| Not exactly. This was just the latest issue. I've been increasing frustrated
with BL for many years. Ever since Lego took over or maybe even the previous
ownership.
It is a good time to move on.

| Sellers go on vacation and close their store. They often offer a message with
store password or to contact them to obtain it.
What I tried to do was essentially the same thing. The item is in my store inventory.
This is just another load of crap and bogus BL ways

it should be in a store and available to buy. It shouldn't be "send me
a message and we'll arrange a deal" - even if the intention is that the
deal is done with a password through the store.
Otherwise, what is to stop others posting about deals that involve contacting
the seller to arrange the sale. Any closed store could do it, saying the plan
is to put it the sale through their store. No doubt some would avoid fees by
not putting it through the store. So better to keep it simple and have no "message
me for details" sales.

| Because I don't have a reasonable alternative to sell this item.
1) price it at $1000 with contact for actual price (risk being least favorited)
2) price it at $185, increase my risk of fraud
I'm going with option #3. Leave BrickLink. If I can't sell a single
rare item in a way that is convenient for me, then I don't need to be here
anymore.

That would make it much easier to maintain haves vs. needs.

| No thanks. This is just asking for problems like the previous times they rolled
out major updates.
The people working on updates, especially significant upgrades, likely have limited
knowledge of the site's functionality including workflow that are important
to everyday users.
I vaguely recall losing valuable features in one of the past updates.

| I know. BUT, I'm already frustrated with Lego s@h and don't really have
$455*.
If this set was something I could just buy locally, then I probably would have
splurged and sold off the excess. It would likely work out cheaper too.
* Viking village is just days away and it's must have (maybe even 2 copies).
Part of me wishes it was castle theme (wolfpack?) instead.

This whole complaint is about dishonesty. For instance, today Lego updated the
status to shipped again, changing the ship time to 5pm, whereas yesterday it
said 2pm and I can't remember previously.
Lasership still hasn't received it according to the status.
When Lasership decides not to deliver it on a specific day, they will offer a
confusing/dishonest explaination and ask you to contact them. BUT they don't
actually need you to contact them, because they will just deliver on the next
business day.
a) can't find the address
b) no access to address
c) security issue with leaving the package on doorstep
d) etc.
It's a stupid game and I loathe games like this, but I have little options
to acquire many of the exclusives. I did not have this issue when Lego s@h used
Fedex.

| Why does it take so many days for Lasership to aquire the packages from Lego
S@H?
Fedex was so much better and more consistent. Fedex also didn't come up
with weird B.S. reasons why they "couldn't" deliver certain days
like Sunday. Each time it is just a made up excuse instead of just being honest
that they don't want to deliver* (which is okay, just make it policy).
I now only buy exclusives from Lego S@H because of this lousy change. Rant over.
