I have had several GWP ship separately but it mainly depends on the set you order.
Bigger sets tend to be stored in their own shipping box in the warehouse.

I agree with this statement. I' not sure if it has to do with the location
the sets are shipping from as well or if a specific distribution center has run
out of a set, but I've had it both ways.

I received a neutral feedback from a new member of Bricklink. I do not agree
with the feedback as I messaged the person BEFORE the order was sent and the
description also mentioned that instructions were not included, yet he left feedback
that my description is misleading. If he would have read the entire description
he would have noticed that I mentioned instructions were not included, and I
also wrote a message through BL messenger that the instructions were not included
before sending the item to him. There was no response to any communication I
sent him. Is there a way to dispute feedback?
Thanks!
|
the feedback you received & your reply are seemingly skirting around the issue
of the Instructions not being Included with the set.
sounds like you goofed up & listed it was 'Complete" when it actually
wsn't. it was missing the instructions.
the instructions are a piece of the Originally Purchase-able Set.
you sold a Incomplete set as Complete.
what you should learn from this is too slow down while listing items & be sure
everything is set correct and either buy the part you need in order to list the
set correctly or part it out for others.
|
While you are correct that the seller made a mistake as they mentioned in another
post, but it was not that this should have been listed as Incompleted. A used
set does not need to include instructions to be marked complete.
Used Sets - The set has been opened, inner bags are no longer intact and or was
previously built. If parts show excessive wear, discoloration, excessive scratches,
other marks, etc. this must be noted, as well.
(without sub-condition) should indicate in the description if any contents are
missing.
Complete - Set contains all parts necessary to build all of the models (including
alternate models) in the instructions but does not have to contain the original
box/packaging and/or extra parts. If the set is missing instructions, the description
must list this. If the set did not come with instructions then the set should
include all parts listed in the picture inventory which is located on the box
or bucket. The set must include all original stickers used on the model either
still on the sticker sheet or applied.

As long as it was an instant checkout, you can still make updates. Go to your
orders page and add the amount to the "shipping" block then apply it
to the order. When you generate your invoice now that amount will be part of
the total.

It would be very helpful, if the list could also be sorted by "Still neeede

This is already an option. On a wanted list page, click the drop down next to
"Sort By" and select "Have Qty". Then you can choose up or down
for the order based on your needs.
Additionally, if you go into a wanted list and next to the search bar click "More
Options". At the bottom of the center section there is a check box to "Hide
Items if Have Qty is = Want Qty".

| I wanted to post here to see how many other LEGO fans have felt similar frustration
and confusion about LEGO's own cultural stance to printing yellow only minifigures
for their non-IP sets (ICONS, City, Winter sets etc, etc).
|
I actually thought counterexamples would be easy to find and I was surprised.
There are a lot of town-looking minifigs with other skin tones, but even though
they aren't main characters they are from sets based on movies.
I am old enough to remember there were brown minifigs alongside yellow before
any of the modern skin colors were produced, but I see it was all or almost all
for movies. Just when those were still yellow also. Which undercuts the idea
that yellow is neutral. It wasn't neutral when Luke Skywalker was yellow,
but Lando needed to be brown. At the same time, the classic grin represented
both boys and girls until Pirates and Paradise.
It is a weird spot. LEGO has a classic thing that is part of a lot of childhoods
and they want to continue with that tradition and maybe they are a little stuck
in a blind spot? LEGO certainly cannot be described as a company that is ignoring
diversity. They just added 2 new skin tones this year. There are children,
middle age, and elderly. Wheelchairs, hearing aids, and a minidoll missing a
hand. They've cranked out a lot of coiled hair pieces in the last few years
and there is a minifig head and a minidoll head with vitiligo. They are definitely
making big inclusive efforts.
I am accustomed and endeared to the yellow minifig. I would miss them if they
disappeared, but I can see that it is at LEAST confusing. It is true that yellow
is on the light end of the color palette and I am speaking as a white person,
but I don't look yellow. They don't REALLY look like me. As far as
I know, LEGO has never explicitly explained it. They've just left it inferable
that the the yellow minifig lives in a world where everyone is yellow. I think
LEGO could make the case that yellow minifigs are not white. They are everyone.
But they really ought to make the case out loud.
|
But if the City set all stay the same and everyone in the Lego-sphere is alike,
similar where race and color of your skin doesn't matter, doesn't that
mean that they are being all inclusive?
In my mind, the inclusion and use of skin tone in minifigs is to be more specific
of the individual that they are trying to represent in the specific sets. Think
Star Wars where there used to be yellow minifigs and then transitioned to be
skin tone to better match the character. This is different where you have non-specific
sets like the foosball table or sets that are not representative of specific
individuals. There I think Lego is actually being as inclusive as they can be.
IMO the City sets are classic/traditional that still represent the Lego world
where we all live together IN THEIR SPACE and this is not meant to be a consideration.

but I'm concerned about damage to the plates. Boxes seem the most safe but
more costly to ship. What are your recommendations? Thanks.

I've not shipped any myself, but I received a few and they always been in
a box. I would accept the higher shipping cost as a buyer (or a seller if I
listed any) to make sure they arrived safely and not risking a returned or charge
back.
