About Me Pages: About MalcolmSparrow (359)
Hi, My name is Malcolm Sparrow, I was born in April 1958.I am married to Barbara, a "Lego widow" and have 2 teenage kids, one 18 and one 19. We also have a Dog a tame, talking, Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and two Rainbow Lorriketes. We live on a 5 Acre property just outside of Mt. Gambier. South Australia. I run my own Carpertry business and have a large workshop on our property.

I have been a lego fan since I was around 7-8. It had only just been introduced into Australia. I can remember being asked what I would like for Christmas and Birthday. Every time the answer was the same, "LEGO". One of my first sets was 810 UK Town Plan. I still have a few of those peices (HO Vehicles, Trees, Little motor and push bikes etc. I also still have the old cardboard base but it is very poor condition (wish I had looked after it better).

These days my son and I like collecting City, Technic, Creator, Star Wars, infact most Lego sets. Neither of us go for Harry Potter, Bionicals, Ninjago or Hero Factory.

All our Lego is kept in one (not big enough) dedicated Lego room, It is layed out with a bench top along 2 walls with large, compartmented, drawers underneath to hold all the peices, and shelves on 3 walls, to hold all the made up models.

At the moment I am into MOCS and have just finished the "Aussie House", it has about 11,000 peices and is 5 base plates by 5 base plates. (36 x 36 stud base plates). The removable roof on the house alone, has over 1,100 peices.I will post pics once I work out how.

My wife and I have just finished cataloguing all our sets intruction books, so far they have filled 19 large A4 4 ring folders and 7 A5 3 ring folders, and thats just the ones I have instructions for.

Thats enough about me now, come visit my store, The Brick Yard, unfortunately, at the moment, I mostly have only Bionical stuff I picked up from the local Pawn Broker, it was mixed in with a lot of other Lego.
