Hello! A buyer in China wants to check out for his order from my store but gets
the following message: "No Shipping Methods Available. I'm sorry but the
seller can't ship your order with any of the shipping method available."

I have orders open to all countries. Other foreign buyers have used either the
Quote feature or Leave Order Open so that I can manually invoice them but this
buyer does not see that option.

I've checked my shipping methods and options and even created a new one specifically
for China and manual invoice but still nada.

Am I missing something somewhere? Some setting I overlooked? Or is there a simple
solution someone can offer that I can create a new shipping method so that this
buyer can complete their order?

Thanks in advance!

Have them send you a screenshot of their cart, I have found that when listing
some items the dimensions of whatever it is are overlooked sometimes and will
trigger that message. If they do send you a screenshot it will have a little
lightning bolt next to the item. You can go in and edit the item with dimensions
and that will fix it. Happened to me yesterday. While not a common problem, it's
also not uncommon.

I have a buyer that placed an order via instant checkout. As I was getting ready
to pull his order I see a message to please cancel the order. I send the buyer
a message that they needed to file an OCR and copied Bricklink's OCR terms
page for their reference letting them know that they would need to give a reason
for cancelling.

Buyer just sent another message that I must cancel the order I my end since we
mutually agreed to cancel the order.

1) Buyer still hasn't given a reason to cancel the order
2) I have not agreed to cancel the order
3) I'm not given the option to cancel the order by Bricklink when I attempt
to do so.

So my question, how is the order to be cancelled when it's already been paid?

Buyer is fairly new and feedback is not so great with him already receiving NPB.
I'm getting the vibe that he's not going to be very cooperative and
don't want to leave myself open to negative feedback.

Thank you all in advance for assistance.

Thank you everyone for your help. You all rock! I believe I've got it taken
care of and it's all thanks to you!

One thing to remember if you do that on a paid order, Paypal doesn't return
fees so you are paying their fees(paypal), if we have that request, and we generally
don't, I would refund but less the paypal, non-refundable fees.

This has been going on since March/April, on yes a very large order.

I really do want the sets; they're very hard to get in the USA. No money
has traded hands yet, or else paypal would have been involved long ago.

Why don’t you just cancel and move on? If this has been going on for that long
it seems a little weird that either party has let it drag out that long and no
money has even been exchanged? Chock it up and least favorite the store.

I've recently had the displeasure of working with a store that, every few
weeks, submits a new item removal request for sets from the order, stating that
they no longer have the sets. This has been going on for quite a while (I just
really want my order at this point, but I'm not sure if that's ever going
to happen)- is there a bricklink policy against this? I keep approving the removal
requests because I still want the remainder of the order, but I feel like I'm
being strung along, and don't really have any recourse...

My question is this a single order or you make multiple orders with this store?
We run a retail store as well so if by chance we do get an order in that a retail
customer has bought that item during the day our inventory system doesn’t update
until midnight if we let it update automatically. We can and do take out manually
but it does happen from time to time. But I do defer to my initial statement
if this a single order or you are buying multiple times from this store?

Oh hahaha, can anyone even have them in hand right now to list for sale?

From what I saw/heard, some people were able to get next day shipping, so possibly.

I don't know if I can give a partial refund through the BL option or not.

Managed to save someone a reasonable amount on shipping, it was £2.55 and I'd
like to refund it, is it working and does it allow partial refunds, how does
it work ?

I know BL, unlike PayPal, doesn't charge fees on shipping but is it designed
to refund any amount for whatever reason ?

The feature is convenient but just remember that when you do refund that PayPal
doesn’t refund fees involved.

I've seen packages 2 - 4 weeks from USA to NZ.

Parcels are arriving quicker from USA than those shipped from from Australia!

As an overseas buyer, I vote to open up shipping, just be sure to send parcels
tracked.

Everything is tracked from the US, you don’t have an option, what hangs it up
is when it’s handed off to another countries customs and mail service. I will
see if there are a few more responses from other areas and make a plan.

Thanks

I am not a typical store, only sell instructions, and my orders generally spike
up in the fall and through December due to my Winter themed instructions and
people building custom models as presents for their loved ones.

Here is my 3 year trend.

Miro

Folks who sell sets typically see a surge in sales this time of year as people
are starting their holiday shopping, though it seems to be a slow start on bricklink
our in store sales seemed to be trending upwards, again we will see in the next
couple weeks what the trend seems to be on BL

It's much slower, we usually pack up 10ish orders a day and this past week
it's down to a couple a day,

Scott

I wonder why?
Regards
Nectara

Could be several factors, Covid, money has run out from federal assistance, election
cycle, and folks may not be spending due to those factors. The next couple weeks
will tell the story as holiday shopping comes into full swing. We have a retail
store also but numbers are up there.

