The owner of the store Atoms & Bricks confirmed that the yellow windows have
glass. Note that his set is EVEN the later release since the wires have light
gray connectors.

I have also checked some used ones. All their windows have glass. (including
27c01)

Photos 2 and 3 belong to the store Bluxe.

The second is a slope I found and I can't really explain the speckle. It

Does anyone know how the slope got speckled?
Anyone interested in owning them?

Is it a 1x1 slope? Top corners look sharper/more angular than normal - you sure
its not a clone?

I respected. But now I read this for the first time https://news.lugnet.com/lego/?n=1791

Whoa, was it really that dumb? That's one of the most pathetic things I read
in a long time and I don't even know where to start.. 1. they don't
even save any money on the change?? 2. I don't even believe that since to
me as an artist the pigments actually do look alot cheaper 3. how can you give
such a dramatic change so little thought 4. what does it even mean when someone
says "next time I will listen to you as well as a group of kids before I make
my decision" 4. how can you apologise so pathetically and give absolutely
nothing and not even make the smallest bsh*t gesture of saying you will pay more
attention next time and literally write there will likely be more "mistakes"
5. ...
It would really have been better if they had not written anything at all. IMO
They don't deserve to have apologised.. Glad I never read it at the time

Apologies if the colours don't come through very well; I took the photo in
bright outdoor light, with the Texas sun at just after high noon. If that isn't
natural light, then anyone's guess on that definition. Background is a sheet

Light black? seriously, if I would venture a guess it would be a darker version
of DBG. With all the shade variations you just never know.

It looks darker on the photo than it actually is, difficult to say. My guess
is it is regular Orange.

The photo makes it look like regular Orange, but I am sure you checked that.
So if it isn't regular Orange, that leaves Earth Orange and Medium Orange.
Earth Orange is the darker of the two, so I would assume it is that one:

However, I would check against Medium Orange, also, just to be sure:

Have a sealed minifig pack with that head plus the instructions show that one.

Everything I've found says that although the set box and instructions do
show the figure with the standard grin pattern, the set actually came with the
head as shown in the current inventory.

Since I cannot verify the accuracy of this request, the request was not approved.
For reference I have attached a photo showing how the set appears when the box
is first opened.

Proof is a correction sheet which I've uploaded as extra instruction image. Will also post it as reponse to this request in forum. At least some of these sets come with this change. If this is considered a redesign, feel free to change match ID to 99.

I don't have this set, so I'm curious why this change was made. It would
seem to me that it would be making the structure less stable, but I'm only
seeing this initial page.

Josh

Maybe they temporarily ran out of 4x6 plates, or maybe they had accidentally
packed a million sets with wrong pieces and needed a quick solution?

Yes I removed it from a factory sealed set. I was given the minifigs to put in
my collection and someone else had the set.

Wee bit of a problem with your photo. The set includes one complete minifigure.
That's one head, one torso assembly, and one legs assembly. You said in
your original post:

Have a sealed minifig pack with that head

Your photo of the sealed bag from the set shows two torso assemblies, two legs
assemblies, and three heads with no other parts. That ain't quite right,
friend.

In fact, it's way off. Did you personally take that bag out of a factory-sealed
set which had not been tampered with?

The system does not directly notify anyone of changes to set inventories.

No, you would not be notified.

Does it get automatically moved from my store to my stockroom until I verify the change?

No, this does not occur.

Inventory changes seem to happen all the time for sets and it doesn't seem
to cause much of an issue, so wouldn't minifigs just be treated the same
way?

Yes, changes do frequently occur in set inventories. I have never been told
why minifigures are treated differently.

However, any issues regarding what officially constitutes a minifigure should
be addressed to the catalog administrators. These issues are not inventory issues
because the catalog entry for a minifigure predetermines what the inventory of

You are correct. The changeover from older grays and brown to the newer shades
occurred in 2004.

That's correct. In 2006 LEGO changed Light Gray to Light Bluish Gray, Dark
Gray to Dark Bluish Gray and Brown to Reddish Brown. So all sets from after 2006/2007
have these 3 new colors and all before have the old colors. So the old colors
become more and more rare - especially in new conditions.

