Why should I pay fees for a website service that doesn't provide me the service
I pay for?

Man, every 2 weeks it's a horrible Monday afternoon and evening, I checked!

It seems even get worse after TLG purchased this website.

Voting for a non-fee-payment strike?

I just tried to check out an order at a store in the UK, Paypal process seemed
to work, but then when back in BL and attempting to verify, I got this:

"We encountered PayPal API error while processing your payment. Please check
your order or payment status and try it again"

Has anyone a clue what is broken here?

Same with a Russian order I placed 2 hours ago.
I am not reporting these things anymore, fixes have unexpected results so I think
it is better to NOT report anything so it can't be broken any further

As a buyer, I use the 'paid' option to inform my seller I have paid for
the order.
Usefull for non-instant-checkout sellers!

You mean the Studio Gallery?

If you have the members name, you might contact him/her/them?

Thanks for the heads up Russell.

Can you share a bit more on the short-term fix that has been installed? Is there
major concern regarding stability?

Loading times for the inventory items is very long in the sandbox.

Thanks for the update again Russell !

The explanation of what the CEP in fact is, is not all clear to me on
the FAQ page. Maybe I am far off, but I expected something like this:

In the CEP the tasks of running BrickLink as a internetplatform are passed
onto several individuals (all members of the community!), all of whom enrolled
in the CEP. Together, along with the BrickLink employees they keep this site
up to date. There are several roles to be fullfilled. Please check the FAQ below.

A 'plan' must involve something like that doesn't? A reason why CEP
is here, what it encompasses, who are in the plan, how do you get into it, how
long will it endure, what are the rewards?
Some more clarifaction might be usefull to the non-CEP members

Will that actually happen with Bricklink? The crystal ball is very murky over
this - to us they are throwing away potential buyers with a business model that
only has a slim chance (if any) of succeeding.

Unsurprisingly a new Bricklink may emerge which will attract the real Lego people
- the community may yet re-emerge

I guess the model is based on the assumptions:

1) only onsite/instant checkout will be allowed in the future (like the Lego
website)
2) a few large shops with massive inventory will show up in searches (like paying
with adwords to Google)
3) smaller sellers will eventually evacuate the building, uh Bricklink

It's a digital version of what happened in many cities: big formula companies
push smaller retailers out of city centres with only small niches to fill. Those
will stay, but the majority of your bakery, bookstore, music store and other
stores are already gone and will not return.
The big guys are taking over....