I got an email that 3 of the minifigures I uploaded were removed because they
violate the item listing policy. They were incompeten but I specified in the
comment section what was included. I see other people doing the same thing. I
looked at the item listing policy and it made no mention of not being able to
post incompete minifigures. What am I doing wrong?

See this page:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102
"Incomplete Minifigs - All minifigs, both New and Used, must be listed as
Complete. Incomplete minifigs should be broken down and listed as parts, or
listed in the custom items section with a custom photo and clear description.
"

is this a new rule because I see other people that have incomplete figs listed.
why was mine removed?

I can give you two answers, and forgive me of one of them sounds snotty, its
not my intention:
The rule was written on 18 September 2020 and enforced as of that date with no
notice to you as seller. You can think of that what you want, but in the message
you received from management when your listings were removed, you were supposed
to see a reason. That might still be the wrong reason though. As best I know,
management is not sifting through listings to remove said listings. Your listings
were removed because a user submitted a problem listing report. The reason you
will have on your notice from management is the reason chosen by the user concerned.
The correct reason for removal of incorrectly listed minifigures, was only added
yesterday, but it would still be required of the user reporting such a listing
to pick the correct reason.

On the other hand:
You listed a catalogue item with a catalogue image and a catalogue inventory.
It is reasonable that here be no listing policy for incomplete minifgures as
such a thing cannot exist. A minifigure is a catalogue item, and if the lot you
are listing does not correspond to that catalogue item, it is, simply put, a
custom item. It can be reasonably expected that in listing a lot that references
a catalogue item, that the lot should corresponds in all respects to the catalogue
entry.

Probably by allowing this to persist for some years and then suddenly out of
the blue taking the time to fix this is not the best approach by management (actually
it is not a not even a decent approach), but sellers listings items like that
are at fault. I get buyers buy such items. But until such time as the catalogue
gets dis-invested from your store lots, you are bound to list what is in the
catalogue. If it deviates, it is custom, at least as far as minifigureas are
concerned.

You should be able to list as incomplete just like a set is listed as incomplete.
It would have saved them a ton of time in scrolling through minifig listings,
than if they were to just add that feature when listing minifigs.
My 2 cents worth

It mostly had to do with one's involvement in the 20 Days of BrickLink event

Please refer to our store terms for info regarding current shipping destinations.
We have been stocking more sets, minifigs and parts all through this and our selection is ever expanding.

Looking forward to serving your LEGO needs soon :o)

We tend to go back and forth on whether to maintain a Stockroom for reserve inventory.
We welcome your thoughts.

WITH A STOCKROOM

Pro - A reserve allows one to seldom run out of parts (# of Lots & Store size
remain consistent).

Pro - A single MOC Buyer cannot wipe out a particular part, thus eliminating
numerous potential orders from Buyers seeking fewer parts.

Con - Initially creating and maintenance of moving parts out of the Stockroom
into Active inventory can be time consuming.

WITHOUT A STOCKROOM:

Pro - The Lot Count for your store size is greater with all items for sale.

Pro - Larger inventory is available for immediate sale.

Con - If all parts are sold with no Stockroom backstock, one is back to time
consuming sorting and a time lag of replenishing that part.

On items where I want to sell smaller quantities of parts, I put the remaining
total in the remarks, and use the Retain feature. When a lot sells out, it is
retained as a 0 quantity, which is easily searched in inventory. I then adjust
the remarks field for a new lower quantity, and change the actual quantity to
that change.

Currently I use stockrooms for items I currently have in stock, but not up for
sale. My shop was moved recently, and I have a bulk of items in storage temporarily.
Most of my Used bricks, my set boxes, instruction books, and more. I also use
one stockroom for parts issues. If I pull parts for an order, and there are many
more, or many less than the remaining stock shows, I will quarantine that lot
to a stockroom with the remark Locate. I can then search back through and find
the shortage parts, or recount overages when I get time.

I am pretty much using the stockroom right now for all my parts, with the exception
of a few categories. I shutdown the parts dept when Covid hit and I couldn’t
keep up with daily orders anymore. We have a retail store and since Covid hit
it has fallen upon my shoulders to essentially run the retail store and bricklink,
so until some normalcy comes back we will utilize the stockroom until I think
I can handle the influx of orders and then release the Kraken. Since I am nearing
a million items in inventory now, most of it stockroomed, I will have to adjust
terms when I do open it up to the public.
