About Me Pages: About harrelmusic (136)
I'm the father of two LEGO fans who helped me escape from the depths of the Dark Ages. My oldest son was 8 years old before I officially considered myself an AFOL. Contributing factors include: reading LEGO: A Love Story by Jonathan Bender, taking a trip to Legoland California in summer 2011, and buying the Grand Emporium. Once I was introduced to Bricklink -- partially due to the book -- it all began spiraling out of control.

I'm not sure if my children have a good scenario because I'm an AFOL or not. On one hand it's not hard to talk me into buying a new set if it's on sale, but on the other hand I'm not going to buy certain sets if I don't see the play value of it or -- heaven forbid -- the price/piece is too high. (The occasional Star Wars set being the exception)

I've enjoyed selling a few bits and pieces of LEGO through Bricklink, but I enjoy buying and learning more about LEGO even more.

By day I'm a music and digital media teacher. For fun my sons and made this short video:
"Minifig Training Session" on Vimeo.com

We also made a video for my older son to try to win a membership to Kansas City's new LDC
"Junior Construction Panel" on Vimeo.com

I'll take pictures of many of our LEGO builds and post them on Flickr:
