  Hello.

I have a huge dilemma.

Yes, I know that I can do what I like when it comes to my own LEGO, and I really
NEED to find out the best way to get 2 specific parts coloured to the colour
I need.

I've built a Harry Potter "Knight Bus" in the same manner as the Creator
"London Bus" set, and this has been 99% successful, with the exception of this
part:-

Part No: 24599 Name: Brick, Round Corner 5 x 5 x 1 without Studs
*
24599 Brick, Round Corner 5 x 5 x 1 without Studs
Parts: Brick, Round

This element NEEDS to be in Dark Purple

As I'm based in the UK, I really need to find the nearest and best product
to use to get this covered in Dark Purple (paint, or even some kind of wrap/lacquer)

Other than trying to get someone to 3-D print one, I'm stuck.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Paul

Congratulation for your 9999 orders

  Hello everyone,

Today I am very pleased to announce we have a new Catalog Associate! As you may
see from the Hall of Fame, StormChaser has previously held two catalog-type admin
positions - Inventories Admin and the legacy Catalog Admin - and has recently
returned to the site.

We're delighted he has decided to come back, and I know many of you missed
him as well. He has many ambitious plans for the catalog, and now that we have
more staff on board, it's looking as though we can start making some serious
headway.

So please join me in welcoming him. You can see his familiar profile in line
with the others here:

https://www.bricklink.com/memberAdmins.asp

StormChaser is also the first member to officially join our new Community Expert
Program. We hope to see the other catalog admins joining in the next day or two,
and the rest of our admins within the week.

I didn't get it.
Why my name is not on that list at the position "Beer Opener" ???

It's surprising you're now defending Bricklink as a cash cow because
that would mean they have plenty of budgets to solve their problems, problems
that you often seemed to just accept as the way things are.

Bricklink it is a cash cow.
Bricklink it's a business who generate profit.
Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim bought Bricklink to make a profit.
Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim didn't want to spend his profit on Bricklink.
Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim take his profit and leave it to Lego to invest.
So, Bricklink it is a cash cow.

So Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim paid millions for a not profitable site than Lego paid even

  Matejo,

I’m not saying that I think any little fee should be part of the solution, but
if a fee were implemented maybe it should be considered an “order processing
fee” and be paid to the seller to be credited towards the order assuming it wasn’t
a fake order, otherwise seller keeps it. But even if the buyer turns out to
be fake then that $1.00 hardly seems like adequate compensation for wasting the
seller’s time.

As a recent new member, would I have paid $5.00 (or whatever) for a lifetime
BrickLink membership? The concept would have bothered me a little at first,
but yeah, I would have paid because I wanted buyer privileges. If that fee were
refunded back after so many orders, great, if not, not a big deal really.

Hmm, as I think more about it, such a payment would at least confirm that a buyer
is a real person and has a means by which to pay for orders online.

Ted

The solution is already here called Instant Checkout

Your time writing this worth more than a few cents and to be honest I do not

This is a fairly bad marketing idea for shops that probably don't work out
in the shops favour. I know a majority of my browsing has ended up in me taking
my business and money to another shop. Where I am either buying from someone
without a min buy, or selecting other items I actually want to hit that minimum
purchase amount. So my suggestion is to add a donation field/possibility to finish
passing the required purchase line.

I have only made 3 purchases since I joined but these 3 people are profiting
by shop deterrence over the min buy. One of which was a difference of 3 cents
to the min buy vs. paying 1 cent more for the same thing because it didn't
have one.

If a few cents deter you to buy then maybe Lego hobby it's too expensive
for you.

There are no plans to do so, but I hope that once the regular sales period is
finished Bricklink allows the inventory of these sets to be added to the catalog
so people can add them to a want list and buy the parts they need to build them.
Since they use mostly common parts, I think many AFOLs would prefer to build
them with the parts in their own collection, and just buy any ones they are missing.

Not only would this generate revenue for Bricklink by increased sales, it would
be an olive branch to the sellers who have been completely excluded from this
promotion.

