You should file PayPal claims or a chargeback with your bank if you receive something
that isn't as described or not what you paid for; you should also file NSS
complaints (non-shipping seller) if the seller does not make things right and
isn't responding, as that's the way stores get shut down (3 strikes and
they're banned)

Never pay for orders through methods that don't have payment protection to
ensure you'll get your money back

This does not work once you pass the length of time given by Paypal. JoanyBrick
canceled my order after 3 months of back and forth but it was too late to get
the funds back from Paypal and this seller never returned the funds or responded.

If you order was paid for then cancelled you are entitled to a refund, if you
let it go past PayPal's deadline that is on you. 3 months of back and forth
is way too long. NSS is for your protection, and NPB is for a seller's protection.
People don't want to get anyone in trouble, but sometimes it's the only
way to get things done.

It was canceled after 3 months of back and forth. Once that happened it was past
the paypal time frame. Since this was in a different country I was trying to
give the seller the benefit. Won't happen again. I've done hundreds of
buys on Brickowl without any issues and I've done 5 buys here with 2 issues.

I thought paypal's timeframe was 180 days? Unless that's only domestic
to domestic.

I observe that some parts are regularly offered for exorbitant prices when there
is actually no reason for this.

Take for example this part

Part No: 19730 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Rectangular (Minecraft)
*
19730 Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Rectangular (Minecraft)
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear {Pearl Gold}

This was previously only available in set

Set No: 21127 Name: The Fortress
*
21127-1 (Inv) The Fortress
959 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2016
Sets: Minecraft
and

Set No: 21137 Name: The Mountain Cave
*
21137-1 (Inv) The Mountain Cave
2822 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2017
Sets: Minecraft

These sets were limited in number and are much sought after.

Since 2024, a new set

Set No: 21252 Name: The Armory
*
21252-1 (Inv) The Armory
196 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 2023
Sets: Minecraft
has been available that contains this part.
It can be purchased in any LEGO store or reseller. But I still see that every
new seller of this part bases their price on the original price when this part
was still rare.

This it totally nuts imo.

I'm thinking of parting out 10 sets containing this part and pricing them
at around 50 cents to change the price guide which will force future sellers
of this item to sell this item cheaper.

To the sellers: do you also experience these kinds of crazy things?

I've been observing this on

Part No: 90390 Name: Minifigure, Utensil Staff with Cobra / Snake / Serpent Head
*
90390 Minifigure, Utensil Staff with Cobra / Snake / Serpent Head
Parts: Minifigure, Utensil
since the start of my selling around
2016.

It was only avail in a CMF set from 2010 and was $4+

In 2017, it became available in a batman movie CMF and has since released in
3 more sets, and the price has slowly whittled down to $0.75-ish

So it appears, the market eventually catches up, but it can take YEARS.

Link says “LegoS”

I usually still call them "Legos". I called them that my entire childhood
and didn't learn it was incorrect until I was an adult.

It feels more natural to me, and I'll take that trade-off even if it makes
me wrong.

My customers always seem to have trouble following the process of approving an
item removal request therefore can these steps not be simplified?

A buyer has asked me to reduce the quantities they have ordered on a couple of
items from their order and whilst I have no issue submitting the request they
always seem to struggle to approve it despite me spending lots of extra time
trying to explain and direct them to 'MY BL' and then 'MY ACTIVITY'
to locate and approve the request

Does it even really need the customer to approve the change? If so why?

If this is required it really needs to be much, much easier for the customer
to do as the last thing I want is to frustrate my customer unduly before we've
even started especially since they actually originally asked me to cancel the
whole order so they could re-order what they needed (They asked me this twice
already!) but since it was only a couple of small adjustments I suggested against
this on the basis that cancelled orders make things messy and are not an ideal
look for a seller (Potential fee avoidance attempts from BL's point of view!)

any other sellers experience similar problems?

I've never gotten it to work when it's an IC order, so I just end up
eating the selling fees on items that were sold, refunded. And then I re-list
the item later.

I guess if Bricklink made it easier, they would miss out on revenue so they're
actually incentivized not to make it easier.

How should I store empty akro-mils drawers after somebody buys all of the stock
in them?

I put them back in the same spot.

I then query my inventory using XML exports and excel when doing an upload to
find the most empty drawers. I have all my drawer numbers hard coded into the
query and if it returns an error saying it can't find a particular drawer,
then the code changes that drawer's weight to 0g or empty.

  You gotta be kidding me!

This is the first time this has happened to me in a lot of orders on here.

