Certainly smells like fee avoidance. Ironically, other than one item in their
entire store, their prices and limits are also seemingly built to ensure you
pay their fee for orders under $5.00.

Without onsite payment with Paypal and/or Stripe, you cannot sell to any state
that has sales tax.
Also, if you supposedly NEED to charge a 33% fee on purchases to keep in business
(which I seriously doubt), you are doing something horribly wrong and I'd
suggest reworking how you do things or stop selling altogether. Those terms are
actually against paypal's terms of service, and could get you in trouble.
|
My favorite part is the charge is to cover their income taxes based on their
income that is now being reported, income which they were supposed to be reporting
before regardless of getting a 1099 from PayPal, yet in their terms they state
"Nobody likes to pay taxes and fees to useless morons in government but I am
not going to commit fraud nor do business with those that request it."

We purchase approximately $1m worth of LEGO products per year for resale, but
we are new to using BrickLink for sourcing. We are a registered corporation and
reseller all of the required forms to be exempt from Sales Tax on orders of LEGO
products.
Even after providing our sales tax exemption certification and pointing BrickLink
Support to the state laws that require vendors to ACCURATELY collect and remit
sales tax, they still won't do it.
I will unfortunately have to do a credit card chargeback, which BrickLink support
will probably push onto the seller (which is not what I want at all).
BrickLink Support told me that they have no method to process Sales Tax refunds...
lol...
Anyone else have difficulty with BrickLink support being humorously bad?
How do you claim your sales tax refunds when using BrickLink?
|
Rather than doing chargebacks against sellers for this, a sketchy idea at best,
especially since you will be negatively impacting sellers who largely have no
dog in the fight, may I suggest instead following the TX Comptroller's process
for recovering the funds when a permitted purchaser pays sales tax.
Follow the process established by your state for this scenario; don't issue
chargebacks against innocent/impartial sellers.

It is showing as available on Lego.com right now, at least it is for me. As for

Just because you can post a link, to a message where one seller seems to think
it's working, does not mean it actually is working. I just went and created
a test shipping method, then selected Courier API.
|
I don't seem to think it is working, I have and am currently using
it and it has been working without issues for me.
|
First, it still has the same limitation that it had several years back, in that
it does not offer any choices for Priority Mail other than Flat Rate. Normal
Priority Mail packages, based on weight and limited to one cubic foot, are not
supported.
|
To be clear, this was noted in my comment: "it would be nice if it would do the
same for Priority and not just First Class Package"
|
Second, when you click on USPS First-Class Packages (commercial, then ask for
the Rate Chart, it shows me a rate chart that is old, very old.
|
Also, as noted in my comment, I acknowledged the fact the rate chart is severely
outdated. However, I actually tested it, rather than relying on the outdated
rate chart, and monitored the first order(s) to come in under that shipping method
to ensure it was calculating and charging the appropriate zone based shipping
prices based on my shipping method parameters.
|
I do not see any indication that Courier API is actually doing anything different
than it did two years ago, nor do I see anything that gives me confidence that
the limitations have been addressed.

|
In a perfect world, BrickLink would have something called Carrier API, which
actually calls the USPS / UPS / FedEx / DHL APIs.
What we have is something called Carrier API, which is based on tables that were
loaded several years back, and have never been updated. Anyone using the existing
Carrier API is getting badly outdated postage rates.
Nita Rae
|
This is not exactly true. I am using the Carrier API option (also domestic only,
instant checkout) and it charges correct based on current USPS prices. I was
hesitant to try it at first, given the visible table is badly outdated, but the
first order that came through was invoiced and buyer paid the correct amount.
BL could do a better job at updating their visible table on the shipping method
page, and it would be nice if it would do the same for Priority and not just
First Class Package, but the Carrier API option has been charging the correct
postage amount.

The minifigure is in the Ultimate Spider-Man category. It doesn't really
matter whether he wore the same, a similar, or completely different outfit or

And he is named, by LEGO, on the box for this set as Power Man. There are no
other LEGO Power Man minifigures that he can be confused with, so no extra qualifier

Bingo.

True. I only added the extra about the video game to emphasize this was NOT Victor

The OP is not saying that this isn't Power Man, it's that this is 'Power
Man (Luke Cage)' rather than 'Power Man (Victor Alvarez)' that is
currently listed in the Minifig name:
I tried looking up images of both versions of the character and I can definitely
see the confusion. The Luke Cage Power Man only has this look in the Ultimate
Spider-Man cartoon series and has a much different look in most other comic instances.
In most of the images of Victor Alvarez's Power Man that I found, this is
close to his outfit as well.
That being said, I tend to agree with the OP that this should be renamed to Power
Man (Luke Cage).
Josh
|
I think we should just change it to Power Man, like the box says.
|
Member DeLuca just changed it back in June, so it had just been "Power Man" for
quite a while. In any case, the character *is* based on the Ultimate Spider-Man
animated series. And in that series, Power Man *is* Luke Cage. I agree with you
though that it should just be "Power Man" again.
Cheers,
Randy
|
Are Luke and Victor BOTH Power Man in the show?
|
No.
|
Is it unequivocally Luke Cage but confusing because he is wearing the clothes
that Victor wears in the comics?
|
Yes, it should be Luke Cage, the original Power Man. Luke Cage was Power Man
in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series. Also, the same outfit is used in the
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and LEGO Marvel Avengers games. In the first one (Marvel
Super Heroes), the character is just referred to as Power Man. However, in the

So I'm going on vacation soon and was looking through the forum to see if
more information had been provided regarding this and could not find anything.
Out of curiosity, I went to the help page (last updated July 28) and saw that

If you close your store for any reason, you will be eligible starting from the
day you reopen."
Just thought I'd share in case anyone else had missed this. Secondarily,
does anyone recall if this change was ever actually communicated and I just could
not find it or missed it?