Bricklink has done so much to build the AFOL community and it has become a verb
within our vocabulary (much like Google has in the general population). It would
be a sad irony if the sets created by Bricklink to celebrate AFOLs cannot be
Bricklinked by AFOLs.

I voted no.
They are MOC's not officials Lego sets.

Thursday. The street date is February 1.

They are already available in French Lego store, also in the French catalog the
release date is January (bottom left of the picture).

Most of supermarkets have them for sale in the last 2 weeks.
I already sold a few on BO which list them 2 weeks ago but Bricklink...

Please implement a testing framework for Instant Checkout such that …

1. Any seller can determine a number of test cases to valudate their IC shipping
parameters.
2. Those test cases can each be expresed as a script (textual or GUI object based).
3. The seller can then select all, or a subset of the test cases.
4, The seller can then submit those test cases as a batch request.
5. The BL system will then schedule and run those test cases.
6. The seller will then receive an email back showing which test cases were run,
what shipping methods were allowed, etc. This would be roughly analgous to what
is reported via the shopping cart display.
7. This would not involve actually taking any items out of inventory, nor creating
any real orders, but would be a test case simulation of that.
8. The seller could retain those test cases for later reuse, as various parameters
are modified.

thank you, Nita Rae

BL should put its picture and identifier on the front page for all to see...

There are a few parts that come up with some regularity:

I have no real personal reason to be posting this suggestion and haven't
thought about what it would mean for my own business, but just something I want
to throw out there as I've been thinking about it for a while.

Why not separate professional sellers and private sellers? I mean with an icon,
a label, a colour, something like that. Right now there are private persons just
getting rid of some old parts they aren't using, and online stores that use
Bricklink as their platform. An entirely different world in every aspect, but
they will show up in exactly the same way.

For years and years there's this eternal clash going on between buyers and
sellers and it seems like they sometimes speak different languages when the buyers
demand "their rights" and the seller has no idea what they're talking about.
Much if not most of the grief going on on Bricklink may be caused by buyers buying
from private sellers and expecting business service. The main example I can think
of now is about whose problem it is when a package is lost, but also tax and
refund issues get confusing if it's unclear whether we're talking about
two people trading or about consumer rights.

So how about labels for private sellers and professional sellers?

You don't really need a complex wine with pasta dishes; a fruity, often hearty,
rustic wine is often a good accompaniment. Tomato sauce based pasta dishes like
lasagne and spaghetti bolognese pair well with red wines with refreshing acidity–
try a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, young Chianti, or Barbera.

Is the quote function broken? I had a quote come in 5 days ago and I had no notification
or anything regarding it. I only knew because the buyer messaged me last night.
This is not acceptable.

Your site has duplicated lots on numerous occasions, this is not acceptable.

Also on numerous occasions I've had customers tell me that they cannot checkout
after ironing out potential issues I have found out it's the site, not me.
I've lost money to this and again, this is not acceptable.

Most things you post are vague from every angle and you sit in the shadows whilst
everyone is up in question. Regardless of if the feedback is good or bad you
still push out the garbage updates anyway. This is not acceptable.

Your site is very slow at times and it's getting more and more frustrating
when trying to work. All of a sudden the site will grind to a standstill. This
is not acceptable.

Your ability to inventory used Lego is appalling. Why not work on this rather
than Brickarms? that's right. Money. If it won't make you money then
you won't bother. This is not acceptable.

I sell on BrickOwl too and I've never had a single issue. You may be the
market leaders currently but your cockyness will catch up with you soon. I pay
my monthly fees on time every time and this is the mess I have to work with?
Can't it just 'work'? Why is everything difficult and half made?
Not acceptable. I'm tired of apologising to customers because of the issues
on this site. I dread to think how many people have turned away from my store
and not said anything.

I'm just frustrated and the quote issue lastnight was the tipping point for
me. Fix your site.

I'm aware there's trolls on here so please keep your witty comments to

What's about Bricklink going offline for a week because of a server problem?
