60198/Cargo_Train

Miro

Thanks Miro!

I didnt realize that the PU Hub did not require the IR reciever to run. I guess
it makes better sense now. But 49.99 is still a hefty price to pay for two parts
in one. I wouldn't have a problem if the PU Hub was rechargeable. Oh well..maybe
in time the price may come down. I'm stocking up on battery boxes, IR receivers
and motors now.

Brian

From what I hear, the Lego train community is not too keen on the PU system.
The PU uses bluetooth, which is nice when it comes to operating it outside, compared
to IR (infrared), but the price and incompatibility is a major deterrent. The
remote is very limited in operations, and the problem with the app is that you
can only operate 1 HUB at a time, so you would require multiple devices for multiple
trains. So Lego is charging more for a device that needs to be controlled by
a device (smartphone) that they do not provide.

I am not going to switch anytime soon. It's too bad that the connections
are not compatible. There sure would be a demand if someone came up with a connector
that would allow both PF and PU systems to work together.

Miro

Yeah, I'm not happy with the change either. I know its directed towards kids.
It will become challenging for the younglings to incorporate multiple trains.
We AFOL's will be the ones with disposable income who buy the product more
so. I'm very disappointed that they discontinued the PF rechargeable battery
box so quickly. The charger may work on the new PU system, but I'm stuck
with a 30.00 dollar charger that works for one function. I'm not complaining
lol, but I was hoping to get more rechargeable battery boxes. The secondary market
.ie BrickLink sells them, but at a steeper price now that demand will certainly
fly go up.

Brian

I prefer the regular battery PF battery box and I use my own rechargeable batteries.
Even rechargeable batteries wear out over time, so this keeps the PF battery
box everlasting and I just replace the rechargeable batteries when they don't
charge long enough, but I am yet to get rid of any batteries. I do use a battery
charger that meters each battery independently and shuts off charging when they
get full to keep them from overheating. I have run my motorized models non-stop
for 8 hours at a Lego convention with changing out the batteries only once in
the middle of the day. The model that I run is the Star Wars Cinema where the
whole display rotates by a single XL PF motor. It's a lot of weight to rotate,
as a lot of torque is required due to the weight. Here is the video of it.

  Good day all,

Does anyone know, or have tried using the old PF parts to motorize the following
sets:

Set No: 60197 Name: Passenger Train
*
60197-1 (Inv) Passenger Train
661 Parts, 4 Minifigs, 2018
Sets: Train: RC Train

Set No: 60198 Name: Cargo Train
*
60198-1 (Inv) Cargo Train
1202 Parts, 6 Minifigs, 2018
Sets: Train: RC Train

I want to buy these, but dont want to start using the New PF motors and battery
box just yet. Thanks in advance

Brian

The secondary market
.ie BrickLink sells them, but at a steeper price now that demand will certainly
fly go up.

I can confirm it is rubbery, not ABS.

You could count if the number you have left of those cheap ones matches your
inventory. If so, that pretty much proves that you didn't send two of those
to the customer. I'd write a friendly message, just saying that you've
checked and that your inventory quantities show that you did send the right part
and that the wrong part is still in your possession so it couldn't possibly
have reached the buyer. Finish by saying that probably they've made a mistake
and mixed up the parts with their own parts or perhaps another order, and that
if they have any further questions or concerns they should let you know.

If they do insist on a refund, you'll have to give it I guess. But after
this message it is clear to the buyer that if they do push down that lane, you
are fully aware that they are scamming you, which is pretty awkward, so they
might change their mind.

Thanks I have followed your advice.

Ha! Don't buy new if you can DIY!

You can also nick away the 1x2 plate's bottom tube, carefully place the 1x5
brick into position, then drive a nail into it!

  Hello,

I rebricked the eiffeltower and now i have a problem while building:

i have the problem that I donot know which brick i should use to build step 7
at page 5 of manual 3/3 (BUILD INSTR 3006, 10181 3/3 IN)

The brick 3023 Dark Bluish Gray Plate 1 x 2 has in the middle of the backside
a "bottom tube", but i have to put this Plate 1 x 2 with the middle at top of

Where are you trying to upload them? They may be too large.

Cheers,
Randy

Thanks Randy. I’m using the upload image link at the bottom of the message
page. They are just pics I took with my phone. Is there a way to make them
smaller?

Yeah, the raw images from your phone are much too big for uploading to the forum.
You would have to definitely resize them. I don't know if there is a way
to resize them right away on the phone since I always send photos from my phone
to my computer before adjusting them for BrickLink.

Cheers,
Randy

I’ll give that a try after work. Thanks Randy I’ll let you know how I make out.
Cheers!

I guess I dont totally understand the point in limiting messages, I cant even
reply to people now.

Thanks!

John

The message limit is only for new members. The limit resets every day at 2:00am
BrickLink time (which is Eastern Daylight Time, currently) and is only in place
for the first 30 days of your membership. After that, you will have no restrictions.

Cheers,
Randy

For new users there's a daily limit to prevent spamming.
Inquiries usually don't turn into orders.
Most orders are placed without any upfront messaging.
For now you can continue the conversation by regular email.

Sadly, there's nothing you can do about it at the moment, nor do I know when
it resets. At some point it goes away after you establish yourself as a BL member.

The reality is that a very small number of problem members necessitate creating
policies that impact the majority.
