I woke to two separate messages from buyers who both say that they can’t check
out, and are receiving an error message saying “Items do not fit in the package”.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there a simple fix? Do I need to
change something in terms of settings regarding available shipping methods? Thanks!

I'd offer a manual shipping option in addition to instant checkout. Tell
the buyer to refresh the page once you've set it up, the option should be
presented.

Hello there. I need to ask for some assistance because yesterday I placed an
order on Bricklink (Lego 75192 - Millennium Falcon), and unfortunately, an issue
arose. It appears that the seller's profile (https://store.bricklink.com/picasso2257?p=picasso2257#/terms)
has been compromised, and he is unable to contact me through Bricklink. He states
that he no longer has access to Bricklink and has not received any payment. Coincidentally,
the store was closed this morning, and its location has been relocated from France
to the US.
Upon discovering this, I promptly contacted PayPal and submitted a refund request.
Additionally, I reached out to my bank to block the payment, as one half of it
has been made using PayPal balance, while the other half had been processed through
my credit card, and the payment was not completed. Now, I would like to inquire
about the likelihood of receiving a refund. I am aware that if the seller fails
to ship the package, I can fill out a Non-Shipping Seller form. However, how
optimistic should I be about getting my money back?
Thank you, everyone, for your assistance.

File a case on Paypal and submit a chargeback on the cc for the rest.

My question then, as a buyer, do people just prefer the instant checkout? Is
waiting for an invoice not that common anymore? Should I just remove the midwest
tier? Every dollar counts for me, but for buyers is it not worth the wait/time.
They just want to check out and be done?

Yes, absolutely. Also I took a look at your terms. It looks like only those buyers
who live in the states you designate can use the Manual checkout option. I understand
what you are trying to do but maybe you could make it a bit clearer and advertise
the discount ?

For example, in your terms, under shipping, write some text that buyers in these
specific states can opt for a lower shipping cost if they use Manual checkout.
But in the shipping description, I'd leave this out so that buyers who want
manual who do not live in those states are not turned away to buy from someone
else. It's confusing in my humble opinion.

In my experience, 99% want IC - its faster and easier for them . I offer local
pickup for anyone in New England and and tell them how to do this - manual checkout,
write a note asking for local pickup on order and then wait for the invoice.
You could offer this for your local buyers.

Just my 2 cents,
Alison

Hey! I recently had an issue with my paypal account and want to use a different
paypal account to make some purchases (or use stripe with a different debit card?).
I can't find anywhere where you enter in your own paypal information for
making purchases. I've made ~350 purchases and always used the same account,
so I've never explored this.

I appreciate it! Thank you.

If you are a buyer, what difference does it make which Paypal account you use?
I don't think you have to only use 1 type of payment if you want to purchase
on BL. When I use Paypal for purchases, the website I am on sends me to Paypal
and I sign in / and agree to the purchase. I think if you have a separate log
in for a different account, just use that.

  Hey there.
I received a neutral feedback from a new member of Bricklink. I do not agree
with the feedback as I messaged the person BEFORE the order was sent and the
description also mentioned that instructions were not included, yet he left feedback
that my description is misleading. If he would have read the entire description
he would have noticed that I mentioned instructions were not included, and I
also wrote a message through BL messenger that the instructions were not included
before sending the item to him. There was no response to any communication I
sent him. Is there a way to dispute feedback?

Thanks!

the buyer is upset that the listing said the set was complete. if you didn't
have the instructions, then don't list it as complete. List it as incomplete
and say why.

Lately I've seen a surge in NEW members (zero feedback), who end up non-paying.
I'd love to help newbies, but when I go through th effort of checking the
inventory, packing the set, and buying shipping, then the would be buyer cancels
.. that is really annoying.

Yes, I could wait for payment before buying the shipping label, but all of that
takes time.

Should we just ignore all new buyers with zero feedback?

I'd hate to tarnish their reputation and give a negative feedback, but at
the same time, I expect some 'courtesy/commitment' in return.

Highly recommend you set the require instant checkout for all new buyers on
your store. It is under Management and called "seller protection". As
others have mentioned - NEVER buy postage until the order is paid for.

How do stores found out how much year end we have spent on Shipping? (for tax
filing).
Bricklink only includes what stores charge overall. Paypal used to have this
until Ship Station took over, and they don't have this option. Any suggestions?

I keep a spreadsheet of all my sales with what I spent on shipping for each order.
This won't help you now, but a thought moving forward. I use Pirate ship
and there is a record of each label i purchased.

Not sure what you are shipping media mail - only printed material can be shipped
this way and certainly not used lego parts or sets.

I just wonder how many of you are experiencing
the same problems with USPS?

- Media Mail very often is scanned 2-3 days
after dropping off at the post office
or not scanned at all. Is it only my local PO?

- I just dropped off a package on 1-3-2024
it was a Priority. It took 6 days to arrive
from IL to Texas like First Class.

Some time ago on Priority shipping label you got
delivery date and it was very accurate. Now it's gone
and it looks like they are doing whenever and whatever
they want

It's so frustrating

Never use Media Mail anymore, it's useless and super slow. Ground advantage
seems to lag in certain parts of the country - I have one in Texas which has
fallen off the radar - it just keeps saying "arriving late, in transit",
which is USPS speak for we don't know where the h-ll the package is. And
there is no difference between priority and ground advantage that i can see -
it takes the same amount of time. Completely agree with the frustrating .

