I've been a Lego Maniac since I was old enough to ask for a set. I will never forget getting my first Lego set, an original Space Police series ship with a green Blacktron figure. In the 90's, my friends and I built Lego empires in our houses out of all the sets we had. Our civilizations were mixtures of space, pirate, medieval, and frontier Lego sets, put together to form a detailed alternate reality. Wars were fought and political agreements sewn between humans, robots and aliens. After going off to college, I all but forgot about the little empire in my parents' basement. After graduating, moving to another state, and having to grow up as we all do, I started remembering the magic I felt as a kid, creating different worlds out of bricks. I of course asked my parents to box up my legos and send them to me ASAP! Nowadays they're all sitting in boxes in my garage, waiting to be reassembled into another empire (maybe in my own basement now). My office on the other hand is full of Lego aircraft and figures from the Star Wars universe. Anyone walking up to my desk knows there's a maniac sitting behind it. I found out about Brick Link while planning my wedding. My wife wanted our cake decorated with Lego Star Wars (my favorite) and Harry Potter (her favorite) characters. In searching for individual bricks and figures, I found BL and read about Daniel Jezek. I'm so glad I found this community and am truly grateful that Mr. Jezek gave this gift to all of us.
