  Hello,

Can you recommend any good sets to part out?

I will share two i've found so far:

Set No: 70607 Name: Ninjago City Chase
*
70607-1 (Inv) Ninjago City Chase
213 Parts, 5 Minifigs, 2017
Sets: The LEGO Ninjago Movie
Ninjago, 10€ pick up price

Set No: 21042 Name: Statue of Liberty
*
21042-1 (Inv) Statue of Liberty
1685 Parts, 2018
Sets: Architecture
Statue of liberty, 79€ pick up price.

Both sets offer around 3x return at avg. pricing.

It depends what you can buy them for. Also make sure that the parts sell and
that the prices are not high because the parts are new. Some have a high part
out price, but the parts rarely sell, or they are skewed by a few high priced
parts that are new and about to tumble in price.

The Statue of Liberty one is down to the 1x1 plates in Sand Green....

BUT.... look at the amount of plates now available with the European sellers,
and think about how that particular piece was available prior to that set coming
out, and why there was a high demand for that part.

I'm actually hoping that the LEGO group will bring out a common set like
Minecraft that will use Sand Blue and will have the 1x1 plate in it... (I need
approx 550 of them to do a mosaic)

Look at the price of that piece and think as to why....

Regards,

Paul

I also noticed that digital Maul head differed last week whilst trying to work
out which head/minifig this yellow variant belongs to...

  How can we be certain this is a genuine variant taken from a new set & not a
used minifig with a head thats been handled & had the chin dimple wiped off?

Agreed especially that these early head can vary in pattern, the best example
is:

Part No: 3626bps8 Name: Minifig, Head Alien with SW Darth Maul, Red Face Pattern - Blocked Open Stud
*
3626bps8 Minifig, Head Alien with SW Darth Maul, Red Face Pattern - Blocked Open Stud
Parts: Minifig, Head

btw this head

Part No: 3626bps2 Name: Minifig, Head Male SW Brown Eyebrows and Chin Dimple Pattern - Blocked Open Stud
*
3626bps2 Minifig, Head Male SW Brown Eyebrows and Chin Dimple Pattern - Blocked Open Stud
Parts: Minifig, Head
occur in 6 minifigs so it would not only be in sw024

Here is another variant of print for this head
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=978216

So there are more than one variation of print for it

I just didn't want to start a new thread; sorry for not catching the overarching
topic. and I was thinking "screwed", which is not all that bad.

I'm trying to see if the face can grow on me, but Woody Harrelson has more
firm features (expression, jaw, etc.) than what Lego's paint scheme conveys.
Agree that the hair was/is a dilemma for Lego; I have not researched what's
out there, and do not know the challenges of a Tobias hair mold.

In the catalog, when I sort the category of Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D. by item name,
I find these parts

Part No: 5102c45  Name: Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D.  45L / 36.0cm
*
5102c45 Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D. 45L / 36.0cm
Parts: Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D.
and

Part No: 5102c62  Name: Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D.  62L / 49.6cm
*
5102c62 Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D. 62L / 49.6cm
Parts: Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D.
are out of order, or is it just me?

Also this part

Part No: 5102 Name: Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D. (Undetermined Length)
*
5102 Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D. (Undetermined Length)
Parts: Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D.
when sorted by item name, its position doesn't seem in alphabetic order (that
i recognize...)

My theory, display name and (hidden) sort name are not in sync....

Part No: 32064 Name: Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Axle Hole
*
32064 Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Axle Hole
Parts: Technic, Brick

There is a new variation of this part which I recently discovered. In the latest
variation the interior is not a full circle and there are slots in each side.
The slots are difficult to see, but definitely there. This variation does not
appear to match any of the current three variants.

Please add catalog notes to this effect and feel free to use any of the attached
photos.

Part No: 2335  Name: Flag 2 x 2 Square
*
2335 Flag 2 x 2 Square
Parts: Flag

This part comes in two variations. The earlier variation has clips which are
noticeably thinner.

Please add a catalog note stating this and feel free to use the attached photo
(earlier version on the right).

Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 8862  Name: Backhoe
*
8862-1 (Inv) Backhoe
671 Parts, 1989
Sets: Technic: Model: Construction

* Change 1 Part Black {5102c36 Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D. 36L / 28.8cm to 5102c40 Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D. 40L / 32.0cm} (Counterpart)
* Change 1 Part Black {5102c38 Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D. 38L / 30.4cm to 5102c42 Hose, Pneumatic 4mm D. 42L / 33.6cm} (Counterpart)

Comments from Submitter:
The fist page of instructions shows the lengths of hoses needed. I am changing two incorrect lengths of Black 28.8cm and 30.4cm to 1x Black 32cm and 1x Black 34cm. (Actually 34cm is being approximated by the closest catalog match of 33.6cm, since the catalog hose lengths increment only in .8cm units)

I agree. You can see where the drill bit went through the tubes inside the brick.

Does each end have similar holes to the ones you've shown ?

Yes. The holes are identical to the holes found on the 3709's. 3 on each
long side, 1 on each short side, and 3 in top/bottom.

Why not 3709c?

Because 3709c is made from two parts (notice the line in the picture),

Well, I know 3709a is split, but the pictures of 3709c are just bad renders,
so I wasn’t sure 3709c was split too.

It was.

   and it doesn't exist in white.

No. The catalogue doesn’t know it exists. It doesn’t know a set where the part
would have appeared, or of one such part sold in the last 6 montths.

Now, as it’s not split, but (as shown on another of your posts) it has a bottom,
maybe it’s a prototype?

What?? I have no idea what you mean, and, according to Google Translate (which
I realise is terrible), "Ah, Hollywood, tous des planqués!" means "Ah, Hollywood,
all hiding!", further confusing the matter!

Sorry, I thought the joke could translate (especially for a Virginian (as many
people in Virginia join the Forces)).

“Tous des planqués” does indeed mean “all hidden / hiding.”

It’s a phrase said by (or that we put in the mouth of) veteran grunts, or reactionary
types, when they want to mock the higher ups or the ones who never volunteer,
opposing the thinkers to the doers, the braves to the “cowards.”

It was meant as a joke on the prejudice that “Hollywood” (actors, writers, …)
never serve, and thus don’t know the purposes of insigna, one of them being to
make the rank clear.

Well, as someone said, explaining a joke is like dissecting a frog: when you’re
done, it’s dead.

I didn't think of that, but that's probably it. The holes are a bit unevenly
positioned (maybe 1/10th of a mm, but it's clear by comparison).

Thanks.

Well, I just thought about it some more. If it was a customized brick, what part
was it made from? I can't think of any.

BTW - It has "Pat. pend" in the bottom.

Comments from Submitter:
The figure I have comes with this head that has a blocked open stud (alternate item). So there are versions with head 3626bpb0583 and versions with head 3626cpb0583.

Unfortunately, minifigure inventories cannot currently be corrected for things
like this. These issues will not be corrected until we can include all the minifigure
parts in the Regular Items section of the inventory and the minifigures themselves
in the Assemblies section (which hasn't been created yet).

Until the inventory system can handle things properly, we are simply including
inventory notes for affected figures. That's what I've done here. Your
requested change was not approved.
