It's not so much a matter of freedom of speech as it is cultural expectations.
In the U.S., people talk about religion freely. In Western Europe, religion is
considered more of a private matter, not fit for an internet discussion forum.

Thanks Bricks Of Faith.
It will be sad to see you go as I have enjoyed seeing you post funny things and
insights on lego.

You will be missed,

The thing that is honestly making me leave is not because of all of the many

I am now receiving threatening private emails. I’d report the emails and user,
but as I am sure the mods are upset with me as it is, nothing will be done. Simply
because of my stance on religion, I am being very degraded. Which is expected
because in Christianity we are told to expect hate. I tried.

Sorry mods for this long post. I’m sure your gonna delete it anyway.

Thank you all in the forum who has treated me so kindly throughout the past few

I hope you will take this advice, in the Spirit in which it is offered. The forum
rules restrict certain highly controversial topics in order to keep everyone
friendly, and focused on the main purpose of this site, which is after all, something
as "worldly" as selling plastic toys.
However, you might well consider that one's faithful witness needs to exist
in a much broader world than a mere lego forum, or the statements you can make
here. It is really about living and growing every day, and in every area of life,
so as to demonstrate outwardly the reality of what you believe. A wise man once
said, "The Word is not bound". The rules exist, but are only restrictive within
a very small forum. In the big scheme of things, nothing can really hold you
back from doing what you feel is right.

I hope you stick around.

is right.cannot really hold you back.

You are correct! I feel, however, that If I’m not allowed to voice my opinion
on something as little as my faith, then there shouldn’t be any reason to stick
around on this forum.
I’ve gone back and read many threads including one about removing guns from culture.
There are also members who are specifically devoted to spreading topics like
pride month on their store (and sometimes on the forum), a very serious topic
that can create some very heated debates. this shows me that stuff like that
can stay on,
While mine can’t. this all shows to me that they simply
pick and choose what to delete and what not to (I’m sorry moderator dude. You
seem great. Don’t take offense to what I say.) I will definitely continue selling
on here, but my forum activity will drop a lot. A lot of you guys have been very
good to me! Especially @popsicle! thank you all for everything! I will show up
randomly, so be prepared! Just not so often. Ciao!

This reply seems as if it's trying to make a bold statement of some sort.
Anything can result in an argument depending on the environment within which
it occurs. You reference a user with a specific username as a possible source
of an argument, but that user has only made one forum post about store sales
with a reference to the current month. Rule enforcement is actually pretty consistent
here.

I know from where you’re coming from, I understand. That said, let’s consider
what’s unfolded since you’ve jumped into the forum with both feet: All the fellow
BL members that you’ve gotten to know better? How about your Father’s Day, was
it made more? https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1346099 Or the
many others that chimed-in to lend support?

It’s about connecting with each other, real connections.

That said, the TOS are for all of us including those that run the site. They
are guardrails on the highway we have chosen to travel together upon. The Discussion
Mods in doing their job, are by design the immutability hard material of those
guardrails.

The way I see it, you're well within in the net plus column here in the forum.
But going forward please feel free to contact me, or any of the others that have
publicly shown willingness to help; we'll guide you with things such as TOS,
etc.

Personally, I view strongly held spiritual beliefs, as beautiful and delicate
flowers not to be picked or ripped from it's natural state within the mind,
but something to admired without disruption.

-Cory

Unfortunately, as I mentioned before, I couldn’t even find the TOS until the
Moderator guided me to them. That was embarrassing 😂

I honestly did try to find them before posting such a thread. If I had known
it was a written in stone rule, I would have gone towards that post very very
differently.

Haven't seen any arguments for the absence of the belief, thems' hard
to detect anyway, but we are pretty agnostic regarding flat silver and other
metallic colors.

Joking aside, from the looks of it, the moderators have not banned you from the
forum or asked you to change your name/picture. No one is asking you to reconsider
your faith, it's just not tos.

Yes, but BrickLink is supposed to be a "safe space" where people can come together
to talk about LEGO bricks without being confronted about religion and/or sexuality.

FYI, the dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner is https://forum.bricklink.com/
(hover over the red Studio icon on every page, then click “Studio Forum”).

Please search the forum for your question before posting a new one (the search

The thing that is honestly making me leave is not because of all of the many

I am now receiving threatening private emails. I’d report the emails and user,

Sorry mods for this long post. I’m sure your gonna delete it anyway.

You shouldn't quit because of this. The forum is not a place for religion
and for politics. If you around years ago the were heated debates and some very
nasty things posted without religion or politics. Imagine what the forum would
be if those were allowed.
While I hate censorship, having studied Nazi Germany and the USSR, it is not
really censorship to not allow these subjects (Forum fights). We cannot post
nude pictures of people nor can we use all the fun descriptive words we all know,
use, and understand. I look more of what is not allowed as leaving more relevant
topics germane to Lego and or the personalities of those posting and reading.
Besides, I do not want to show everyone that disagrees with my views on these
subjects how wrong they are.

I didn't, even if I don't share your enthousiasm.
I'm sorry you quit.

On the other side, IMHO, I think religion (like sexuality) is your private domain,
your private choices.

I'm not fan of proselitism - but I do recommend BrickStore ha ha - or
someone trying to "sell" me his own faith, or again, sexuality.

I think I wrote you about this and your choice of name and logo, which could
have participated to your least favorite position, plus maybe this post you're
talking about but that I didn't read (was cancelled before I came).

All that said, you shouldn't leave for this, IMHO again.

Good luck!

a good rule of thumb regarding religion in general is to treat it as your private
parts: don't show it in public unless you're in the correct forum, don't
impose it on others and stop thinking the world is being run by it

Yeah,
I feel like the storyline was a bit forced. Though it really did make good characters.

Sure - that part reminded me of nothing so much as Star Wars. But there were
lots of other things about the movie that also required suspension of disbelief.

I don't mean to rag on it. They set the rules of the game and then put on
a fun show.

It gave me a similar feeling that I got from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. They
waited SO long to continue the story and then drop little bits of untold history
that make me resentful that they didn't make the movies in the middle.

The movie did a lot of lying to force the plot into the mission that they chose
that would require and show off amazing pilot skills. The weirdest lie is the
notion running through the movie that the US has fallen way behind in fighter
jet technology. China and Russia do each have a very nice 5th gen fighters,
but neither is as fast as our F-22. I don't plan air strikes or anything,
but when you take away the artificial constraints of having superior and faster
enemy craft, the other constraints fall away too. A handful of F-22s could fly
in at normal altitude and probably go undetected by the missile systems and enemy
patrols until they accomplished the objective.

But if they used F-22s then the movie would be about the Air Force and not the
Navy - I'm assuming the parameters of the mission required launching from
a carrier instead of an airbase.

I WILL NOT SPOIL IT. I watched it on the weekend and it was great. Back when
the first one came out it was epic (for its time). Now I've watched them

The storyline was great and I recommend it to anyone who is thinking about watching
it.

What do you guys think of it?

What are your thoughts on the movie?

The Cute Giraffe

It is not really my usual kind of movie, but a friend invited me and I enjoyed
it.