I had a specific question about this part of your response.

How does the system take into account inventory changes in sets that sellers
currently have for sale? Say I have a used set for sale in my store and someone
makes an inventory change to increase the quantity of a part from 3 to 4. Would
I get notified that an item I have for sale has been modified? Does it get automatically
moved from my store to my stockroom until I verify the change?

Inventory changes seem to happen all the time for sets and it doesn't seem
to cause much of an issue, so wouldn't minifigs just be treated the same
way? Or is this another case where minifigs should be treated as a 'set'
of minifig parts but aren't (like 'no alternates in minifig inventories'.

According to this review in this set are smaller ones palm leafs

This is an area of the BrickLink catalog where there is inconsistency. Any changes
made to minifigure assemblies should ideally be system-wide, which would involve
policy changes and multiple new catalog entries and deletions of existing entries.

I'm open to that, but I do not have the final say-so in matters such as these.

In this particular instance, the proper route would be to submit a new minifigure
to the catalog with photo. We typically don't change the inventories of
minifigures because we don't want buyers or sellers to end up in a bind.

I don't think that much needs to change, this figure is the only situation
I am currently aware of that something that is "biologically" part of a body
is removed for the Bricklink figure.
But I do get your point about modifying minifigs. Too tricky since there is a
picture that has it without that part and sellers have already been listing them.

I'm curious however how many have assembled/packed them the Bricklink way
and how many did it what I think is the right way (if you look at the instructions
and every picture of the figure). When I packed them, I didn't even have
a second of doubt that 1 of these 5 parts could be not a bodypart. There also
exist crab pincers and such that are "handheld", plus this part is literally
in a bodypart category. Apart from this minifig, the Bricklink catalog always
made perfect sense to me.

I don't have any of these figures anymore, otherwise I would at least submit
a picture for a possible addition.

The plant CMF

Minifig No: col215 Name: Plant Monster, Series 14 (Minifigure Only without Stand and Accessories)
*
col215 (Inv) Plant Monster, Series 14 (Minifigure Only without Stand and Accessories)
Minifigures: Collectible Minifigures: Series 14 Minifigures
is in the same situation (the plant 'arms' aren't
included in the minifig entry).

Even Wolverine

Minifig No: sh017 Name: Wolverine - Hair
*
sh017 (Inv) Wolverine - Hair
Minifigures: Super Heroes: X-Men
doesn't have his claws in the minifig entry, which
are integrated into his body (following the movies/comics anyway).

It's confusing that minifig entries contain everything present in the LEGO
instructions *except* for what is in the minifig's hands. So Magneto

Minifig No: sh031 Name: Magneto - Red Outfit
*
sh031 (Inv) Magneto - Red Outfit
Minifigures: Super Heroes: X-Men
comes with a dark gray 1x2 round plate because it's attached to his feet,
Iron Man minifigs come with the 1x2 round bricks on his feet, but Wolverine doesn't
get his claws because they are in his hands.

Minifig inventories really should include *all* accessories as pictured in the
instructions.

Have a sealed minifig pack with that head plus the instructions show that one.

Please share pictures of the sealed package. I've watched a couple of YouTube

If the set did come with a different head, then a new minifigure should be added

Huh? Surely this can't be intentional? If it is an accessory, why are the
4 on his back then considered part of his body?

It's not an accessory..

Please do not delete this part. It is used in Carnage's hand as a weapon.

Cheers,

As I explained the part is part of the minifigure. It is its hand, not a weapon.

I now have to buy them from another seller because I sold the minifigs and according
to Bricklinks these arms should still be in mu inventory..

This change is incorrect. The minifig only has four of these appendages, and
four are already listed in the inventory.

Please do not delete this part. It is used in Carnage's hand as a weapon.

I know that the process of studying, doing an analysis and finally making a decision
for each inventory change request is not entertaining much.

Ah, it's not so bad. It's not as entertaining as a rock concert, but
it pays the bills (just kidding). It does take time, though.

This is why I am giving a new type of evidence. Hope it satisfies you:

It was very satisfying. No question about the 2 x 2 bricks. I have attached
photos from the video for future reference. The red brick is harder to see,
but it definitely had inside supports.

