As previously discussed for another set, it's my belief that the 2L hoses are PLG, not
flat silver. They seem to have the same color as the bionicle teeth which are PLG in
this set. But a change of this is likely to be rejected, I'll not do it here but only
leave my thoughts on it.

Why would you say it would be rejected? I would be more than happy to look into
this before making any determination.

Could you post a picture of the hoses from this set next to the Bionicle teeth
from this set? I may not be considered one of the resident color experts, but
I do know my LEGO colors quite well. In the meantime, I will search the intertubes
for other data points.

Cheers,
Randy

Because the last time I discussed this regarding the color of hoses, we never
came to an agreeement. The admin would rather base the BL inventory on an official
TLG product photo than on actually bricks found in a lot of bricks where the
hoses could only have come from the particular set in question (matching both
length and "twistedness"). One of the last things that were written were "Further,
there is some debate over whether PLG and flat silver are officially different
colors or merely variations in what TLG intended to be the same color." So I
chose to stop the discussion there rather than wasting everybody's time.
Here's a link to the discussion:

https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=234514

I would never base any decisions on official set photos. They are notorious for
being wrong in many instances.

Anyway, I have to withdraw my claim in this thread, because I just compared with
Flat Silver hoses in my stock and PLG hoses from set 8637 (I still claim that
these are PLG) and the two hoses from this are definitely Flat Silver, not PLG.
So no change there, please.

No problem. However, I did find evidence from many unboxings of this set that
the hoses - in this set, at least - could be either the lighter PLG or the darker
Flat Silver.

Cheers,
Randy

No, not difficult to implement; just slightly difficult to get the right minifigs
into the catalog quickly. For now, I will add an inventory note to the set stating
that the other two figures should be without helmets, and I will see if I can
get some cheap figures for the fixes.

Cheers,
Randy

Sorry to disturb this post.
but I don't understand something:

On this link (unboxing of 8714) you can see the minifigs are pre-build (or mounted?).
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=268806

The helmets are not on the minifigs.
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Rober-to/Technic/8714/8714b.jpg
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Rober-to/Technic/8714/8714a.jpg

Same for set 8640:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=285129
or set 8620:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=490149

Yes, the figures always came fully assembled. In other words, they were not meant
to be taken apart. However, people here have asked for the ability to sell individual
parts from these figures because they *can* be taken apart to some extent.

The catalog admins changed their policies to allow the individual parts from
these figures to be added to the catalog. The inventory admins need to now determine
how to handle these figures. I think it is necessary to go in the direction of
inventorying these figures with individual parts if the parts are to be added
to the catalog. Otherwise, there will be more orphaned parts in the catalog,
and the new admin team is trying to move away from items in the catalog that
are orphaned (not attached to any inventories).

Although these Technic figures will have an inventory attached to them once individual
parts become available, the main set inventories that include these figures will
always show them as coming fully assembled. Determining whether they are in the
set with or without helmet is left to the set instructions just like all other
figures in the catalog.

Cheers,
Randy

Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 8272 Name: Snowmobile
*
8272-1 (Inv) Snowmobile
331 Parts, 2007
Sets: Technic: Model: Off-Road

* Add 1 Part 4274 Light Bluish Gray Technic, Pin 1/2 (Extra)
* Add 1 Part 78c02 Flat Silver Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. 2L (Extra)
* Change {2 to 1} Part Light Bluish Gray 4274 Technic, Pin 1/2

Comments from Submitter:
Source: MISB-based set that was never mixed with other bricks. According to instructions (book 1), there is only 1 part 4274 in set this (so the other one is therefore extra). My set had an extra hose. BTW - 4 pieces are not used for the main build: 1x57520, 1x57518, 1x3647, 1x4716.

We do intend to address the issue of the differences between these colors when
we launch the project on colors. It is possible that pearl light gray and flat
silver will be combined into a single color, but we can discuss it further at
that time.

Until then, I see (and saw) little point in changing PLG parts to flat silver
parts and vice versa. If we combine the colors, then it's just a waste of
time to do inventory changing now from either color to the other.

Ok thanks.
The thread raised some concerns on splitting these, but also helped answer my
initial request.

In Catalog Requests, StormChaser writes:

I believe these to be two separate minifigs as there are known printing differences
between the two from the x-wing & the sandcrawler. They are even named differently
in the two sets. Please can a new minifig entry be created. See pictures for
variation of printing...

I have read the arguments for and against. I was originally in agreement with
creating two new figures and marking the current one for deletion. However,
I am now against it because there appears to be no way to tell which one is which.

I have added an additional note to the top part:

Part No: 98100pb01 Name: Cone 2 x 2 Truncated with Black and Red SW R5-D8 / R5-D4 Pattern
*
98100pb01 Cone 2 x 2 Truncated with Black and Red SW R5-D8 / R5-D4 Pattern
Parts: Cone, Decorated

I have expanded the additional note for the figure:

Minifig No: sw373 Name: R5-D8 / R5-D4
*
sw373 (Inv) R5-D8 / R5-D4
Minifigs: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

I also updated the titles of both of the figure-specific parts to include both
figure titles in them instead of just the existing one. I was unable, however,
to approve your request to split this figure entry.

We have now after this change 323 parts in inventory. There is a possibility
that we still could have one part too many. Parts count on box 322.

P.S. According to offcial Lego intrnet inventory should be 323 parts https://brickset.com/sets/8283-1/Telehandler,
then we have it correct now.

Also, I can confirm all other counts (including extras) for this.

Ok thanks so 323 is correct number then.