I think Bricklink should change its policy, as I have had the same problem.....

When you cancel an order on request of a customer, they should not be able to
leave a negative feedback!

It is a hassle to file an NPB, and wait a week before you can put the items back
in stock.

Yes, except the buyer is then free to do the same to another seller. 3 completed
NPB's and they are banned. Personally I don't know why BL cannot change
the policy to make it 5 days after the NPB is filed to allow the seller to cancel.
7 days is punitive.

I don`t know how this is even possible but I received negative feedback from
a buyer who did not like the shipping quote I gave him. I told him I would cancel
the order, no problem. After cancelation, he left negative feedback that I was
out to gouge buyers on shipping and I was unable to respond or remove. How do
I go about having this feedback removed? There is no longer an admin help so
I don`t know what to do. So no transaction ever took place and yet I receive
negative feedback? Any help appreciated.

As this was an international sale, as others have pointed out, shipping costs
are super expensive. You might want to consider signing up for Pirate Ship to
purchase labels. they offer something called Simple Export rate - you have to
message the support team to get it added to your account. Also an order is not
a quote. Quotes are non binding, not an order and no feedback can be left on
a quote. I find you have to explain to buyers how to do the quote and hopefully
you have quotes enabled on. your shipping options. It isn't likely this feedback
will be removed by BL but you can respond to it to explain about international
postage costs. Personally as a new seller, you might want to consider just selling
in the US. Unless the buyer initiates the cancel order, just go the route of
an NPB - any negative feedback can be then removed by the ADMIN.

The only option i see that you have is to cancel the order rather than go NPB
and then ban them from shopping in your store.

Thanks. Not going to cancel , just file NPB . It doesn't teach the buyer
anything if I cancel and then I cannot leave Neg fb without getting it in return.
I just wish BL would allow the NPB to close after 5 days after NPB opened.

Is it just the holiday season which brings out the newbie buyers who place an
order and then are in the wind about payment?

I've opened my store to allow 2 new buyers to purchase from me - didn't
have enough fb to do a manual invoice and my lot limits were low. They place
the order and then vanish, no payments. I've opened 2 NPB cases in the last
2 weeks .

I have reset my lot limits and expanded my shipping so IC can accommodate larger
orders in hopes this will fix the problem and send them to IC instead. I now
have 1 huge order , waiting for payment and it ties up my parts for 2 weeks -
5 days to open the NPB and 7 days to close. Not sure why BL cannot adjust the
close time frame.

Just wondering how other sellers handle these buyers - they don't communicate
or if the communicate it's along the lines of "can you wait a month for
payment", like I have lay-away plans ( LOL).

thanks

I apply goo gone and then wash with warm water & mild detergent ( dawn) to get
rid of goo gone smell. I also use an old soft toothbrush , less abrasive.

Do I have any options to get it marked as received and file it away from my view?
Or am I doomed to see it in my order list until the seller eventually marks it
shipped?

Have you tried messaging them to ask that they mark the order as shipped ?

Not that this would help your exact situation but sign up for informed delivery
with the usps, it is free. You'll get a daily email of packages on the way
to you as well as scans of all the letter mail (i.e. junk, coupons, and bills)
arriving that day.

That only works if the seller provides a tracking number. I don't understand
why some sellers are incapable of uploading tracking numbers to the order when
they mark it shipped. I do it all the time the space BL provides .

Twice now instant checkout has charged buyer's less than half what shipping
costs on new set orders. I've infilled the rates and rates on my shipping

advice is appreciated. It does fine with minifigure orders but gets stupid on
sets. I've disabled instant checkout and feel it's easier to do invoices.
At least I'm not giving my inventory away

If it hasn't been suggested already, recommend you consider manual invoice
for heavier sets. Or add some restrictions & package adjustments so that the
shipping calculates correctly. Personally I would just go with Manual , request
an invoice on these . Also make sure you set your own shipping settings, do not
import any - they are probably somewhat outdated.

  Hello Everyone,

I’m wondering if there’s a way to search for a shop by the town that they are
located in. I got an envelope with a few parts yesterday and I don’t think it’s
supposed to be here. I haven’t ordered in a while and my shop has been closed
about 6 weeks due to a family emergency (coming back soon I hope). I’ve emailed
two shops- one that I placed my last order with and another with a similar (but
not the same) name. I don’t see any recent PayPal transactions other than a payment
to BL. I’m just trying to get these parts to whoever they belong to.

Thanks for your help.

Karen

Is there a return address on the package ? I'd start by looking for the shop
by state https://www.bricklink.com/browseStores.asp?countryID=US&groupState=Y

DO NOT.

BrickLink will always propose the cheapest Shipping Option by default (so I guess
this one is free), and you'll get tens of orders with people writing you
"Oh no, sorry, I meant, sent by USPS it was a mistake!!!", and things
will be complicated especially if they already paid with $0 shipping...

This. Except they wont notice. You will notice, and then you have to message
them and disapoint them that shipping isn't free.

Just stick to manual invoice and charge nothing for shipping IMO

Thanks. Will do that .Great advice.