For supporting the addition of "boat weight" to 7735, I made a huge effort.

You finally accepted the request but you didn't reply to my question that
if the evidence was good enough and 100% convincing:

I had to take the time to go back and look at the request again. Now that I
have looked again, I'm not sure why I approved it or even if I did approve
it. However, as you say the evidence must have been convincing enough because
it was approved.

Sorry I can't be of more help here, but because of the volume of change requests
I tend to forget them once a decision has been reached. For the boat weight
it looks like the top and 5th studs on one side have special indicators for type
one weights, but it's hard to tell in the photo if either the top or 5th
studs are visible due to the position of the weights in the packaging.

Indeed, in the "boat weight", inside all studs there is a Lego logo. But for
"train weight", four studs don't have Lego logo. Let "L" stands for Lego
logo and "N" for no logo. Then the studs in train weight are like this:
LN
NL
LL
LL
LN
NL

Based on this, we can see that the weight we can in the video is a boat weight.
Indeed, if it was train weight, the studs without Logo would be flat and reflect
light in a way you would notice easily.

By the way, I have requested to change the name of "train weight..." and "boat
weight..." to just "weight...". They have nothing to do with boat or train, just
one variant is replaced by the newer one.

Unfortunately, we don't see 3002. I am sure it came in this set.

It is unfortunate. I could not in good conscience approve that portion of your
requests, but the 2 x 2 requests were both approved.

  The inverted 45 2*2 bricks

*
3660 Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Flat Bottom Pin

have inside supports. Why don't we split them like bricks 3002 and 3003?

No idea - that's a question for the catalog administrators. Honestly, if
you added every possible variant to the catalog, then the whole enterprise would
sag and buckle under its own weight. After some point it all gets a little ridiculous
and a line must be drawn.

As an example, look at this thing:

Part No: 2536 Name: Plant, Tree Palm Trunk (Undetermined Type)

2536 Plant, Tree Palm Trunk (Undetermined Type)
Parts: Plant, Tree
Marked for Deletion

The undetermined part appears in 61 sets. There are five known variants (one
just recently added) and those combined appear in only 16 sets. Even in those
sets they are sometimes (perhaps frequently) mixed. How long do you think it
will take to get that undetermined entry deleted from the catalog because it's
no longer necessary?

Like I said, you've got to draw the line somewhere. TLG is inconsistent
in many ways and seems to always be tinkering with things. If you really want
to open a can of worms, imagine the catalog split between plant-based and ABS
parts.

I am not suggesting to split the inverted 45 2*2 bricks and I admit we should
draw a line. I am just wondering why the cross support is a cause of split for
3002 and 3003 but not for these bricks? However, the shape of the bottom tube
is a cause for distinguishing between

Part No: 3660 Name: Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Flat Bottom Pin
*
3660 Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Flat Bottom Pin

I don't find this consistent (and I understand it is hard or maybe impossible
to be consistent )

Actually, the policy is:

"Extra parts are typically not removed from inventories or reduced in quantity
unless it can be determined that they were originally added in error."

If the extras are shown to be wrong, then they can be changed.

You've submitted many challenging requests for this set and 8435. We will
get through them, but it will take some time. Just wanted to let you know that
we won't forget about them.

requests, but the 2 x 2 requests were both approved.

  The inverted 45 2*2 bricks

Part No: 3660 Name: Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Flat Bottom Pin
*
3660 Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Flat Bottom Pin
Parts: Slope, Inverted
have inside supports.

If you really want
to open a can of worms, imagine the catalog split between plant-based and ABS
parts.

I forgot this in my previous request. 11+6 = 17 i total, same as Peeron.

I know that your policy is never reducing extras, but in this case, I believe
(and I think that my previous request proves) that this inventory was far from
correct so that this extra reduction is relevant.

