I think the tab at the bottom is some kind of standard attachment because I have
seen pictures of boats with different motors attached to that tab but never found/seen
a matching LEGO motor.
(That was just in passing that I saw the pictures. I’m not an expert in motors

Are they clicked into place and 'need pressure' or a tool using a certain

with no hope of removal. 4010 in particular has 2 holes in 2 adjacent studs for
some reason that might allow a long thin prong tool access to a internal clip
but am loathed to attempt until I know more. 4005 has no such design.
Any advice no matter how small appreciated.

Definitely view your inventory by Item Type and you'll be able to select
all of the minifigures by checking just one box.

This won't answer your original question (hpoort explained that well enough),
but to do what you put in your example, all you have to do is go to inventory,
then sort by item type, check the boxes for everything except minifigures, then
under the "Update Inventory", select the "update availability" and put them in
the stockroom.

It is a technical issue that you will find on almost every web interface.
[Ctrl] and [Shift] only work to extend a selection if the data is contained in
a single control, usually a list control. What you are looking at on Bricklink
is a web page, basically an entire text document, not a single list control.
The web report just contains a bunch of essentially non-related checkbox controls.
Your browser would not have a clue how to interpret your [Shift+Click] other
than to select the text from point A to point B, which may or may not include
the entire set of checkbox controls.
I don't know the seller interface, but on various other pages on Bricklink
at the very top of your list of checkboxes, there is an extra checkbox to click
for [Select all].

| | that when issuing a refund, sellers have to calculate the total amount with tax,
issue the refund through BL and BL will automatically separate the tax part and
the seller will only be debited of the actual part amount?
I wish sellers would know the proper procedure for a refund, and that BL would
communicate it clearly (and as intrusively as they communicate how invoices should
be paid...). I think I'll start putting that info when I email sellers about
missing parts.
|
About 1/3 of the time the BL refund system throws up an error and won't process
the refund. At first I would simply re-submit and keep trying until the refund
finally went through. But, sometimes PP has pushed the refund, but BL doesn't
see that it has been accepted and continues to throw up errors all while refunding
the money over, and over, and over again. Now I try once and if I get an error
I go straight to PP and issue the refund through their system. I don't always
remember the tax issue, so hopefully this thread will help keep that top of mind
for me.

BL messages can be received by e-mail and thus read but not “read” as a BL message.
That being said, 3 weeks, no answers, and you already paid: file an NSS, https://www.bricklink.com/retractOrder.asp
That should at least wake up the seller.

Sellers occasionally close their shop to catch up on orders or for other reasons.
I wouldn't be too worried. Has the seller shipped the order yet? It's

I now had several times that I got this message on top of my list of orders received.
However clicking on " 1 order" what supposes to link to this order does not
help to get there and there is nothing in my selection when filtered on OCR.
Is this a technical issue or am I doing something wrong and how can I trace this
order?

| Hello,
it looks like the Quote Request form for UK RFQs is not working correctly. I
have similar issue on 2 quotes already.
The first issue is I can add shipping costs only once and no further change or
add of additional costs is possible. All results in to following message: This
Quote can not be updated because all numbers had been updated already.
In addition, the Quote calculation is different in the line on the list of all
Quotes Received page and on the Quote details page. Here is an example:
Calculation in the line of the list of all Quotes Received page is correct and
shows:
Order Total: 1,384.88
Shipping: 433.12
Final Total: 1,818.00
Tax BL collected: 363.60
Grand Total: 2,181.60
In case I go to Quote detail page I can see following:
Item Total: 1,384.88
Shipping: 433.12
Est. United Kingdom VAT: 363.60
Grand Total: 2,545.20 (!!!!!)
As you can see the GRAND TOTAL is different. For Quote to Buyer is used the wrong
number from Quote detail page. It looks like the UK VAT is calculated twice there.
Any idea what to do with this?
Thanks in adavance for any help.

Yes, it should. It's not a hydralic piston (fluids can't be compressed),

But you should feel a decent resistance to compression and the piston should
not be able to pressed fully down (when the air inlet is blocked)
If you can press it fully down easily, it's leaking from the seal/top and
is defective

I just scored Hogwarts Castle (4842) at a yard sale, and put it together only
to discover that it’s missing a few pieces (mostly basic stuff, but also two
of the owls, a rat, and some roof pieces) and half the minifigs (missing Harry,
Hermione, Voldemort, and the dementors), plus a few pieces broke during assembly
(which is a new one for me, I’d never seen a 2x8 plate snap)... I kept a list
of what I’m missing, but am not sure what to do with it. Is it better to try
to buy replacements for all the missing/broken parts, or to sell it as-is with
a list of what’s missing? And should I leave it assembled when I sell it?
Thanks!

Nice find!
Some enjoy completing sets, but if you're just looking to get the most bang
for your buck, then you'll have to do a bit of analysis. How much did you
buy it for? Make a wanted list with all of the missing pieces and play around
with the Easy Buy/Buy All page to get an idea of how much it would cost to complete
the set. Then look at some of the used listings and try to determine whether
or not it would be worth it to complete the set or sell it as is. And I would
definitely disassemble the set before you ship it; I have never had anyone try
to ship me a used set assembled before (except for stickered assemblies, of course).
I hope that helps!

Well, I found that menu, but at least it does not act on "easy buy", but this
is, what you mentioned already. The instant checkout is also ineffective. I am
surprised, that "easy buy" is so inconvenient or nobody likes to use this
quite good function.
Best regards and thank you for your support.

Hello Joerg,
The problem with the "Easy Buy" function is that there are no filters/parameters.
All you can do is click "Easy Buy" and it selects stores for you, from anywhere
in the world and regardless of whether or not the store offers instant checkout.
This makes the feature quite useless in my opinion. However, the wanted list
buy page that SylvainLS mentioned is essentially the same thing if you use the
"Auto-Select" feature, but it allows you filter stores by location, whether or
not they accept instant checkout, etc. This is much more useful in my opinion.
As a side note, the instant checkout filter will filter out stores that do not
accept instant checkout, but that does not necessarily mean that you will actually
be able to check out with instant checkout. For example, I used to have a weight
limit of 16 ounces for instant checkout orders, so my store would show up in
the list if you applied the instant checkout filter, but if your order was over
16 ounces, shipping would show up as TBD and you would not be able to use instant
checkout. Other stores only offer instant checkout for orders under/over a certain
value or only to certain countries.

And you replied explaining about Store Filters and "Instant checkout". Well,
this is a perfect answer I guess and would support also my issue I have with
"Easy Buy". But even checking for weeks the "My BL", I do not have any clue where
to find such entry. Would you be so kind to explain, where I can find this entry?

The filters are on the Buy page: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page
, the link is in the Want menu / heart-shaped icon on every page, or if you click
Buy when looking at a Wanted List (not EasyBuy on the list of Wanted Lists).
You’ll need to click the “Expand” link next to the phrase “Store Filters” to
see those filters.
See this help page https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2445 it has pictures
and explanation for the basics.
Feel free to explore and click here and there, nothing bad will happen
And, of course, come back here if you have any other question.