I ordered what was supposed to be new Lego pieces.

I received used Lepin or other off-brand pieces. One stud on each piece is indented
where the Lego logo would go.

These people should not be allowed to operate on here. Go sell that junk on
fleabay.

I once ordered a few 100 used 2X4 bricks in any color for filler, and one piece
showed up as a mega-block. I tossed it in my off brand pile and pulled an authentic
lego piece from my bulk. I didn't bother the seller as it had the appearance
of an honest mistake on a low value piece.

Sounds like what you're describing is the whole order is off brand and not
NEW as advertised. This is a very different scenario, and the previous advice
given by other users is your best bet.

Hello there. I need to ask for some assistance because yesterday I placed an
order on Bricklink (Lego 75192 - Millennium Falcon), and unfortunately, an issue
arose. It appears that the seller's profile (https://store.bricklink.com/picasso2257?p=picasso2257#/terms)
has been compromised, and he is unable to contact me through Bricklink. He states
that he no longer has access to Bricklink and has not received any payment. Coincidentally,
the store was closed this morning, and its location has been relocated from France
to the US.
Upon discovering this, I promptly contacted PayPal and submitted a refund request.
Additionally, I reached out to my bank to block the payment, as one half of it
has been made using PayPal balance, while the other half had been processed through
my credit card, and the payment was not completed. Now, I would like to inquire
about the likelihood of receiving a refund. I am aware that if the seller fails
to ship the package, I can fill out a Non-Shipping Seller form. However, how
optimistic should I be about getting my money back?
Thank you, everyone, for your assistance.

Very good odds if it was through paypal goods and services. I once bought a pair
of fishing reels from a sketchy website and they never sent them, so I filed
an item not received case via paypal, and then whoever was on the other end did
upload a tracking number, but the random number they uploaded said delivered
to a completely different address in another state, and I pointed that out in
my response and paypal sided with me.

OK, we will see.

Niek.

You will see, just make sure your shipping method is the right one.

My speculation:

Removing a bunch of your inventory so there is only 1 or relatively few items
at 95% off while everything else sits in your stockroom so you're TECHNICALLY
not lying will make for some angry commenters I'll bet.

Have a wonderful day!

Congrats on the milestone!

Wouldn't a milestone placed at 1609 feedbacks?

This is more a ten-kilometerStone!

Funny you say that. I was obsessed with running track in hs and we all knew the
trivial info that the 1600m race wasn't a true mile being 1609m.

Fast forward to engineering degree in college where half the math on any problem
was unit conversion. SOOO many times, I used the 5280 / 1609 ratio off the top
of my head in my calculator to convert distance units and I never had to waste
precious test time to look up the conversion rate.

Seems like just yesterday when we were "racing" to 2000 when I was at

I lost the race despite the 800+ head-start

I'll always be inspired by the dna brix entrepreneurial story.

Important update to the sellers' correction list:

I think I broke the wanted list upload feature trying to get the second head
batch uploaded.

Originally, I was gonna go through and note stud type on heads, but after giving
it some thought, I think I'll just let the changes go through and consolidate
the soon-to-be-duplicate lots when the time comes.

From a stud type on head stand point, I've definitely used the "wrong"
stud type per a fig's inventory to complete a fig or even encountered
it like that from a lot that was unlikely the original owner changed it out.
Tells me there was a lot of undocumented cross over where the alternate stud
type head was never listed as an alternate item. I think it also created dead
inventory as buyers looking to complete a certain fig wouldn't add that non-used
head to their wanted list.

I never once had a buyer complain that the wrong stud type was used, but I also
tried to make it accurate whenever possible and would really only do it when
it was likely a cross-over era. Obviously, wouldn't put a hollow stud on
a vintage castle fig etc...

So my thoughts are this might be a good change for heads and may help eliminate
some dead inventory for the heads that were previously only ever listed as alternates
in sets or not listed in any inventories at all.

There may be some collateral damage, but I think it will be a good move overall.

At least for heads. I don't list enough bulk parts to comment on those.

In 2021, the name on this part changed from "100 dollar bill" to "100
paper bill"... seems like an odd move to me.

Certainly made it harder to search.

And maybe other regions or countries would refer to it as a "100 paper
bill" or the feeling is that "paper" is more generic bc not every
country's currency is a called a "dollar", but I feel like that could
have been added to the "dollar bill" verbiage.

The part appears to have had the same name from 2001 to 2021, so I think there
should be more consideration put into changing the name on parts with established
names.