Comments from Submitter:
Source: MISB-based set that was never mixed with other bricks. I'm updating the extras count so they match the contents of my set (which also makes the counts identical to the Peeron inventory), and I'm also adding alternates for two axle connectors (the red and DBG were the 6538b versions). Please note that the regular counts for this set does not match the counts in the building instructions, which may account for the generally high count of extras and the extra axles/liftarms. I suspect that the current regular count is what is used for the main model build. I don't know BL's policy about this, so if you want to change this, please do.

I know you're buying some of these older sets, so if you're able in the
future please include pictures of the part still sealed in the bag. This will
be helpful for people in the future.

Do you not need anything this time, then?

There are more old sets on the way. I really want to find an undetermined part.
Maybe 2536e WAS an undetermined part?

Hello

I just counted my old 8435 set which was bought MISB, assembled once and then
stored in a bag until today. Just like a few other Technic sets previously discussed
in this forum, I have different counts for my set, and again, most of my counts
correspond to the counts at Peeron. My counts are also backed by my instructions
(see attached images) which is identical to every other instruction available
at Swooshable (I only checked the count for the 6-axle which is 7 in all scans).

Because I cannot find any proof of the current inventory's correctness (other
than it's been confirmed thrice in 2004/2005) and because the current inventory
doesn't list any extras (which may explain some of the wrong counts, but
not all), I claim that it's both wrong and incomplete, and I therefore submit
my corrections which also include extras and a variant.

Please note that Peeron also lists 2 other parts as extras (1 Black Technic Bush,
1 Yellow Technic Bush 1/2 Smooth). I can't confirm this as they're not
in my set and have therefore chosen not to include them at this time.

Also, a note should be made on this set, because my set contains mixed colors.

4 of the 16 Technic, Axle 3 with Stud are Dark Gray instead of Dark Bluish Gray
1 of the 7 Technic, Pin 3/4 is Dark Gray instead of Dark Bluish Gray
1 of the 4 Technic, Pin 1/2 is Light Gray instead of Light Bluish Gray

BTW - My instructions books are numbered 4257712 and 4280174.

/Jan

Ryan,

According to your color chart (http://ryanhowerter.net/colors.html) it looks
like it could just be a production difference, as there were 3 shades of lime
14 years ago.

Medium Lime (1998-2005), Color ID : 115 (Lego), 76 (BL)
Light Lime (1998-2007), Color ID : 120 (Lego), 35 (BL)
Lime (1998-present), Color ID : 119 (Lego) , 34 (BL)

Just to be clear: you opened 4 brand new sets which were the same 14-year-old
set. Three of these sets had the parts in one shade of green, presumably lime,
and the 4th set had all those same parts in a different (lighter) shade of green?

If the shade can be definitely identified, then feel free to add those parts
as alternates to the lime parts.

But I don't know if it has a name. I had noticed neon green, but have nothing
to compare to it.

Also, these parts are what we considered 'Lime' back in 2004.

I'm going to make a wild guess that the assembly facility (likely Enfield
in those days) ran out of a part in a certain color, asked Billund what do we
do now, and were told (based on what was readily available) to use a similar
color.

Having said that, you should look at this …
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1096474

Those parts were from the Walgreen's 2003 bonus boxes, and were (at the time)
presumed to be out of tolerance factory rejects. It may shed a little light on
what you are seeing.

Dear Robert,

I know that the process of studying, doing an analysis and finally making a decision
for each inventory change request is not entertaining much. I really got it.
This is why I am giving a new type of evidence. Hope it satisfies you:

https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=g5ED0vWsLIE

(remove the space in the middle)

For supporting the addition of "boat weight" to 7735, I made a huge effort.
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1093132

You finally accepted the request but you didn't reply to my question that
if the evidence was good enough and 100% convincing:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1096624

Your silence makes me thing that it was not good enough however you trusted us.
Well, thanks but it is still disappointing that after such an effort, I could
still not give a good evidence. Hopefully the above video helps better.

In the video, we see that the motor is of type 4 (bb12vc) and boat weights 73090b
so this set if from 1988 or later. Unfortunately, we don't see 3002. I am
sure it came in this set.

The inverted 45 2*2 bricks

I'm not even completely sure what you're asking there. If you have evidence
of the variants or alternate variants of 2 x 2 and 2 x 3 bricks included in set
7735, please share that evidence.
